The Haitian has been able to do multiple feats on the show. From having some sort of aura of power negation or mind wiping. But the fact of the matter is that he is no "Leech" from X-Men.
The Hatian's power (if not stated previously) is to turn off or disable aspects of the mind and brain. This makes him powerful since all of the supers gain their abilities from their brain. Also this would explain him mind wiping everyone he comes upon.
Well, there's my two cents on him since not much is known about him and newcomming Heroes fans might need a jump start.
I'd argue that the haitian is a telepath. Think Professor X, minus the telekinesis. as stated by hornedrimmed, most of these powers are held in the brain. Without as much exposure as most of us would like, I can't tell for sure, but I'm relatively certain that the haitian would be ineffective against Claire. With her power being a definite physical, almost reflexive skill, I would surmise that she's different. My biggest argument for this is Matt, the Cop. Matt's power is completely mental, making him particularly sensitive to someone poking in his brain. He's a receiver. He opens his mind to read someone elses, leaving him especially vulnerable

Xavier doesnt have TK lol. He is only a telepath. He can have people do things like hold guns to others heads by altering thoughts through telepathy that is why he has Jeanne do the tk to baddies. He is only a lvl 4 telepathic mutant Making him strong enough to mentally have the power to kill all life if he really wanted, as to where Jeanne can kill them all with either telepathy or tk.
Well, level 4 telekinetic or even level 4 mutant means nothing in the heroes world.
not if you think of it on edens behalf. IF she went on tv for a news break and decided to tell everyone to kill themselves she could kill all .... well not the haitian or hrg if he is with him.
yah but if you think about hrg doesnt really hang out with MWG but he does when their on a mission and does anyone know what HRG does for a living becuase he was at some agency but yah so he probably would kill himself with the broadcast

So we've seen the Hatian use his powers several times. I wanna know just what exactly his powers are. We know...
1) He can make people forget long periods of time.
2) He can do it well enough to give someone amnesia.
3) He can nullify Matt's and Eden's powers.
4) He can knock people out.
Here's my theory. Matt and Eden both have powers involving other people's minds (mind reading and mind control). I think the Hatian's power is that he can block off parts of people's minds. When he makes them forget, he closes off part of their memory. When he's blocking Matt's power, he blocks off either the person who's mind Matt is reading from outside influences or the part of Matt's brain that hears other people's thoughts. When he blocks off Eden's power, he blocks off the part of people's minds thats open to suggestion. When he knocks them out, he either blocks the part that makes them remember to breath or just the entire brain.
he cant knock people out. Where did you get that idea? Matt was drugged they said. If he could knock them out then why have eden say go to sleep when he coulda just made him knock out from the start. I do agree with the rest though. I just think the Haitian, Matt, and Eden are all a triple split version of Professor X in power. Now this is not to get back into the xmen thing just simply stating that their powers combined would make him.

I assumed he knocked out Sylar using his powers in Homecoming. Now that I think about it, it could have been a drug covered cloth, but I still think it was his powers.

well I dont think that he stops them from using that part of the brain but instead he has a general mind block almost like a wall or force feild to closethe connection to other peoples brains and doesnt physically stop them
