If I recall correctly, someone on the NBC forum said something like "So if Peter is helping Adam Monroe, then I think it was him who travelled to 'Four Months Later' as the hooded figure in order to kill Kaito for Adam."
And if I remember correctly, you responded with something like, "It's pointing in that direction," or "that seems to be the case." Can you confirm this, because I can't find the exact post (I think NBC admins might have deleted it).
And if Future/Present Peter is actually the killer, maybe I'll change my profession from musician to detective! lol... does the FBI or CIA have any openings?
As the tide turns and all our theories on Kaito's (and the Original 12) killer changes I think of a few things.
1) If Kensei was the killer then Kaito wouldn't say "Of all of them I didn't expect you." Because he would expect Kensei to be a bit pissed at that point.
2) If they had Kensei locked up for 30 years would Kaito and Angela really be that puzzled about who is killing them off? When an unknown wants revenge I'd assume you'd make a list of people it could be and I'm pretty damn sure Kensei would be right there near the top.
3) If it was Peter who killed Kaito I go in two directions:
a) Present Peter probably wouldn't be apart of "THEM" when Kaito says "Of all of them I didn't expect you." Kaito would probably try and reason with present Peter explaining himself and trying to reason with him on the notion that whoever he's helping is evil.
b) It could be future Peter only b/c if there was a future timeline when Peter may have became somewhat of a bad guy in helping Kensei-- thus becoming apart of "THEM" in "Of all the people..."
NOW--- I could see Peter blindly helping someone but only if he had some good solid reasoning behind it. If Arthur Patrelli was helping Kensei (possibly the man who sprung Kensei from prison) then Peter would have a reason to help... Other than that "I saved your brother" doesn't really cut it for me as a reason to help kill and pillage for Kensei
good point. forgot to keep that line in mind. kensei would be an obvious answer. peter is a possibility but still not fully convinced about his future self. i still wanna know more about this liquid man.
Heroesaddict you make some good points, especially when you take that line into account.
I guess the answer is a two parter:
(a) If it is Future Peter, then maybe, as PK has previously indicated, he has interacted with the 12 and they know him. They MUST know him for that line to work.
(b) It's somebody else. But who? Nathan? Nightmare man? Arthur Petrelli? That last one could be a possibility. But then we go back to some improbabilities, and plot holes....
So obviously the killer is the one we'd least expect to have an axe to grind with Kaito. Who would that be?
I have three:
Peter, Nathan, and Hiro.
Take your pick.
Knock it down to Peter and Nathan. I really doubt it's Hiro. Why would Kaito speak to him in English, when he knows that both he and Hiro understand Japanese better?
Here we go.....
Well I still think there could be more possibilities than Nathan and Peter but I sort of wanna take Peter off the list.
We are talking like "future Peter" could be the killer, but if he's from the future than Kaito would already be dead by then and he wouldn't know Peter as one of "them".
Now if Peter becomes "time travelling Peter" and Kaito remembers when Angela's son came from the future and did blah, blah, blah--- theeeennnnnn you could see Kaito saying "of all of them"... BUUUUT, (and I'm fuzzy how to keep the timeline arguments straight) If Peter was a time traveler and since he went to the future first (in which he would've already killed Kaito), when he went back in time to "become one of 'them'" then he may have either A) tried to kill Kaito then to avenge Kensei before he gets put into prison (assuming he's doing kensei's dirty work) B) found a different side of Kaito as the group is new and ambitious to help people---thus changing Peter's mind forever.... Make sense? With all that rambling I want to mark Peter OFF the list.... Nathan--- is another story.
Nathan is currently full of hate for something. Whether for himself, his mother or society in general, we don't know. But we do know that he is certainly unhappy at this point--- leaving him succeptable to making bad decisions in an attempt to "right wrongs" or to make things "better."
If Nathan found out from Kensei (since he supposedly helped save Nathan after the bomb) what the company was about and that Kaito (seemingly the CEO of the company) was responsible for the death of his brother... Nathan might be ok with killing Kaito. And he would also fit in with "Of all the people I didn't expect you." I simply think that Nathan is old enough, mature enough and a prominent enough figure in society to gain respect from Kaito enough for him not to talk down but to share disappointment in his fearful statement.
Thinking hard tends to do that to you! Doh! I hope you're ok.....
You know.... I just had a revelation! What if Nathan seeing himself in the mirror ALL THE TIME is like a clue for us. You know, like at the beginning of Season 1, Niki kept seeing herself in the mirror and somebody not quite her was staring back!
What if it really is Nathan that killed Kaito, BUT the Nathan that killed him doesn't really manifest day-to-day. Nathan has a split personality like Niki!!! That would answer the dilemma. And the writers and director have been giving us the clue all this time, by letting us see Nathan see himself in the mirror!
Nathan has split into two personalities. There is good Nathan and bad Nathan.... you think? It's possible, because he got cured with Kensei's blood... We don't know what that could have done to him... Also, he was in proximity to his brother who has been exposed to Niki/Jessica....
I think whoever killed Kaito did so at someone else's wishes, so I don't think that they'll introduce anybody else with a split personality dilemma. The main reason I don't like the theory, Herc, is because too much split personality stuff would make this show too boring - I can understand duplicate powers, because this show is all about abilities, but split personality is not an 'ability.'
