But, as I said when this came up before, how does that fit with the news report about the train crash that mentioned the Nuclear Regulatory Commission?
I think it's definitely a possibility that Ted is the nuke, but seeing as there also seems to be possible evidence of an actual nuclear device floating around that came off the train, I'd say it's far from definite that it's Ted.
I agree that Ted is a Red Herring. There's more to the nuke than we know. Either that or it is Ted, and the train wreck was just a throwback to the original villian,
who was supposed to be a super-powered terrorist.
They dropped that idea and went with the Sylar concept instead, thank goodness.
According to your spoiler then, my suspitions are confirmed this show is modled after the movie Unbreakable..
The show certainly borrows from other pop-culture infulences, and doesn't really try to hide that it doesn't. I think they do a good job of borrowing yet coming up with original ideas.
I noticed that if you look closely at Isaacs painting of New York exploding it kinda looks like it could be the upper torso of someone. One of the "hands" is almost touching the Empire State building. The other one looks like it is bent back behind the other tall building in the front of the painting. The "head" is connected to the bottom of the mushroom clouds top. Maybe just my imagination but Maybe you might see it too.
It might just be the power of suggestion, but I can see what you're talking about in that picture.

I'm seeing an interesting parallel between that painting and the 'fire person' in the painting in your avatar... It's not perfect, but it's partially there.
That being said, I had a thought...
Couldn't it be Sylar? If he can control his telekinesis so acutely to freeze bodies solid, is it that much of a stretch to say that he can excite them to the point of burning, and possibly exploding? Or am I missing something there (other than the fact that he seems to need to be close to use his telekinesis and it is generally not good to be near a bomb)?

I think that Peter may be the bomb. Too many heroes came into one area at one time and Peter's power didn't know what to do with all those powers around him...thus the reason the cheerleader shakes her head and says I'm sorry to him. It could also always be the Nuclear guy.
not necesarrily...especially since he's already been mentioned as being around in the future. Future Hiro says "I almost didn't recognize you without your scar".
Peter could still hav some of Isaac's power in him and see the future, but saw himself as the exploder and not nuclear guy.
thats kinda the general idea of what weve been sayin i have a new thread dedicated to theories of why peter blows up you should go their for an answer as to what happened

Nice one, Nefar. At first, I thought Ted would have something to do with Peter being the bomb, meaning that Peter absorbed his powers, was unable to control them, and thus turned NYC into a radioactive mess. However, after seeing tonight's episode and how (1) when he absorbed Matt's power and Matt used it on him, both of them began to get sharp pains in their head, and (2) Peter fainted upon leaving the police station, which I assume was because he had absorbed too much (which I think is what Tim Kring was referring to when he described the negative "side-effect" of Peter's power a few weeks ago), then I definitely think that Peter turning into a bomb because he absorbs too many powers is very likely. However...
Isaac's paintings of the future are not set in stone, thus saving NYC from the "bomb" (Peter) is something that can indeed be done... and my personal opinion is that when we are introduced to Dr. Who (Invisible Man), he will help Peter learn to control his mimic power so that he does not turn into a firey explosion by overheating himself with abilities. After all, in a different thread it was discussed how Invisible Man would serve to be a strict and firm mentor for Peter, one who teaches him how to control his ability. Ahhhhhh.... I can't waittt!

i've always thought the same thing.. and thought they where like trying to do Uru or something.. now since last night episode.. its peter?
What would happen if Peter meets Nikki?
-Peter is so obsesed about saving the world and about stopping the explosion that maybe deep inside him, he just wants all of this to happen to make Nathan believe him and everybody else.
-Peter's alter ego maybe wants the explosion to happen so badly that he could try to do it by himself absorving Sprague's ability.
-The dream he had maybe is when he realized he was acting like other person, and that is why he looked soo confused but maybe yet able to stop it, or someone else to stop it. That dream was maybe induced by Sanhog Iyler.
-In the dream all the heros are like running from him, Claire and Nathan look like dissapointed.
-Nikki loves her husband and Micah, Jessica doesn't, maybe something like these could happen between Peter and Nathan, who had already fought before.
-I guess Peter's future scar was done by Hiro's sword, maybe in NY, when they met in the train Hiro wasn't talking to him like a friend.
-I guess Peter is gonna work for Claire's dad in the future, changing sides.
-The haitian maybe is gonna stop working for Claire's dad.
- What would happen if Peter finds out that Isaac also had something with his girl, while he is acting in alter ego?(NY)
