Go back so far to just plain stop...like everything with Sylar and such? Later in the show anyways. Create a linear time paradox or just save a parallel time dmiension thing dependong on how you look at it.

I think it will eventually become apparent that Sylar had something to do with the emergence of their powers, so to stop Sylar before the fact would be to stop their powers from developing. That's my theory, at least.

I don't think he is responsible, but his future self will be completely changed, to the point he wouln't be able to go to the past, etc. You see where I'm going with this.

BUt he will also alter his future as mentioned and may not be for the better, so I do not think that would be a good idea, although I would love to see how that pans out.

I really don't think Sylar is the one that distributed the powers to all these people. I think it is as they said, "a hiccup in the gene code" Sylar was basically just the first one discovered.

I think it's possible. Who knows? We may see (several seasons down the road) Hiro and Peter watching future Hiro talking to past Peter in the train. Kind of like a Back to the Future II thing. Time travel leaves the story open to all sorts of interesting plots, I think.

I completely agree.
I think they will need to be careful with the timetraveling. It shouldn't be overused, it could get campy real quick.
