Honestly? I can still see Angela as the driving force behind the Company. After all, her saying "You know that you've opened Pandora's Box" could be a supervisor reminding their charges that their actions could have some serious ramifications. Now, she's not taking them to task, because she knows that something severe had to be done. She's just reminding them what their actions could bring about.
I'm of the mindset that Bob and Angela are still following with the original plan that was set forth by the Company when they first started. They're not really penitent over their actions, they're trying to be more discreet than a world-wide pandemic, or the blasting of a major city.
I think they're going to be using abilities to pinpoint major points in time, and then cull those major players, to make room for their own people to step into the gap, and gain power. Once they have key people in key places, they can then act with impunity, and not have to worry about things "going public", or being unmasked, as they'll have the resources to hide any or all evidence of their actions. (Kind of a Splinter Cell type of organization)
Anyway, I also think that HRG now being back in the mix is really going to stir some things up. Mainly because of two things:
One, he's there to keep his family out from under the reach of The Company. Because of this, he's going to do whatever they ask him to as ruthlessly as possible, just to prove that he's back, and get himself back into their good graces.
Two: He's not going to be as secretive abouthis actions as he used to be. Why? Becuase even though he is back with The Company to keep his family safe, it's still against his better judgement, and he's still ultimately wanting to take down this monster if at all possible. He can't allow Claire to go public with the news, but if he's able to raise questions with the actions he takes, isn't that going to be amounting to the same thing? Plus, then he's got the excuse of "You asked me to do the job, and I did it. What's your problem with that?" type of excuse for his actions.
I also think that he's going to have more of an impact in luring Elle over to his cause because he's showing her kindness and respect that Bob seems to have a serious lack of. Because HRG is acting more like a father than Bob ever could, we're going to be seeing a major shift in Elle's actions this next season as well.
There's a few of my predictions for this next season.. Let's see if I can read their minds, shall we?
For those of you who like Adrian Pasdar... he has a youtube account (I've been a subscriber for a few months now). It is buckshotwon. He has posted some comments on his account as follows:
I wish I could share with you all the future for Nathan... But, as you all well know, mum IS the word.
Who could possibly have shot me?? The REAL answer to that question is very, very interesting. I promise.
Once again, thank you, Nicholette!
Well, Adrian says that the answer to killer's identity is "very, very interesting."
Personally, I don't think that HRG being the killer is "very, very interesting." I think HRG is too predictable to be interesting. But maybe that's just me...
I could deffinately see it being HRG as some kind of trust test thingy with the company... not sure, the long jacket and the hair of the assassin kinda reminded me of claude... but i doubt that lmao

Why would Peter kill Nathan with a gun of all things? He has all of those powers, even ones they have neglected showing him using for the past who knows how many episodes. Wouldn't it be easier for him to do all of his tasks invisible? Those caps are most likely a stunt double for Noah or... Future Peter(who has already been ruled out). The caps matched closest to Peters face. I suppose it can be a new character, some pet killer Angela has to do her dirty deeds. Which brings me to my next point.... What are Angela's powers?
well if future peter killed him with his own skills then current peter would probably commit suicide realising he did it, then we'd be stuck in a paradox and god knows what'd happen.
For Plot Reasons, And ONLY if it wasn't HRG, I'd say it was West. Because then the Claire/West relationship will have ACTUAL conflict and substance and won't be some lame TV romance cliche. But ONLY if it isn't HRG which it almost certainly is...
i do feel that the way the virus saga came to a close was a bit poop to be honest, rather rushed. They could have done a great cinematic end to the virus with adam dropping the virus as hiro takes him away, peter entering the vault, missing the "catch" and turning around to warn nathan, who flys matt out of the site real quick, and peter finishing the virus off on his own by nuking the entire site.... or something? i dunno... i just feel that "mind catching" the virus before it hits the ground was a little lack luster considering the build up this plot has had
I agree - the scenario you just proposed would have been pretty cool to see! Though, that would bring up the problem of trying to explain a 'nuclear bomb' going off in Odessa, Texas, most likely killing tens of thousands of people.
doesn't have to be a huge nuking, just an over-grown pop which takes out the building and is blamed on a gas explosion (which would then also explain all the dead staff).
I was just so tense and caught up in the moment when the vial dropped and peter runs in and in my head I'm thinking "omg, what's gonna happen now!!" and he stopped it with his mind and my thoughts went to "oh, is that all... pfft, uri geller can do that"... never been so disappointed

The episode certainly makes it appear that Nathan is dead for good now... Anyone think he'll stay dead or they'll bring him back?
Peter already knows that Adam's blood could heal people, and im sure the news would reach Mohinder quite quick... Anyone reckon Mohinder will think to use Peter's blood and get there in time to bring Nathan back?
I think you meant West in that entire Adam vein there, though you seem to have gotten it right in the end.
(Posted mainly to help any newbies who might get confused by your error - not attacking you or anything!)
Anyway, I think it is quite obvious who shot Nathan - Mr. Muggles!! He seemed quite happy to see Noah when he got home. I think Mr. Muggles is a company dog, through and through - I mean look at the cover! The company rigged his dog shows so he would be in the spotlight - what better way to hide than right out in the open, eh?
I digress. You never really know anything for sure on this show.
LOL, yes I meant West. I'm sure it's because when I hear West I think "Adam West" which silly really because I'm not a fan of his, but I do it talking with friends all the time. Anyway, thanks for the correction
Actually PK, if you want to think "very very interesting", then you have to look at either Future Peter, or Future Hiro.
One of those two has to come back and stop Nathan from revealing the truth, and going public.
That's my take on it. Because if Nathan comes "out of the closet" about his power, then it could create the mass hysteria that we saw in the 5YG scenario, which would have Homeland Security hunting down and eliminating the evolved specials.
Take that idea, or leave it, but that would be the serious twist that you could be looking for!
1. Most obviously, Jack Coleman was asked to come to help them shoot the alternate ending, and we didn't see him anywhere else except there in the changed scenes.
2. It looked like him.
3. He's back to being the Company's muscle again, and it definitely seemed to be a Company thing.
Now if it's not Noah, how about Arthur Petrelli? lol. I'm gonna change my signature and add that. I have to have at least one crazy Arthur Petrelli theory going at all times. And I'll be the first to admit that it's crazy. Long live Arthur Petrelli! Yes, he shot his own son.
Even if it WAS a Hero that shot Nathan, they wouldnt use a power to silence him about POWERS. Duh!
HRG being the assasin is ABSOLUTELY interesting. Claire's better-loved, adoptive father killing her estranged, bio-dad? Now THAT's drama!
I loved Angela's "Pandora's Box" comment. She is ABSOLUTELY right. Someone just killed the one person that the most powerful human in the world loves. The guy whose daughter is nigh-unstoppable. Prepare for retaliation is all i can say!
Not to mention the Pandora's box might mean this is the first time the Company has blatantly done something in public like this. It's gonna be a lot tougher to cover up than Simone.

Whoever shot Nathan didn't want Nathan to reveal the truth about abilities.
And if that person didn't want the truth to be revealed, the assassin wouldn't have used powers to kill Nathan. He would have used conventional methods of assassination, hence the gun...
I don't think it was Future Peter, but I'm just saying...
