AF - is he really in the photo? He shouldn't be. Various folk (including Maury) indicated they all got their powers at the same time and managed to find each other. He is from a way older generation of heroes. He may well have been the reason the 12 found each other -- to protect themselves from him and any gang he had managed to get around him. Rob
Well actually, Action, Insider stated that he was locked in a prison for 30 years, not a coffin... but I guess that still doesn't change your thoughts much... I agree that the picture doesn't look anywhere near 30 years old though - something's fishy.
But perhaps we're calling them the 'original' 12 for a reason - someone might have mentioned this, but what if Kensei was locked in prison by Kaito and the leftover 11 chose a replacement for him? It would explain how he was one of the 'original' 12, and it would also give him reason for killing the remaining 8.
My thoughts...
1. Action- about the original 12, photo, and Kensei as Adam Monroe-- I have the same problem (and posted the similar thing in a different thread). Kensei would have been locked up during the photo, so if Adam Monroe was in the photo then he is dead and Kensei is now using his name and information. I'm doubting Adam Monroe is in the picture though because he is not an original member.
2. Peter could have killed Kaito, but I don't like it. Why the pictures with symbols? Why the "of all of them"? ... He certainly could do it, but I'm hesitant to believe it if it involved time travel. Why go to that moment to do it?
3. Nathan also is a good candidate as Herc pointed out. I'm not interested in another split personality thing though and I doubt the writers will give us that after the blah that Niki/Jessica got. However, Nathan could be pissed off about a number of things with the older generation that wanted to use him and Peter. How the symbols and photos fit in though--- ???
4. That said, I really don't see another character being the killer other than those above and Kensei/Adam Monroe... The "of all of them' line is confusing though. This seems to imply that one of the original members is killing the others off. For Kensei to be the killer we will need to be shown or told that not everyone is in the picture.
5. Counterpoint--- I'm starting to think that the "of all of them" was not referring to original members, but rather those that were wronged by the original members. Thus, back to 1-4. Kensei is a likely answer, but would not have surprised Kaito, unless Kaito thought he was still locked up. Peter and Nathan would have surprised Kaito.
Key Questions
1. Did Kaito think Kensei was still locked up?
2. When did Kensei start going by the name Adam Monroe? After he escaped prison or before he got locked up? Before being locked up makes more sense, but why the name Adam Monroe (go ask Popkorn)
3. Does the company know that Adam Monroe is Kensei?
4. If Kaito knew that he locked up Kensei 30 years ago before Hiro was even born then why tell Hiro all the great stories about Kensei?
This leads me to believe that Kaito and the company does not know that Adam Monroe is Kensei. Thus, all they know is that Adam Monroe is a threat, they imprisoned him, and he escaped eventually. Thus we should know that Adam Monroe is not an original member.
"Of all of them" does not refer to original members, but rather those that were wronged, so our list of potential killers is longer-- but we've been told that it is someone we know (we've been told this via a spoiler, right???)
My thoughts...

The symbol fits as follows: It appears all of the original 12 used it somehow during their lives because of its meaning (it probably has several meanings). Ok, so, for Nathan, it was the Symbol of his dad's law firm. So that's why he would be using it.
But the minute I say that, another point somebody else brought-up comes to mind (no, it's not my point, sadly, someone else thought of it first). The absolute first time the symbol was used historically was by Kensei in Japan (could be even before then). Therefore, it's logical to suggest that he is the killer...
I scanned the other active posts quickly and didn't see this mentioned yet. I couldn't help but notice Peter wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt last night...
Anybody see the spoiler pic posted recently showing Milo, Hayden, and David sitting together? I think both Milo and David were wearing outfits matching what they were wearing in the final scene of "Out of Time." Can anybody confirm? I've lost the link to the pic.

It sure looks like it. Here's the picture you were referring to.
The killers revealed? But like Greg Beaman's blog says: Who actually did the deed?
If it was Adam, how come he got-up an walked away from the crime scene so quickly that Ando did not see him?
I have never placed any stock on the "gunshot" theory, but what the hell was Kaito's power? AND, if it was Adam, WHY THE HELL would Kaito say: "Of all them, I did not expect it to be you?"
Precisely why I don't think it was Adam who killed Kaito - there wasn't enough time between the initial impact and Ando running to the edge for Adam to run away in time without being noticed.
And, it could go either way with the quotation:
"Of all of them, I never thought it would be you (Adam, because we locked you in prison."
OR
"Of all of them, I never thought it would be you (Peter, because you are someone who is able to love unconditionially, and murder is not in your character)"
I agree PK. I tend to believe more in the second quote (how you interpret it) than the first. After all, for all Kaito knew, he was locked-up.
Though, I will say, how would Kaito now that Peter is fighting for the light, unless he himself is fighting for the light-side? What the heck is Kaito's power? Because we never met him in Hiro's and Kensei's past!!! (Didn't we expect to? Didn't we expect to meet the Dragon?)
i was thinking about it today, and maybe Kaito's quote isn't really meant to shed light on Kensei as much as it is to shed light on the characters of the other 9.
What I mean is:
"Of all of them, I never thought it could be you (because you weren't even the worst of them. Maury is a creep and we've all been killing people and doing underhanded things, at least you've been locked away)."
"Of all of them, I never thought it would be you (Peter, because you are someone who is able to love unconditionially, and murder is not in your character)"
Thoughts?
If it was Peter.. Why the hell did Peter run him off the building ? Why not just use teleknis and throw him down, kill him with electricity or simply punch him to death with super strength ? Seems odd to me ..
Could Kaitos power be anything like Haydens .. ? as in Blocking others ppl abillitys, just a different power ?
The killer is more than likely "Peter Petrelli's" father. We "know" of him, but do not know him directly. He is working with Adam Monroe and/or being manipulated by him. If the killer is not Senior Petrelli, it is Peter Petrelli being manipulated by Adam Monroe in a twisted mind game, exacting revenge for the original group "klling his father". In fact, they may have been the ones to imprison Senior Petrelli all along. I find it hard to believe that the "disciples of Adam Monroe: Linderman, WTTB, whom Angela Petrelli was closely associated with, would be attacked by the very person she 'served" (Adam Monroe) Afterall, she kept pushing for Nathan to pursue the path of Linderman's plans, which ultimately would have been that of Monroes in Season 1. Whos is doing the killing then? Who would go against the company: Senior Petrelli. He must have some "mimic/fluctuating power" that gives him multiple abilities, if but only on a different scale than Peter's. (He was the one locked up.) Now: the company appears to be against Adam Monroe, when in fact they are "manipulating" everyone, whether for Monroe or their own morbid agenda remains to be seen. WTTB/Matt Parkman's father is the "Nightmare Man", but I doubt he is working for Monroe. (Disinformation my friend!!! & the "Company" is good at it.)
Lets only hope that Peter can "see" through all of Monroe's manipulation. He knows "Hiro" is good, just as he is. In my mind, they both will save the world, but it will ultimately be Peter as the key. (Remember his future mother: Angela Petrelli - she seemed so different & told "Past' Peter in the future exactly what he needed to know. WE SHALL SEE ! ! !
