Thus, either Peter's going to figure out how Charles' power works, or he (or Hiro) are going to time travel in order to get answers from Ms. Pratt.. If they're trying for answers from her at all....

I'm more for the idea that Peter and Hiro are going to be using their abilities to knock Primatech around for a while, and take the information they've hoarded for their own use. After all, in the previous "future" episodes we got a chance to see, Peter and Hiro were two of the grand leaders of the evolved rebellion. Stands to reason that they'd still be willing to kick Primatech around a few times to get some vital info they'd need, don't you think??

So I'm just going to present my thoughts on the matter, and if I repeat what someone else already said, apologies in advance. My brain hurts. wink

So, someone's adopted. I already posited in the General Spoiler thread that I think it could be Sylar, and that he's Linderman's kid. I'm not going to rehash that, but just listing what I've thought so far.

Now I'm getting down to the details, so bear with me. Sylar as a Petrelli also makes sense, based on the Season 3 trailer and comments Cristine Rose made at one point about Sylar's connection to the Petrellis (IIRC). Now, we have a problem. If he's a Petrelli by way of Arthur, then that's easy-peasy, no big deal. But if he's Angela's son, that presents its own set of difficulties. Hear me out:

- Nathan and Peter are separated by roughly 13 years
- I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that Sylar and Peter are closer in age than Sylar and Nathan are (purely based on the fact that Zach and Milo are the same age IRL...[/stalkerish fangirl moment])
- Therefore, if Angela was pregnant, or gone for a noticeably long time, Nathan would have noticed, because he was old enough to remember (unless the Haitian got to him, and the web gets even more tangled...)

In short: If Angela is Sylar's mother, how did she hide that pregnancy? Did she have the Haitian mindwipe everyone? Does she have a Candice-like ability where she could hide her belly? Or would they write in that she disappeared for a few months? It's a tricky situation, plot-wise.

For Peter to be adopted, it would probably have to pan out that he's not a Petrelli at all. If Kaito's his father, as some people have proposed, he wouldn't be "adopted," per se. Angela would still be his rightful mother, so the only thing he would really be is an illegitimate child, not an adopted one (unless the writers say that Arthur adopted him as his own, but I think that wouldn't be as big a plot twist as the spoiler implies...).

The idea of Hiro as the adopted one combines both sets of problems together, unless Adam is thrown into that mix (but then, who's his mom? Or does that even matter?...but I digress).
If they say Angela is his mother, again: Hiro is made to be pretty young (mid-20s). How did Angela hide that pregnancy?
And if Kaito's the father: Hiro technically isn't adopted, except maybe by Ishi, and does she ever really factor into much of anything on this show? (answer: not really).

Those are just my thoughts on the matter. Take them however you like.

2. Peter and Sylar as twins works for me. Same or different fathers is also fine. We know almost for sure that Arthur is Nathan's father. Having Linderman, Kaito, or Adam be the father of Peter and Sylar is what I'm thinking. I've never thought that Peter was Arthur's son.
3. Claude keeping Angela's other son as a secret also works.
4. If Sylar is adopted by the watchmaker and the crazy mother though- Who was the watchmaker and how were they selected?

What if Angela ISN'T Nathan's mom?

What if it's... Victoria Pratt?? Shocked

That would mean that Peter and Adam killed Nathan's mother!

Peter and Sylar could be twins, but what if Nathan's not Angela's son?

i reallyyyy hate the idea of nathan and peter NOT being brothers....infact....i dont even want them to be HALF brothers

am i the only one that sees the "you're my brother nathan!"- peter

what i'm saying is. i feel REALLY emo about the peter/nathan brother connection. theres just TOOOO much stuff that'd be undone in my mind, like how he knew nathan got in an accident BEFORE the phone call, but...i truly felt it WASNT an ability he absorbed, just his empathy

even the fact that..peter saved the cheerleader (so she could talk nathan into NOT letting peter explode on the ground)

i don't mind sylar being a petrelli or whatever but...nathan and peter NEED to be brothers in my mind.

That is where the SERIOUS twist could come in.

Peter, always with the "You're my brother, Nathan!", but Nathan, with his political savvy knowing deep down that Peter's NOT his brother, and is adopted, but still going to help bail him out from his REAL brother that he's been tracking since helping Claire escape his clutches back in season 1!

Talk about convoluted..

Peter and Sylar.

Peter and Nathan.

Nathan and Claire.

Sylar and Claire.

And Angela Petrelli riding herd on them all for now......

Seems to me like Angela's going to have more on her plate in this coming season!!

Hello all, been a little while Smile

This was a lot to read and get up to speed on. But I'll post some initial thoughts.

