Well, we all knew somebody would... the question, now that it's official is - Who?
Probably we can rule out Claire, I'm happy to say, because
1.) "Save the Cheerleader - Save the Whoops, she's dead!" does not sell, and
2.) It seems like it would take a *lot* to kill her off with a gunshot.
However, the rest are pretty much fair game. However if it's Mohinder or Hiro, I will probably hurt something. My bet says my beloved Detective is the next to go. Which would be very, very sad. But they wouldn't have the guts to kill off Hiro, and they had darn well *better* not kill Mohinder (Obsessed much?).
((Edit: Oh, well DUH, it won't be Hiro... or Peter! We know they both show up in the future! Nice going Jess *kicks self*))
i think it's Isaac because he's served his purpose in the series already. Not much use for a precog now it will just make the show to predictable if they keep him around seeing the future and telling everyone whats going to happen next. I'd say DL but thats to obvious because of the way they left that off. Yah good character but prob Isaac.
Oops! Thanks, Superhiro - I was so lost as to where to put this (*mutters* I Always have trouble with that...).
Good point, Pfunk... The only thing, though, with Isaac (I just trie3d to call him Simon... no idea why...) is that in Hiro's vision of the future, He's died by Sylar's hand... I don't see anything to have changed that, and it seems odd to have nothing making the difference, ya know?
I wondre if I make any sense...
i'm leaning towards DL or Micah or maybe the haitian by sylar, the black guy always gets killed off :X. or perhaps Matt's time on the show is up. wasnt he under like a 6 episode contract only?
it could be eden if sylar gets a gun and kills her to stop her from conrtolling him. Or it could be niki if DL lived and kills her after meeting up later on.
My guess would be Isaac also. Hiro said in this episode that he cannot change the past and he has already seen Isaac dead in the future. This may mean that he will be unable to change this event.
This is a veryyyyy long post (sorry!), but I’ve got some interesting ideas I think. There are a few possibilities as to who will be leaving us, but I am leaning towards one in particular, and for a few reasons...
Isaac. Going along the same lines that PFunk had mentioned, it seems as if Isaac's character has fulfilled all that he needs to do for the series. 9 out of the 11 episodes for this fall have been all about "Save the Cheerleader. Save the world," (episodes 10 and 11 are the exceptions because the cheerleader has already been saved). When it comes down to it, Isaac was the character to bring Peter to the rest of them via the clues in his paintings, and now that the cheerleader has been saved, his mission is complete for the series. This is one reason as to why I think he is the one to go.
My second reason is that if you notice in the preview, somebody is holding a gun. Now, doesn't this gun look awfully like the one on Isaac's floor when Hiro finds him dead in the future? This leads me to believe that Isaac's fate in the story will still unfold in the same exact way that Hiro had forseen.
Lastly, it would be quite an ironic (and clever) move on behalf of the writers to get rid of Isaac soon. Just think about it - Isaac's predicament was like Eden's once was - his life was trash, but now hopes to move past that and cure better himself. He hopes to turn his life around, just like Eden did. What an ironic turn of events it would be to see the writers get rid of Isaac just after he made the decision to start a new, better life. I am, however, leaning towards my first explanation and the fact that he has already served his purpose for the show, but then again anything's a possibility.
My second choice for who they are going to eliminate is Ted Sprague, and for a couple of different reasons. It seems as if we have gotten to know Ted to the same extent that we got to know Charlie. Not too much information has been revealed about his history/life, but at the same time just enough has been revealed to already have him fulfill most of his "mission" (which I think was just to make that connection to Matt when they showed each other their marks and talked about the Haitian guy). Also, he is the closet thing we have right now to a possible "bomb" that decimates NYC, and I highly doubt that a nuke will appear out of nowhere in the final episode of the fall.
Eden – A possibility (but only a small one) since we have indeed gotten a decent glimpse into her powers, not to mention that she has done a lot thus far to help HRG, and has maybe even fulfilled her own mission. It may be her time, but I don’t think so just yet.
Simone - Though she is not a "Hero" she is still a part of the cast, and sad to say, she is definitely a possibility to go, but I still hold Isaac in that #1 spot for leaving the show. Him leaving would also eliminate the little love triangle between he, Simone, and Peter, and thus Simone could then act as Peter’s one and only reason (aside from perhaps his mother) for fighting and going on to become a “hero.”
Ando – Like Simone, he is not a “Hero,” and I am upset to admit that he also could be one to leave us. After all, he is Hiro’s powerless sidekick and killing him off may cause an incredible transformation within Hiro himself, thus forcing him to take his abilities to the next level (i.e. obtaining a sword – which I’ve heard he gets from a museum, and going back in time to learn how to perfect its use for his protection and the protection of others around him in retribution of Ando's death). Killing Ando would be extremely interesting for Hiro’s character development.
Now, to go about my ideas in a different way, I'll mention some reasons as to why it is UNLIKELY that the following heroes will be killed off:
Nikki/Jessica - We have only just found out about her past in “Six Months Ago,” and we don't yet know WHY or HOW she has acquired her powers, or even if Jessica was her identical twin or just a regular biological sister Even if they were to reveal all about Nikki/Jessica in the next episode, we as an audience would need a few more episodes to take in what we know about her before they kill her off. (i.e. the reason they could kill Charlie off in a couple of episodes is because we really hadn’t gotten the chance to know her on as personal of a level as we have a character such as Nikki).
