Perhaps Chandra became frustrated with not being able to find any Heroes and created his own. Thus, Patient Zero. Maybe?

True about the RNA, Jjafargi. It is plausible that it's caused by a disease. I just don't see it being a virus, unless that virus is a mutagen that has random results (ie causes different powers), and somehow spreads the mutation throughout the specified organ(s). That or it affects the birth of someone, making them a mutant.

It could alos be that the part of you that is affected by the virus is random and that its location affects your power, ie the Virus affected Matt's brain.

I dunno, I just don't see it being a virus, even though it's plausible.

I do wish I could read that book. I doubt whatever he did to Sylar is in the book 1) cause it's probably illegal, or secret, and 2) the book was published a long enough time ago that it was before he interacted with Sylar enough to write anything about it.
