We know that Peter rushed in to save Claire, pretty much without regard to personal safety. I think he will also rush in to handle Nuke Man (Ted), and I think that is how he gets his scar. Theoretically he will have the same powers as Nuke Man.
I don't think peter used a specific ability It's his own ability from taking in all those powers...but peter didn't blow up in the promo, The Explosive energy went Inside instead of out then his eyes lit up...I also believe that peter didn't blow up NY I just think that peter thinks he blew up NY based on his dream but his dreams are never 100% right in fact they're never right don't take the dream literally because he's never correct. close! but never right.
Perhaps what we're assuming is Peter's explosive end is him actually learning to channel this force, and put it to a more constructive use.. who knows? We'll have to watch and see. However, I really do like the suspense, as it keeps for some interesting theories and speculations along with some serious deductive work as well.

i think there's something to Peter's vision, but he overlooks it just as we as an audience seem to be doing. At the end of the vision he seems to reverse the energy and return it into himself. we've gotten so captivated by the thought of an exploding man.
here's some rough speculation. I think that Peter gets instructions by the invisible man on how to control his powers. I believe those instructions are going to teach him how to block out other powers and focus solely on one at a time. remember how when matt let all the voices in, he lost control? similar to that, one at a time and he's fine, more and he gets sick.
the heroes find the bomb in nyc. It's centered around Nathan's campaign headquarters. i believe that he uses ted's ability to suck up the energy of whatever it is. Since he can only mimic one ability at a time, claire can't help him(her mouthing i'm sorry) And then there's Nathan. Peter has to play the hero right in front of him, right in front of his election headquarters, ruining everything as usual. Possibly Peter dies from the experience.
I don't think Ted is the bomb, it's just too obvious, but i could be wrong. I personally feel that Ted will be shot/apprehended by the police and Peter will have to act in his place. And i don't think that Sylar is involved either, though he may get free and kill Isaac in his apartment (fulfilling Hiro's initial trip into the future). we'll find out more in January.

i doubt that isaac will die, but i wanted to put that out there as a kind of circularity of storytelling. coming back full circle. here's why i doubt he'll die. future hiro sets peter on a path different from what has happened in his timeline. By stopping Sylar from harvesting Claires ability then the assumption is that the original timeline is broken. Isaac's death was on that original timeline so his death in that manner and at THAT time is probably broken as well.
BUT
to me the bomb timeline still exists unbroken and just as charlies death still happened even though Hiro tried to stop it, Isaac's death may still happen.
Sylar MAY escape and continue harvesting powers, Isaac May go back to his apartment to get supplies, Hiro may get bumped out of space/time for a bit because he was there running around new york (I DID IT) previously and unable to warn isaac.
I'm definitely not saying i want Isaac dead, just that it may happen
I believe that Peter is NOT the bomb that Hiro sees. Here is a little image I made explaining that:
It may look, from this picture, that Peter's watch doesn't say 7:35, but that's because it is upside down.
Hiro has the date wrong, but I highly doubt that he went an entire day in New York with his watch set wrong. When asked 'When did this all happen?', Hiro replies 'Yesterday!'
Hiro spent a day and a half in NY, plenty of time to realize his watch is set to the wrong time. Therefore, I think Hiro's watch is an accurate marker for when the bomb went off.

I don't know about that...he did time-travel/teleport across time zones. I forget...did he end up in Times Square at the same time of day (disregarding date, obviously) that he left Tokyo?
we still dont know how claire makes the world saved...
Yes we do. Sylar needs her power to keep his own "TISSUE" from degrading. Simple as that.
Oh...wow...it actually may be as simple as that! Good catch.
The reason is: Sylar is degrading as a result of "absorbing" multiple powers a side effect if you will. He DOES need claires ability to regenerate so that he can STABILIZE himself and stop the degradation of his TISSUES. Claire Bennet represents contninuous TISSUE REPAIR to Sylar / Mr. Gray as in Gray Matter / Brain. He will die otherwise. Killing everyone else at a certain point became the search for Claire's specific ability. We all know that he knows who is on the list, but did you know that the list doesn't tell who has what ability. The only way for Sylar to find out is to kill and absorb. In doing so he has become physically unstable. That's why he NEEDS Claire's power. Now, imagine that he has Claire's
power. He is now invincible because he can't be stopped no matter what! He can keep on killing and absorbing without any side effects whatsoever.
