As Charlie, the waitress, was ironically removing the lid on the can, her own lid was being removed.

She was turning the can, and all of the sudden stopped, and blood was running down her face, meaning her head had been sliced in an instant and if her head was sliced her brain was probably removed, and her head (lid) was put back. All of that happened in a split second. We know this because the next moment, the camera shows the front of her face, and nobody was standing behind her.

The table was in front, nobody was on each side of her, and nobody was behind her. So unless you think "Sylar" was Spidermanning down from the roof on spidey web, then this head slicing/brain removing took place by someone who could stop time, like Hiro, see the world at a paused stand-still, take care of business very carefully and slowly (if necessary), run away with the brain and unpause time, leaving the waitress with a sliced head and nobody to be found.

Coincidentally, Hiro is in the bathroom when this occurs. There is a reason for this. Is it because future Hiro is Sylar? Probably not. But Charlie could have had her head cut off with Hiro sitting in a booth doing crossword puzzles.

Sylar's watch always seems to read 7 minutes until midnight, coincidentally the name of the show. This probably foreshadows the fact that Sylar already has time-stopping abilities, and why he didnt go after Hiro's brain in the diner.

highly unlikely that it was hiro since if you listen closely you can hear something after she finished the lid. It was a separate sound all together and if it was hiro then why did the man who looks white that was in all black gone when the brain was gone. He has TK so he can most likely move at high speeds with tk movement to guide him and that would be the reason for not seeing him not time altering just super speed and tk. I dont believe hiro would kill a girl to save a girl just to kill her again.

Sylar's primary ability is apparently telekenisis, as he demonstrates both on the FBI woman in past episodes, as well as with the coffee cup in the last episode. His face also always seems masked in shadow, dispite the amount of ambient light (whether this is actually an effect of his powers or just the producer's of the show trying to keep him "in the shadows" for a little bit longer I don't know).

Sylar seems to be very skilled at using his own powers. Someone with TK effectively has the ability to affect matter and energy fields. It would be very easy for a very powerful and skilled user of TK to seperate flesh and bone and remove the brain with surgical percision. Marvel comics often show higher level heros/villans with TK to be able to affect matter at the atomic level, not just at the macro level although it requires a lot of power to do so.

If he can bend energy fields as well as matter, that could explain a) why his face is in shadow, b) how he could move unseen into the store room. We also don't know if he can use his power without line-of-sight, meaning he didn't even have to be in the room to use it.

Second, I think that Sylar is very knowledgeable about how everyone has been gifted with these powers. He may have found the key to extract the powers from others. We've seen a number of times in the show that the brain seems to be where many of the powers stem from (Claire could not regen until her brain was fully functional, Matt's powers are primarily mind related, Isaac couldn't paint without mind-altering drugs, etc.)

If his primary ability is telekenisis then it is difficult to explain why the Sylar MO and some of his victims are also "frozen". Either he's manipulating energy or air particals enough to reduce the ambient temperature to below freezing in an instant or he has somehow gained the ability to freeze at a distance (like Marvel's Ice-Man).

If that is the case it also explains why saving the Cheerleader is so important. Since her ability is a Healing Factor than can prevent death (possibly with the exception of removing the head/brain from the rest of the body), then him gaining that power in addition to his own power would make him near impossible to stop.

I think the "Save the Cheerleader" event is not directly related to the New York explosion. Hiro, Isaac and Peter were already on their way to stopping the explosion before future Hiro came back to tell Peter what to do.

I think that future Hiro is from a number of months or years after that event has been handled only to find they had an opponent who is unstoppable, namely Sylar. The only way to defeat Sylar at that point would be to prevent the same event that gave him the healing factor that would prevent him from dying.

Imagine also that if Rad-Man Ted escapes to NY and Sylar tries to behead him that that might be the cause of the explosion. If Sylar has Claire's powers as well as Ted's powers he could be unstoppable.

Upon further watching of the last episode, there is a loud ticking everytime they show Sylar in the restaurant, they also focus on his watch twice, i am not sure if the loud ticking is present in the taxi cab, i guess ill have to watch it again .......(DARN) Ha Ha

Just a few things, this isn't the Marvel Universe, do as little comparing as possible. Anything can be possible in this new universe.

It was stated by Kring I believe in another spoiler that the future Hiro was from the distant future.

As for the watch, I was under the impression the watch broke as Sylar was killing Chandra against the window, I'll have to re"watch" that scene now.

As for the point of this thread..
There is some possibility he can stop time. Why else would Sylar have waited untill the only other person to be able to stop time was not in a busy room to notice that time was stopped? Or maybe not stop time, maybe someone else has(had) the ability just to slow it down? Would be very similiarto someone moving super fast to the normal pace of time also I suppose, but I'll guess on it being the first of the two.

On a side note ALL events in the past are related to those in the future. Unless an entirely new group of heroes is introduced, this event saving the cheerleader will somehow relate to the explosion. That I'm positive about. Even if it's just about the group of the heroes finally all meeting up and working on figuring out Hiro's future adventure.
