My theory?
SYLAR.
What does "light" do - it shows you the way.
What does Sylar's ability do? Well, as confirmed last night, it can help show Peter what he needs to do to avoid the grim future.
Not to mention that in the promo pic of the 5-10 of them on that mountain, Sylar's hand is surrounding a ball of yellow light.
Thoughts? |

I think the yellow light ball we see at sylars promo pick is a reference to sylar being a bomb at episode 4, just that. Remember when sylar took radiokinesys the first time? he was doing yellow lightballs at the end of that chapter while being at the top of the building and then he says "boom".
The pure thing could mean different things, like is pure the one whose blood have never being mixed or in contact with any other substance or element, including another blood. It could work in both ways, normal or special. Since normal is not likely, i would say that it has to be "specially normal", being a person whose blood is inmune to the formula or a person whose ability is to being inmune to the formula or any external factor of his system (aka body). The later, kind of remind of... yes... the haitian of even his brother, samidi (or is it samadi?), whom is suppoused to be inmune of the haitian powers... hmmm... isn't him suppoused to apper in the last episodes of the first volume? hmm.... interesting.... |

| Ok, couldn't edit my last post... but i just wanted to say that, the "specially normal" thing of my theory fits in another description of pure, which refers to the fact that even if you want to mix it or alter it (in this case "it" being "blood") the object itself just can't be mixed nor altered in anyway... |

| Sylar is said by the company to have "impure" blood because of all the abilities hes been absorbing. (back when he was DNA mixing because he was eating brains... another plot hole...) |

| Hmm, my thoughts on this "the light" is actually either Elle or Adam. "The Pure Blood" might actually refer to a person who's born to parents who had no ability (and I'm going to go by a theory that Elle might actually be Noah's daughter given by Jack's hints). |

As I've stated before, I think it might be Claire. Sylar said she was "special", that she didn't understand the full impact of her ability. He even said that he couldn't kill her even if he wanted to - that she could never die. ("And now, I guess, neither can I.")
I believe that Claire's ability may be an advancement of Adam's healing power, to the point of making her completely indestructible. Adam hints that it is possible to put an end to him by removing his head ("There's no coming back from that one."). He may have been lying to Peter, but if he wasn't, then perhaps Claire's power is a step above Adam's. |

I seriously hope that's not the case. I don't think that she's completely indestructible is what I mean. I think she's not able to feel pain and she can heal from practically any injury, but I still think that if her head gets blown off, she's dead.
Also wanted to say kudos PK, I do like the theory of Sylar being the light. I just much prefer Elle or Adam to be the true light. |

Well, Action, remember that his slate's pretty much been wiped clean aside from TK... so if they get rid of TK, then isn't he back to being "pure"? When you filter water, does it not become pure enough to drink? Anyway, I ramble, I ramble... lol
I interpreted pure blood to mean someone who was birthed to two parents who had abilities. We already know Sylar's mother... so all we need to know now is Sylar's father... and if Sylar's father had an ability, then he could definitely be the 'pure' one in my opinion. What if Peter was the "manufactured" mimic and Sylar is the pure one... after all, in the preview for the next episode, Angela says to Nathan, "We gave you your ability TOO" - and she's speaking to Nathan at The Company, in what looks like Peter's cell, while Petey's strapped to a table.... yup, you heard it here first! Petey's the impure (manufactured) mimic, and Sylar's the pure (but 'broken') mimic.

I actually love this theory, Darcy. It would basically mean that pure blood = a special who got his/her power through evolution only, and not direcctly from a parent. Let's think of this a little...
In my opinion, LOGICALLY speaking, if we were to think along the terms of SOLELY evolution, whose power would probably be the most likely for a human to develop, or be born with right from the get go?
Aside from Charlie's, I'd say that the next in line isSylar's! Sylar's power is to be able to see how things work. This isn't a physical ability really, it's a mental one, and of all of the abilities we've seen on the show, Intuitive Aptitude seems the most likely candidate for humans to develop first during the evolutionary process (much moreso than flight, regeneration, telekinesis, pyrokinesis, etc). Do you agree? The only problem with your theory, Darcy, coupled with my theory, is that we already know Angela is most likely Sylar's biological mother, and we already know she has an ability...
....UNLESS.... she injected it into herself while working for The Company.

Eh... I'm still going by most recent precedent on this one, and the two most recent things said in regards to healers is (1) they can be killed by cutting their heads off, confirmed in last weeks "Behind The Eclipse," and (2) Future Claire told Present Peter in episode 4 that a bullet through the back of the head would kill him.

Because Adam has been around for 400 years, I'm inclined to go with you in that he could be 'the pure blood' - he could very well be the very first special in the history of specials. As for Elle... nah... that'd be too anticlimactic IMO, and too literal in regards to her ability. |

Yeah, I'm much more inclined to believe Adam is the pure blood.
Something else I wanted to bring up just now after watching "I am become death" a second time is that I think Linderman is the one manipulating everybody as Angela pointed out to Hiro. She said something about a person that can't be seen, which would explain why she wants Hiro to dig Adam up. |

I'm gonna go with Adam. A) he was the first of the specials (that we know of). B) he doesn't seem to have any ability other than the one that we are aware of. C) he was "apart of the company" for a bit so maybe they used his blood as their basis for building this formula. D) if he was considered "the light" or "pure blood" by the others that would explain his self-righteous attitude and his intent on "knowing what's best for the greater good"...... A lot of "quotes" I know. Sorry. But why else would Hiro dig him back up?
I don't know, but personally, this season is becoming my favorite one quite quickly. But I'll tell ya, after that two-hour premeire I feel let down with just an hour of it every Monday. I hope the season finale is two hours of just ACTION! Sylar is the god damn man! |

Sylar was awesome last night - the fight in the Bennet home in the future was the best fight we have ever seen in the series. It didn't use many powers, but it was intense as all heck, and had me on the edge of my seat. |

I agree with you their Mr. Popkorn - that was one awesome battle. As you mentioned, we only saw a few powers being used (i.e. Super Speed, TK, Radiation, were there any more...?) but it definately satisfied the action-loving side of my viewing mentality for the evening. Poor little Noah... |

IMO the possibilities of this "light" one
There's Adam: The original Hero, Angela tells Hiro to retrieve him because he is the key. Unfortunately he dies in an episode titled "the Dying of the Light"
There's Elle: at the end of that first episode, when Sylar tries to cut her head open she bursts in light. Also, she was labeled "Elle the Executioner" in season 2 by Mohinder, did she kill the people with abilities that the company saw as a threat?
There's Sylar: I don't think it is him, but he is a possibility, and that may be why Future Peter says it's his ability that is needed to save the World.
Then there's Peter: He could potentially have everyones power just by coming in contact with them. But he doesn't have his abilities. I think the reason he needed Sylars ability was to regain his ability since he came in contact many times but never gained it til he was taught. Perhaps Aurthur didn't get that one from him?, Arthur did say when he took Maya's ability that he leave's nothing. So I don't know.
There is also the possibility of the writers coming up with something absolutely crazy that works. We'll see. |

I'm pretty sure Arthur gained Gabriel's ability when he drained Peter, but IA is unique from other abilities in the fact that you have to understand how to use it to actually use it. So in a way Arthur has IA and doesn't have IA. |
