| If Sylar can perceive the future with Isaac's ability, & Telekinesis is "mind over matter" & is a perception-based altering of reality, could he have telekinetically stopped/startled Hiro in the last episode (when his eye "moved" while Hiro was in "null-time") from his past self? I know this isn't worded very well, but the theory is so jumbled & spontaneous I had to get it down before I misremembered or forgot it entirely!!! |

| Are you asking if he somehow telekinetically moved while time was stopped? |

I think what you're saying is that Sylar used a combination of precognition and TK to project his consciousness forward in time to when he was supposed to be "stopped." The precognition allowed him to be aware of the future, and TK allowed him to act.
Let me know if that's close!
My response to that (if that's what you meant) is that stopped time is between one moment and the next, while the future would have to be a particular moment. If we imagine time like a conveyor belt, we are carried past things I'm imagining to be events or situations. Time travel or projecting your consciousness forward would be like moving to a different part of the conveyor belt. But Hiro can turn the conveyor belt off and make it stop.
There's something wrong with the analogy, but I can't put my finger on it. Something to do with interacting with events.
Anyway, I thought Hiro lost his nerve, and time started up again. Just as Sylar moved his eyes, his mother finished falling to the floor. |

I find it likely that Hiro needed only freeze time to get himself into position - he dropped it as soon as he apologized and attempted the swing. In a perfect reality, he'd have sliced Sylar's head off in an honorable fashion (I'm not very knowledgeable with the Bushido code, but I'm sure that it'd probably be better to not kill a man while he's immobile...). Hiro gave him a "fighting chance", he just didn't realize that Sylar would be able to react as quickly as he did, nor did he expect him to break the sword. So... I'm leaning more towards Hiro trying to do the right thing than him chickening out now. |
