Will you be buying the season one DVD box set when it hits the stores? I know i will the story is so good you can rewatch a show and pick up other little subplots and story.
I know I will be getting it as soon as it is released. I seem to be missing parts of the show every week doing the usual. Putting the kids to bed, talking to hubby....
For that reason I suggest to everyone that they invest in either a DVR or TiVo. Even if I don't miss it, I have the episodes to catch up friends and co-workers that I introduce to the show.
I will buy it the day it is available. What I would like to see them add to the DVD is a show podcast commentary, much like Ron Moore does with Battlestar Galactica. Course they would have to be doing a show podcast to add it, but it would still be cool.
I'm not sure. At the moment I seem to be buying all of the I-tunes copies, so unless they add something really special to the DVD there is no point for me to buy it.
I am not sure. I watch it in HD and enjoy it in that format. I am not ready to commit to either Blu-Ray or HD-DVD until one of the formats wins. I am not even sure which one Heroes would be committed to (through studio links).
I also use a DVR to save the episodes so I can watch them again. I was also burned by getting the Lost Season 1 DVD and then losing interest in the direction of the show. In that case, they committed a cardinal sin (in my mind) and that was that they did not love their own characters. They killed them off too much so they wouldn't pass the cap of characters to keep up with as they brought the never ending supply of new ones in. You can kill off a character you love (see Six Feet Under) but it shows in the way you kill him/her.
Good extras might push me towards getting it later on. Usually Season 1 DVDs come out right before Season 2 comes out. I would be familiar with Season 1, so would not need the refresher, but if the series is sufficiently fun, I might enjoy watching it later. There is some good flow of plots that tie off every three episodes or so. So being able to watch the three episodes at once is a different experience than waiting to watch the episode once a week.