D.L. - My main argument is that although we have gotten to know Nikki a lot, and D.L. somewhat, we have not gotten the chance to experience the two of them relationship-wise, especially not with Micha in the middle (I'm talking about like a physical interaction level where they spend time together, and seeing from the preview for next week, all three of them are TOGETHER in New York City... as they run away from something while looking back – maybe…. the bomb…). Besides, in the spoiler photos for the next episode, look at the picture of Nikki hugging Micha… look in the left side of the photo… there seems to be a black person’s arm, which could of course be D.L. standing at a distance.
Micha - We only saw a glimpse of his power momentarily, so from the perspective of a writer, there is still so much more for him to do and show us.
Peter and Hiro – Absolutely not. I refuse to believe it because (1) they both exist in the future (as we’ve discovered from the Future Hiro/Peter scene in the subway car) and (2) I know most people watch the show for the SOLE PURPOSE of seeing these two characters on the screen. They can’t get rid of fans’ top two loves just yet.
Nathan – I’m sort of torn… what I do know is that the interaction between he and Peter seems to be a very significant one in the series. At some points they are civil with each other, and at others there is incredible tension, and I think if we are to see him leave us, it would have to be sometime next year. Besides, we need to see him fly some more. I am not going to be satisfied if the HRG/Haitian guy scene is the only instance where he REALLY jets it in the air.
Claire – Claire is Claire. She is darn near invincible.
Sylar – No, because we have yet to see where his character is going. Besides, he is the villain.
Matt – He has only come into contact with one (well, I guess two, if you count Eden) of the heroes, and it just seems that for all of the time that was spent on him and developing his character, he still has more heroes to meet as well as events to contribute to in the series.
Hatian Man – Without him, HRG wouldn’t be able to continue his work.
Mohinder – He has only just discovered the meaning behind his father’s work and hasn’t even met any of the Heroes yet. Besides, he’s still in India.
I know this is a ridiculously long post, but if you get a chance, let me know what you think!
There are three groups of people they can choose to kill someone off from.
First, there are the minor characters. This might seem like a disappointment but the buildup is exactly one teaser long so it really wasn't much of a buildup. I would count Simone, Tina (Niki's friend), Janice (Matt's Wife), Angela (Nathan's Wife). These characters don't have powers and that is important to consider. The preview said, "a hero will be lost". If you stretch it, Simone could be seen as a hero through her connections to Nathan, Peter, and Isaac.
Second, we can go on to the main characters. This list would include Mohinder, Hiro, Nathan, Claire, D.L, Niki/Jessica, Matt, Isaac, Eden, and HRG. If you are paying close attention, all except HRG starred in their own graphic novel and I listed them in order of novel. I would strike Mohinder, Peter, and Hiro off the list for varying reasons. Mohinder is in India while everyone else seems to be in New York. We know Peter and Hiro survive. Claire can be crossed off because she is a dangling plot point. We still do not know how she is the key to saving the world.
D.L and Niki/Jessica are interesting. Micah (not on this list), is a dependent and therefore needs one of them (but not necessarily both). With a bullet being fired at him, you would think D.L. is being killed off, but the preview shows a handgun. The preview does show Jessica in a vulnerable position on the ground. Nathan survives in the future where the nuke goes off, but can die in this timeline. I doubt it though. Matt hasn't done much, but he also has not yet connected with the others and I don't see how he gets to New York from Los Angeles. Isaac seems very tempting. His loss is a true obstacle in their current path to forestalling calamity because he can show them a changing future in paintings. Eden is also tempting because she has shown her usefulness already. But we are just getting to know Eden. But that is how people die in Lost. When they have resolved their issues, they kill them. Forget about HRG. I expect big things from him. It is too early to lose him.
That leaves one more list. I think this last list is the most likely list to lose someone from. This is the middle list. Neither major nor minor characters. Ando, the Haitian, Micah, and Ted Sprague fall into this list. The Haitian can hardly be called a hero, and Ted would be hard pressed to be classified as one as well. You would normally think that Ando wouldn't be a hero since he lacks powers... but Hiro thinks him a hero. I do think that there are some unresolved issues with Ando and how he passed on an opportunity to help Claire when Hiro was gone... not showing the qualities of a hero. As for Micah, who would kill off a cute precocious kid?
While we debate using some inductive logic who we think may be killed off, in the realities of Hollywood, it may have come down to who had another project to do that conflicted with the Heroes shooting schedule. In that case, I would be disappointed if they killed someone off of the minor character list because that would mean they over-teased. I would be heartbroken if they kill off one of the main characters and leave a hiatus for resolution. I would however accept the killing of a minor character as something that happens in a dangerous world and my preference if I had to choose would be Ted, but since I am just a passenger and not a driver, I leave it up to them (both which category and which person).
Looks like Sylar escapes and kills Eden. I think she is the "safest" person to kill off. I havent gotten attached to her and have not been impressed with her ability.
