What could turn Nathan from a lawyer willing to take down his own father to being in the pocket of Linderman?? It's not the sleeping with Nikki. Nathan was already going to Vegas to see Linderman before he slept with her. And it's got nothing to do with money. The Petrelli family has plenty of that. So what possibly could Linderman have that could have gotten to Peter prior to his meeting up with Nikki??

My theory on this is that Linderman, being a man who likes to tape things (he did afterall tape that "session" between Nikki/Jessica and Nathan) had his thugs taping him running Nathan off the road. In the process of taping that, they also caught on tape Nathan flying. Nathan, fearing being labelled some sorta freak, would do anything to prevent that tape from being made public, so, he starts "working" for Linderman.

Whatta you guys think?

it could be a simple as Linderman knows that Nathan is right man to payoff to keep from being prosecuted. I don't believe the Petrellis are poor, but I do not believe that they enough money to finance a congressman's campaign on their own either. Linder man gets a return on his investment by not being prosecuted and Nathan gets his campaign funded.

AN INTERESTING THEORY THAT COULD BE A POSSABILITY. THO I WOULDNT GO AS FAR AS THINKING LINDERMAN WAS A VOYER OF SOME SORT CAUSE, MY OPINION, HE TAPED NATHAN AND NIKKI TO BLACKMAIL NATHAN AGAINST HIS CAMPAIGN. AND ONLY THE STUPID PEOPLE WHO TAPE THEIR WRONG DOINGS GET CAUGHT! BUT ONLY TIME WILL TELL.

I think Nathan is out to git Linderman, hes just keeping his enemies close, they took his wifes health, possibly had something to do with his Dads heart attack(in my mind) hes black mailing him or soon will be, Nathans gunna take him down as soon as he can figure out how.

Or mom could not know. He could have been killed and it was made to look like a suicide. But that would be hard considering she found him on the floor of their bathroom and he had tried twice before and he had chronic depression, which there's a chance Peter has according to his mom.

I also think Nathan is just making deals with Linderman. He wants money for his campaign, so Linderman gives it in return for favors at a later date, such as a bill he doesn't want to pass or something. That's the way Linderman works. He gave Nikki money and called on her for a favor later. He gets power over people.

I think that part of Linderman's deal was to benefit him immediately. Linderman was probably aware that the DA's office was about to move forward with charges against him. It is rare that the DA would seek an indictment in a high profile case without having some solid evidence. Some of that evidence appeared to be a deposition of Peter. Linderman's payoff to Nathan ensures that he will not be prosecuted and the tape of Niki is a backup blackmail plan.

I was under the impression that Nathan wasn't going to move forward with the prosecution after their dad died. In "Six Months Ago" Nathan tells Peter that there won't be a deposition because their dad is dead. It seems that they just dropped the case. So why would Linderman be concerned that Nathan was still going to prosecute?

There certainly is something weird going on here. Something obviously made Nathan switch sides. Why would he even take money from a man who was the most likely cause of an accident that left his wife paralyzed? I'm not sure about Linderman taping this thugs running the car off the road and accidentally catching Nathan flying. But I do think the thugs could have just seen Nathan flying and reported back to Linderman. If, by any chance, Dad Petrelli had any powers, perhaps Linderman knew and suspects it might run in the family.

This opens up a can of worms for me. The thoughts are rushing through my brain so I might have more on this.
