Well.... I'm pretty sure Peter ought to survive; I kind of hope Nathan did as well, but he definetely was in an altruistic mood at the end there (for once).
Both, totally. Nathan totally could have left Peter before he exploded (there was obviously enough time), then as Peter regenerates, Nathan will go back to him, and they'll fly home. Yay for happy endings!
I think Peter lives, Nathan dies, and that the man who Peter took care of that owned the balcony was wrong. Nathan turned out to be the one who saved the world, coming back to take Peter away. I was confused why the writers chose to have Nathan take Peter away when the Cheerleader could have killed Peter; one dead that way instead of two... but it makes sense if they want Peter to live on. They had two viable options for stopping Peter's explosion, and they chose the one that would allow Peter to live on. Anyway, Peter has already absorbed the ability to fly, and probably flew himself away. You can also bet he's going to start time traveling even more.

The point is, THE WAY he chose to SAVE THE WORLD. IF he had done it Linderman way, lots of people would have died. In this way, nobody, but himself dies, and Peter lives.
He was all about talking "sacrifices" and being a hero.
Besides, in Peter's vision Nathan died. And for the most part the dialogue between Nate and Pete were the same.
I totally agree.
If Nathan survives, then this is going to be very similar to HRG's scene where he gets shot and has the Haitian "erase" his mind of Claire. That was amped up emotionally only to bring us back to equilibrium in "Parasite" when we realize that HRG is completely fine and he still remembers Claire, he just doesn't know where she went.
IMO, if Nathan survives, that finale would have been totally meaningless and I venture to say "sucky." There would have been no sacrifice. Additionally, we knew that somebody was going to die. We know now that it's not DL, and Molly telling Matt not to die while he's in the stretcher implies that he can hear her, thus he is still alive. In fact, Matt is definitely alive in my opinon - his face is uncovered. Don't they usually cover up dead people's faces? He could of course die at the hospital, but I don't think so.
Sylar seems to have gone down into the sewer - he either dragged himself there or was dragged by someone/something else, as Action theorized. It's implied that he is still alive.
The writers are implying that Nathan, however, has perished as a true hero. He is the person who is closest to being dead.
I thought I read that Adrian Pasdar was confirmed for next season. But I admit I can't figure out a reasonable scenario that would have allowed him to survive.
I didn't quite get why Peter would let Nathan make that sacrifice rather than have Claire shoot him. It was a choice which brother died to save the city, and Peter would have been willing to die to save his brother. Besides the writers preferring the outcome we had, my best guess is that Peter wasn't the guy making decisions at that point. Nathan probably wouldn't have allowed Claire to shoot, and Claire didn't want to shoot anyway. Having seen Nathan become heroic, Claire probably didn't want Nathan to die either, but Nathan saved her from having to kill her favorite uncle.
Peter survived, but thanks to Nikki Nathan's soul is in Peter's body now...
Lol... I'm not sure if you're serious or not, but that wouldn't work because you're implying that Nathan absorbed "possession" and possessed Peter's body
Anyhow, I'm on the multiple personlity bandwagon for Niki - one that looks like it's making its last stop considering that Jessica seems to be completely out of the picture.
I guess I just don't understand why Claire couldn't have shot peter. Why couldn't he have lived? I mean Claire went through an autopsy.... And both have them have been killed and come back to life. Maybe when he woke back up he wouldn't have been about to explode. Maybe I just sound really dumb in saying this and if I do I'm open for the criticism. Have at it
