I wonder if a show like "Jericho" can come in and offer SEVEN brand new episodes when everyone else has nothing and thus gain new fans. That would be sweet for that show, especially since I love it!
I think, if the strike takes too long, television in General will suffer. But who cares. I need to cut back my TV viewing anyway. Time to catch-up on some good Anime...! |

Update: Talks between the Writers' Guild and the Producers' Guild are going to start up again the Monday after Thanksgiving! (That's November 26 for the non-Americans on the board)

Hopefully the gap between episode 11 of Heroes and the start of Volume 3 won't be so long after all *crosses fingers*. |

Just a quick note to let you know that the strike appears to have been settled....
WGA, studios reach tentative contract
Does that mean we'll get new "Heroes" episodes this year?
I dunno..... |

Hate to burst your bubbles, but it's not quite over yet. The strike is still on until the members of the WGA vote within these next two days to decide whether to lift the strike order. I don't doubt they'll vote to have it lifted, but that means the strike won't end until the middle of this week.
But Heroes is pretty much done for the season. They'd only be able to shoot 5 episodes at the very most, and do you really think Kring will want the show to suffer another huge mid-season hiatus?
Buckle up for the ride, kiddies. It's a long wait until September.
Maybe this will give the writers a chance to fix the disaster that was Season 2.

Also, I'm moving this to the Strike thread in the Cast and Crew forum.
Edit: Thread merged here. |

| Not only that, but the Actors' contracts are up this year as well, so we may have writers, but no actors. I believe the Directors' stuff was settled a year ago, so that part is ok, but it's the actors next! |

Update from Kristin over at E! News:
Strikewatch Exclusive (Updated)! TV Bosses Reveal What's Next for Our Favorite Shows
Bottom Line?
Heroes (as OF says), is not coming back until the fall...
As per my previous discussions with PK and others, I expect a HUGE re-write. Forget what you imagined was going to happen in Volume 3. Forget ALL OF IT.
That's my only prediction for Season 3 and Volume 3 next fall. |

Ah, Herc beat me to the punch here. Yes, I found it rather heartening to see that Kring is planning to work on a "series bible" to map out the plot of the show.
Hopefully this means the end of those gaping plot holes we were subjected to this past season? *knocks on wood* |

| I know this is pessimistic, but I think Heroes is in a condition similar to Niki's - we don't know if it will be alive come fall. We'll definitely be back to look for it, but how much of the audience will feel season 2 was so compelling that they'll still be interested in 7-8 months? And while the writers' strike may have been justified (I don't have enough information, so I'll just give the benefit of the doubt), I'm not all that happy with the job they were doing BEFORE they went on strike. |
