I found it weird that Peter and Mohinder didn't recognise eachother (at Mohinder's place) from the time when they were in the cab. The same goes for Charlie and Hiro. If Hiro gave her the Japanese book in the past, why didn't she recognise him when he went to the café for the first time???
edit: forget the Charlie thing, I just found out in the ep. 10 synopsis thread :

Tonights episode showed charlie saying she had a blood clot in her brain and that she was dying. I'm guessing that the future was changed and that she died before syler could kill her, of an anuerism. The alter they kept showing with all the pictures and whatnot has indeed been misleading. She was dead, its just that she wasn't killed. People weren't crying because they knew the death was coming. She remembered that hiro was from the future and guessed as much in the future when they "first" met. She was dropping clues with the book and the ticket to see if he was the same hiro. Its why she said hiro was sweet, because it was the same feelings. |
edit2: Hmmm... I've seen ep.8 again, and if she really DID meet Hiro in the past, then Hiro would've already been in the picture together with her, and then she would still be killed by Sylar (since Hiro would've created the future where she's killed by Sylar, if you know what I mean) ...
edited by mod to include charcter names in the title of the thread

| I agree with you uinku! Time travel is confusing as hell on this show. If unaltered Hiro went to burnt toast cafe, meet charlie for the first time in his unaltered state, how can she get the book from him if the future hasnt happened yet? cause i see it as she hadnt been killed yet so at that point she shouldnt of had the book until.....awww crap i confused myself again! Blasted! |

Ok let me try it again...
Ep 8 takes place in present time... Hiero and charlie never met before...
ep 10 takes place 6 months in the past small changes are made in the present, but that would not effect their interaction in ep 8 because Hiero didn't jump back til AFTER she was dead. During ep 9 people in the diner had knowledge of Hiero in that present time because he had jumped back. Charlie is Dead in Ep 9 so there isn't any point to how she greeted him because in present time shes dead... now if he were able to come back just moments before he and Ando arrived at the dinner ... that would be a different story but it doesn't seem possible for him to travle through time like that.
in order for Charlie to have recognized Hiero ep 7 would have had to be "6 months ago" but that couldn't happen either because Hiero wouldn't have had a reason to go back in time then... |

That doesn't really explain the Japanese book that she got tho. And I don't really understand your theory, it doesn't make any sense to me :S (the part that he jumps back after she's dead) |

Uh, I agree with this. When I was rewatching the episodes last night, that really bugged me. I mean, they were at least relatively chatty in the cab, and then when Peter shows up at his apartment, neither of htem remembered each other. I guess that could be attributed to the whole, you don't always remember everything about your day-to-day activities. I mean, after the cab ride, they both experienced a little trauma - HRG hopped in the cab and freaked Mohinder out, which could mean he totally forgot about that guy who was in his cab during the eclipse. And Peter ended up at Isaac's while he was overdosed, then saw the painting of him flying, then he tried to. Slight trauma + the commonness of random conversation is probably the easiest thing to chalk that not-recognizing situation up to. |

Time travel itself is soooo confusing. Time is confusing!
I don't think it's really weird about Peter and Mohinder not recognizing each other. I mean, when I go to a supermarket or something, I don't remember what my check-out teller person looks like, even if we did talk. And yeah, especially after much bigger things happen. The little seemingly insignificant things become even more insignificant. |

But the thing was that Mohinder was observing Peter very carefully through the mirror. So that's why it bothered me so much. And this is a television series, and two major character meet eachother, doesn't that mean something, you know?
Oh, and Biderbeck..... I'm just curious, why do you always spell 'Hiro' as 'Hiero'?? |
