Thankfully, the stuff that happened to me, was not as bad as what happened to .Vault and his friend.

In fact, I was asked, by my brother-in-law to "babysit" or "petsit" his two dogs....

I also had to take care of my friend's and his wife's 2 tropical fish while they went on vacation....

And on top of that, I had two interviews....

Did I also mention that it rained a lot during this time?

But the thing is, my brother was in an accident.... He had surgery yesterday... He is going to be OK now, he got thru the night ok. He went thru a lot of pain last night. The worst part was his right leg and right ankle busted. He will have to live with metal plates and screws in it for the rest of his life. Being indestructible would have been a nice power to have.....

So yeah.... I have been going thru a lot of helping people and a job change and on top of all of that, my brother gets hurt.

So, it seems, I have missed a lot of stuff on the boards, Including this "insider" fellow, huh? Well Monday's (10/29) episode rocked... And I am back!

The dogs are back where they belong.
The fish are going back tomorrow.
The brother leaves the hospital tomorrow (God willing?) on crutches.

Oh yeah, and I have another interview.... Better getter to bed, I guess.

Hope your brother gets well soon. At least the worst was his leg..if he gets to go home tomorrow, it sounds like he's going to be fine.

Good luck with the interviews. I'm sure you'll do just fine, though. Smile

Yeah, part of the problem for my brother is the fact that he is in fact a bit overweight (keep telling him to lose weight, but he has a high pressure job). In addition, he has high blood pressure and a heart condition. So, his whole stay in the Hospital has not been nice. For example, morphine has done nothing for him. Anyhow, he is probably going home Thursday now -- I was a bit optimistic before. The other injuries have to heal. But they did step him down to a monitored room only, so that's good news.

But seriously, for the sake of my niece and my nephew, I have to convince him to lose weight....Oh well....

Do you believe in things happening in threes?

Well, as I had told Zonedancer in a PM or another thread, we had an Aunt who suffered a mild stroke a few weeks ago.

Then this happens to my brother (the accident).

Then yesterday, my wife gets a call from one of her longtime friends who tells us that her husband (who was an alcoholic and depressed) has killed himself....

My goodness!

Hopefully, that's it for bad news. The 3s are over with.

I don't want anything else bad to happen.

So, do you believe that bad things happen in threes (3s)?

Sometimes I think it's harder
watching the ones you love in pain
than experiencing the pain yourself.

Sadly enough it does seem like when something bad happens, it does occur in 3's. This of course isn't always true, but when you're down, seems like nothing goes right. Keep your head up Herc! Good times are just around the corner!

Sorry to hear about your brother, hope he gets better soon. And yeah, bad things do seem to happen in threes. Keep it up, the three's over now, so good things ought to start happening soon!

Thank you Sikorsky for the sentiments.

This Thankgiving season, I have that many more reasons to be thankful.

And BTW, I love your "handle" or "name" on this forum... Sikorsky. Reminds me of the great Helicopter designer!
