Maybe someone who could speak to the dead, bring inanimate objects to life, or negate the powers of others. I'm not talking about stealing their powers just that when they are in the presence of another hero, the hero's power won't work. Also there are the cool ones like elemental manipulation.
I think a power yet to be shown on tv or comic books is Void Perception.
It's the ability to inflict massive amounts of distortion, and 'inaccurate information' to all the sense at once. Wether it be a lack or an overload of every sense known to man, and super-human in this case.
Sonic Roar: Can knock things down with the force of his voice.
Ability to see peoples character at a glance? I picture her vision being comic book like in that a persons true character is drawn comic style over them...hehe.
Gravity Embueing...give things more mass/gravitational pull just by touching them, probably has to be couled with ultimate strenght or somethign so he can pick up a pencil, make it weight 10 tons and through it at you
It would be pretty cool if there was someone who had superstrength and superspeed but abilities depended on the location of the sun. For instance, when the sun rises the person power starts to increase, at noon he/she is the strongest they could be, and then their power starts to decrease as the sun goes down. At night , they have no powers.

Or different powers depending on Day/Night.... How about someone who can manipulate Fire during the day, Water at night?
I wonder if the writers read this stuff?
*Edited because I'm anal about my typographical errors*

The power I would like to see is the power of imagination. You can either create anything you can imagine or become anyone. You read a book about martial arts and then the next day you are a master. Mind you I am taking things from Forge from X-men and Jared from Pretender but it would be cool to see something to that affect. Another would probably be the ability to manipulate a persons subconsious. I know it may not seem much but think of it this way. I made your subconsious want to mail me all your credit card numbers. You are going about your business and completely disregard the fact that you are writing them down and mailing them to me. The next time you see your statement and see thousand of dollars worth of charges and you think someone just stole your information from the internet. This is the perfect example of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.
Aside from the mind I would probably pick something else that has to do with physical changes. Maybe something that allows them to break down to basic molecular components and then back again but with some minor changes you want. You can get out of locked rooms (leave through a keyhole or a crack in the window) you can then remove a cancer from your body if you have one or repair damaged cells and broken bones instantly.
Also another interesting ability would be the ability to jump dimensions. How could this be useful? Well you can jump to a different dimension that earth is exactly the same as yours except that it is 10 years in the future. You find your counterpart and ask him information related to your time period and then come back with the possible solutions and problems. (I know this sounds a lot like Hiro but so far we don't know if Hiro can talk to himself if he went forward or backward in time).
The power of imagination might be a little too powerful. It would depend on who had the powers, of course, but I think the imagination is almost a limitless ability.
The power to heal another person. Claire might develop that, as a part of learning how to control her power. If she can't, then someone else should be found who does. Healers of some kind are crucial to any group who must go into danger.
A shield generator would be nice. Defensive powers are great.
I would also like to see someone who is handicapped, retarded or deformed, as a good guy. Someone who is ugly, but is a gentle healer or shield creator would be sweet. It would show that no matter what the problem a person has, they are still valuable.
I'm partial to the latter, i must admit. One of my own characters on an x-men roleplay board has 'Elephant man disease'(proteus syndrome). He's an x-man in training who can create a warp field around himself (and others) to make himself invisible and intangible.
there's an ESP character in one of Brian Lumley's novels kinda like you describe, dancingcrane...
he's a frail little man in very ill health... riddled with disease and even terminally ill, I think.... he can hardly support his own weight, if I remember right... it's been a few years since I read the book
but... his power... is kinda mysterious... he cannot be intentionally harmed.... any being intent on harming him will simply fail in any attempt... he will somehow manage to avoid attacks or fate will simply conspire to foil any malicious action...
*** Spoiler ***
turns out the guy only had one weakness (besides his innate physical frailty)... he could die in an accident... he was only safe from direct actions based on malicious intent... the hero of the book eventually managed to arrange a scenario in which this seemingly invincible villain was frightened into throwing himself off a cliff
I would like to see at least one real but mostly useless power. Along the lines of Mystery Men or Cypher. I keep thinking I saw in a comic once about a guy whose was... 'able to drive any vehicle', an alien rocket, an 18-wheeler, a battleship. Didn't matter what it was - he could drive it.
