Just reading this thread makes my head hurt...... but i think Petey's gal pal is screwed...

i think the real question is "does Caitlin's fate need to be answered?"

maybe not, but if the writers feel compelled to at least give some information about her I'd go along with something like;

Nathan P: (lying in bed with tubes in him) "Pete, at least you managed to save that Irish girl"

Peter P: "I went to see her, she doesn't remember me, the trip, her brothers death, or anything for the past 6 months. I thought stopping the virus would bring her back to me, but at least she's safe to continue her life."

quick comment, that's it, she's out of the show. Leave Peter to go in and start kicking some heads.

I disagree... her being "lost in time" was supposed to be like, the tap that started the ball rolling on Peter's quest to stop the virus. "I have to save Caitlin!" Oh, sorry, u're dead, sis. Yes, the virus was stopped, but due to a conundrum of time travelly twistiness, and an unfortunately timed writer's strike, we're sorry, but ... what's the term? Oh yes, u are S.O.L., Miss. Sorry. Maybe if Pete did manage to acquire the Hatian's power, he can mind-wipe her from his own head, so he won't have to be haunted by the memory of the girl he damned to nothingness in a now defunct timeline. Sooo, R.I.P. Caitlin. May ye be in heaven a half an hour 'fore the devil knows you're dead.

Yes, I will reluctantly admit that the show will most likely kill off Kaitlin, but I really want it to be dealt with in a way that is plausible, not the "she is trapped in a now safe future" crap that I am fearing.

To be honest, I don't think we'll ever see Caitlin again on the show.

After all, her use was to wake Peter up to his powers, and now that he's back, he's going to be obsessed with finding his brother's killer.

I don't think that she's ever going to make it back into the plot, and that would've actually been an interesting storyline.

Honestly though, if Peter does leave her to whatever fate has now befallen her, that sort of blemishes his Hero Street Cred. What kind of hero leaves his love interest in a virally-decimated future?

The same kind of cred to a hero who needs to follow someone else and do as he's told because he can't think for himself, that's who!

Anyway, I don't think they'll visit that thread, mainly because they'll deem that it was completely unimportant to the rest of their storyline. She's dead. Went the way of big bro, and written off. Too bad, Peter's going to be off looking for the killer of Nathan, and not even going to blink an eye when he realizes that she's not around anymore.

Sad, but true. After all, we're dealing with some really amateurish writing now, so it stands to reason that they're going to be leaving some gaping holes in their storylines now! Confused

Okay though: Peter has seen what Adam's blood did for his brother once... If he doesn't at least TRY to use his own blood to save Nathan, then i will stop watching. I swear on all that is holy, i will.

I go back to what I said a couple of months ago -- if you believe the multiverse theory of the COSMOS (meaning, our Universe, is NOT the only one), then Caitlin does exist in this Alternate reality, five years in the future, where Peter could conceivably go and fetch her...

But, they have dropped the virus story line, so what purpose would such story line serve? Unless of course they feel so desperate that they have to re-introduce the virus!!!
