Episode 20 refers to "The Linderman Act" being passed a year after the explosion.
Would this be an act aimed at, or created by, Linderman? |

It's probably in memory of Linderman, aimed at all specials. Most acts that are named after people are because of something they've done, or because they've been victims of something.
For example, the Jessica Lunsford Act is named after Jessica Lunsford, a girl who was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a repeat offender. It's an infamous case here in Florida. It's not passed yet, but it's aimed at making state governments track released offenders more strictly. Any state that fails to conform to the guildlines in the Act loses funding.

But anyway, it's probably something that Nathan thought of in memory of Linderman somehow, and I think it has to do with removing the specials' right to breed and limits where they can go and when they can be outside, stuff Nathan/Sylar mentioned to Mohinder early on in the episode. Linderman believed there would be a bright future ahead if Nathan became president and allowed the bomb to happen, what better name to name an Act that is trying to "preserve" this vision of his? |

| Which prompts the question - What did Linderman do to prompt an act to be named after him? |

I don't know. Right now it seems to me that it's an ironic twist that an act named after a special (who had envisioned a fabulous future after the bomb) would be created to contain and eventually bring specials to extinction in order to protect this "fabulous future."
What he actually did to deserve it being named after him is beyond me. Maybe we'll find out in an upcoming episode. |

| I'm wondering about the timeline of the act, myself. Someone had to start it, and a five year timeline would have Nathan taking office pretty early on in the final year or two (1st year: election, 2nd year: takes office in congress, 3rd/4th year: presidential elections, 4th/5th: nathan takes office). I wonder if Nathan started the bill in time so that, by the time it got through congress and the house, he'd be president and would have the veto power over it. |

It is possible that the "Linderman Act" really does not focus on Daniel Linderman being an evolved man but simply as the victem of such a man's crime, seeing as he is killed by DL Hawkins in "how to stop an exploding man".
As a previous post states that it is common practise to name pieces of legislature after victims so this is certaily a reasonable hypothesis.
I further see no reason as to why Linderman would not have been killed in the "alternative future" and could therefore not himself have proposed the act. |

Well, with all of the hype about season 3, and Linderman making a "comeback" in this season, there's going to be quite a few threads that are going to be reopened.
However, my assumption is that Linderman is only going to return in backstory.
That's it.
He's DEAD.
When/if we DO see him, it will be flashbacks in order to give us more depth to the storyline we're following, and not a new scene with a living, breathing Linderman in the present tense.
Anyway, I love the sarcasm Action! Keep up the great spoiler detective work! |