I too am loving the Sylar/Peter fraternal twins idea. I would also suggest that Kaito is their father. I think they could sell that as far as physical features (no blonde hair/blue eyes issue at least). And if I recall correctly we know there was something between Kaito and Angela at some point so this could be the result, whether it was a fling or was intended all along. I prefer to think it was either a fling or a plan that only Kaito and Angela knew about. The whole mass breeding thing doesn't sit well with me, even though it is certainly plausible. Just a preference thing there.

In this scenario I would imagine Sylar was in Claude's care, hiding him from the Company, while a 'normal' adoptive family was found. I would suggest that Angela or Kaito is a precog and foresaw not only what Sylar could become, but also how his ability would function and, for whatever reason, trusted Claude to keep a secret. They they decided that he was too dangerous to be part of the Company life (because unlike Peter he has to kill to acquire abilities) and figured that the chances of young Gabriel ever accidentally discovering his ability would be very small if he lived a 'non-special' life.

I agree that the Nathan and Peter brother connection is important, but as half brothers who grew up together as brothers I think that bond would ultimately stay intact. Whether or not Nathan knew I don't think would matter much. I think the focus will be more on the new dynamic with Peter and Sylar. Sadly, this mat lead Peter to want to give Sylar a hug rather than have a conflict with him. There's always a downside Smile

I agree with Mad that Nathan is most definitely Arthur's son, so Peter might not be his biological brother. Here's a theory - Maybe, JUST MAYBE, Peter/Sylar were an "ASSIGNMENT", an assignment that Angela created for herself. Meaning this: Angela calculated whose DNA, when combined with hers, would create a 'maximum potential' child. Whether it was Linderman, Kaito, or someone completely new that we've never seen (or maybe even CLAUDE), Angela got impregnated from that male and, ironically, birthed TWO maximum potentials.

This could be why Angela, in episode 2 of Season 1, said that Peter was her "favorite" - because of his 'special creation' circumstances, she held him closer than regular ol' Nathan, and wouldn't be able to handle the death of Peter. There have been a few scenes where we can see Angela's true love for Peter:

1) In "Don't Look Back" when Peter is on the hospital bed.
2) In ".07%" when Mohinder brings Peter's lifeless body to Nathan's house.
3) In "Out of Time" when Peter travels to the future and confronts Future Angela.

Judging by the emotion in these scenes, I think these were the ONLY instances where Angela has been ever been sincere, loving, caring, and genuine. Not only does she say that she loves Peter, but she tells him that he's her favorite. I think that Peter being a 'special' project would make that mother-son bond stronger.

Thoughts on that theory?

By the way, Mad, I LOVE the theory of PETER and/or SYLAR being the one(s) that Claude was hiding from The Company. If the two boys were a special creation, then I'd assume that it had to be kept a secret, which is where Claude came in. In fact, Peter and Sylar don't even have to be brothers for your theory to hold true (Peter could just be the solo creation), and I think it's very plausible for Claude to have been hiding Peter at the very least.

As for the Watchmaker theory, remember the sign on the door of the watchstore? Gray & SONS. Perhaps the other "son" was Peter, and maybe Father Gray was once a part of The Company and is the person that impregnated Angela. For whatever reasons, Peter and Sylar were split, and Sylar went to go live with his biological father and step-mother (Virginia), while Peter went to go live with his biological mother and step-father (Arthur).

Also, some more support for the adopted/twin theory is the fact that Nathan is Arthur's favorite (as stated by Nathan in "Six Months Ago," which I believe to be true), while Peter is Angela's favorite (as I mentioned above). Perhaps Arthur knew about Peter not being his real son (which I assumed he did, considering that a little boy appearing in your life as your step-son couldn't really go unnoticed!). Lol.

Jorm, Nathan not being Angela's son is a very interesting idea, and very possible, but personally I don't have enough evidence to lean towards one side or the other justtttttttttt yet Wink

I like the idea though - it spices things up even more!

I agree that the Kaito + Angela = Peter/Sylar scenario is very possible, JJ. However, I disagree with your disliking of the mass breeding (I want to help you see the other side of the light! lol). Personally, I think that The Company is so corrupt and more than unconventional (as we have seen in the recent Graphic Novels) that something like mass/selective/special breed was inevitable. I mean, throughout history it's been commonplace for the children of rulers/leaders to take over for their parents in due time. If I had super powers and was one of a bunch of leaders of a group of super-humans, I'd of course want my child to take my place, and considering the fact that super powers is involved, I would want my child to have the 'best' and 'strongest' ability. Peter is the strongest out of anybody we've seen on the show. Maybe because of my morals, I wouldn't selectively breed a child, but Angela seems like the type of person who could and would.

Anyway, sorry for this incredibly long post (which I'm proud of since I haven't gotten to post much recently)!
