A fave thread of mine is finding out the backstory behind people's avatars. I picked mine because one of the most intriguing concepts about Heroes (to me anyway) is what the heck Uluru actually is!
Well My avatar is a character from the videogame Metal Gear Solid. It is the Cyborg Ninja AKA *SBPOILERS* Grey Fox. He is a great character in the game and I liked the pic.
Mine is actually very simple but does need a bit of back explination.
I am Wiccan, if you need to ask just pm me, I do not want to clog the boards with religious clarifications.
Any ways, one of the things many Wiccans do, like many other faiths, is to take a new name. Some see this as a 'craft name', some as a private name between them and the Gods and some go so far as to legally adopt the new name.
The trouble is that most of these new names are so trite and pedantic that it has become quite a joke in the pagan community.
I had never considered a new name. I like my name! I like the sound of it and get great pleasure in folks misspronouncing it constantly. By the way, the real name is Tonia.
Hence when I was asked my 'magickal name' by someone, on the spot I said :
"Starkraven Madd, with two d's, by Edmund Wells"
Well those folks did not get the slightly mangled reference (and who here does?) but I got a jolly good laugh from the looks on thier faces.
Hence I was initiated 'Starkraven Madd' and have been so ever sense.
End of story. Not really interesting no that I read it over, but oh well.
On another note, the husband carefully prepped himself for an interesting handle, choosing Kordwainer for several reasons. One being the tie in with the tarot and the fool, cordwainer meaning shoemaker and all. (again there is an interesting bit of history) Unfortunatly my initiation name set the priest in a bit of a silly mood and he began to pronounce it LordWeiner, and thus the name was ruined for him for all time. *sigh*
Mine is from an anime called Naruto. He was a born prodigy that kills all his clan but his little brother to test his skills. The little brother is alive to get strong enough to challenge him later, and killing him will be another act validating his power. I picked it cause he was born with special gifts and so were the hero's on the show.

My avatar is my own original character created for an online text-based role-playing forum. I've been playing him for 3 years now, and the forum itself has been active for 4 years.
Tateo Minamino, or "Teo", is a telepath/empath/healer (self and others), with a personality much like Hiro's. He was born into a 'Heroes'-like world where many, who are discovering meta-human powers, gravitate to a boarding school and town for "metas" in the mountains of southwestern Japan. There they learn to harness those powers, and have even saved the world a time or two...new students and others (original please, no playing Naruto or Hiro!) are always welcome.
This is a picture of the Plutonium Boss, from the NES Game Blaster Master.
Though I love the game profoundly, I have never seen the Plutonium Boss in the game itself. This is because of one factor and one factor alone: the lack of a save or level password feature in the game. As a kid, I always had to turn off the game before I got anywhere near him.
Mine was a google search away from advanced searching to find something that would fit on here. Although i am NOT white/ nor infantile. It expresses what i enjoy most.
Mine's a design for a tatoo I drew years ago. In a nutshell is the influence of good and evil on your heart. THey both hurt, but if you live through it, your heart will still be king, and reign over your life, and decisions.
