Okay, so the deal now is ... IMDB has listed Sean Bean as being "Paul Sylar", and Zachary Quinto as being "Sylar".

What we know, thusfar:

- Paul Sylar was born in 1962 (according the newspaper clipping in the apartment).
- Actor Sean Bean has been credited, as Paul Sylar, the dark-baseball cap wearing individual in episode where he attempted to kidnap Molly Walker (Bean's actual actor age is close enough to match a character born in 1962).
- Actor Zachary Quinto has been credited, as "Sylar" the dark-baseball cap wearing individual in ep. 8 where he supposedly killed Charlie(waitress), and is also seen in the previews for HOMECOMING.

This information yields two theories, of which I can think.
1. - These two actors are playing two separate (most likely related) characters, both bearing the name SYLAR..or...
2. - These two actors are playing the same character, Paul Sylar.

Either way, the Sylar we are reading about in the newspaper clip that was born in 1962, and the person we saw last episode...are certainly differnt ages. NO WAY is Zachary Quinto playing a 44 yr old man. And, yes, it is OBVIOUS he is the actor portraying Sylar in ep 8. If you have it on tape/dvr...slow-mo it through the 2-3x he is shown...quite obvious. At any rate, it is not matching up.

Anyone else picked up on this???

Maybe they are 2 seperate characters working together to appear is if they are just 1 character. Yoda said that there are always 2 sith, 1 master and one apprentice.

I suspect that this is a bit of viral marketing to further the mystery behind Sylar. And it's working, and I like it. Smile

What if we NEVER found out who played Sylar? If no actor was ever credited, and we never got a clear look at his face? If they could pull it off, that would be a very interesting trick indeed.

And, agreed SuperiorHiro...Kring is definitately up to something. I am hopeful it is revealed, before season's end. I know Kring has said, many times, that Sylar is the villian for Season 1. BUT...Sylar who?... 44 yr old Paul Sylar, 27 yr old Sylar, or some other Sylar???

Neither... One man has played Sylar on the show. Zachary Quinto. Sean Bean's people already confirmed he will NOT be playing Sylar. IMDB can be altered by anyone, just like Wikipedia.

So I am to believe that Zachary Quinto, a 28 yr old actor (at time of filming) is portraying a 44 yr old man? I don't think so.

Either his character has time traveled from the late 1980s ... or there are two characters named Sylar.

IF, Quinto appeared to look older, I could go for it, but he is QUITE youthful looking, as evidence by casting in "So, Notorious" with Tori Spelling. Quinto plays Sasan, a youthful, openly gay Persian-American in his 20s. I am aware of actor range, but come'on.

Maybe (big maybe here) I could go for it, IF it was only a 10 yr difference, but it is like 16 years. I am struggling to except the writers/creator/casting director of Heroes would be so careless, after being so detailed with the storyline and character development, thusfar.

The former DR WHO is reported to be joining the cast of Heroes, but there is no indication that I have found as to what role he will play.
