| How can I respond to that, nice research. I just want kryptonite to be what is was, and not fabricated. One irregular type of kryptonite equals one too many for me But Smallville has introduced three types of kryptonite that have never been viewed by the comic book readers. You know one of them, can you find the other two? |
Ah, upon further researxh, it appears that Black Kryptonite ("Onyx") didn't appear in DC comic continuity until AFTER it was introduced on Smallville. And the effects of Red Kryptonite are entirely different from the comics. in which the effects are random and Superman becomes immune to each effect after experiencing it only once. As for Silver Kryptonite, it was a hoax for Superman's "Silver (50th) Anniversary" in comic continuity, and had no effects whatosoever. |

No, "Hydro" will be the first episode post-hiatus, with "Justice" and "Labyrinth" (the Martian Manhunter resurfaces in this one) following. And the introduction of the Green Arrow is the only thing that's kept the show going this season, otherwise it would have surely been cut by the network! |
Ah, thanks. It felt like I was forgetting one, but I couldn't place which one. And you're probably right about the near cut. I heard that Tom Welling didn't know Smallville was being picked up until the night before the CW launch. But I gotta say, I think the CW is being a little hasty with the cancellation mallet. They're considering Veronica Mars as well, and I've never seen it but I know that the critics seem to love it. As a fledgling network, you would think they would milk their pre-established "brands" as much as they were worth. Elimidate reruns will only carry them so far... |

No problem. A little more expansion: Black K also appeared earlier in the Season 4 premiere, "Crusade"; and Red K appears in (complete list follows) "Red," "Rush," "Exodus," "Exile," "Phoenix," "Unsafe," and the upcoming "Crimson," but not in "Rage" like I mistakenly said in my previous post; Silver K was featured in Season 5's "Splinter."

Isn't that Regular Smallville? But, no, seriously, I see what you mean. It could be cool to see Clark all calcified and acting like a zombie... wait, isn't that regular - nevermind... Bizarro would be neat. |

"Justice" was an awesome episode! The only bone I have to pick with it is Clark's blatant lack of concern for protecting his identity...seriously, wtf "Boy Scout"??? I also was expecting to maybe see a battle or two against 33.1 baddies, but oh well, I suppose we were properly compensated by not having Lana's ever-expanding lameness and stupidity not shoved down our throats. Also...MM will be returning in next week's "Labyrinth"--whoopee!!! |

I loved "Justice" too. To be honest, I refused to expect greatness from that episode, simply because I've grown weary of being SO. DISAPPOINTED. with Smallville. I think Justice was Lana's best episode yet. She was great in that. Why can't she have that kind of presence every week? I grew up on Marvel, not DC, but I gotta say, I couldn't help the huge grin on my face when all the superheroics started up.
And I think that the creators wanted to put some Kryptofreaks from 33.1 in, but they can only fit so much into 42 minutes. Plus, I can only imagine the hit their budget took with all those guest stars at once.
I actually liked the "Boyscout" thing, because while it was vague enough to get a few "Huh?"s, I'm pretty sure Superman has been called that in a near derogatory way. By Batman at least.
And was I the only one astounded at Lex's holding device for Bart? When I first saw it, I was like, "What's he gonna do, fill it up with water or something? Aquaman will just save him. *Yawn*" But then he goes and whips out this totally ingenious comicbook torture chamber, and I was like, "Wow. That's awesome." I love Steven DeKnight. What would SV do without him?
Labyrinth looks intriguing, if unabashedly cliche. I just want this whole stupid Lana/Lex wedding to be over with, so I can stop dreading when it will actually happen. It's sort of like when you have a bad hangnail. |

| Did anyone else notice the similarities in the JL costumes? Must have been a sale on superhero costumes that week. |

No no, I understood why they used "Boyscout" too and found it quite funny! My gripe is with Clark just walking into the building and tossing Lex's security staff around with no regard for the fact that most of them have seen him AT LEAST once or twice before and KNOW WHO HE IS!!! I like how Lionel pulled that great excuse right out of his ass in the nick of time, though. And I totally agree, the torture chamber was very future Lex Luthor! |

Oh, I get ya now. Yeah, they even said that the guards recognized Clark's voice. I guess they must have been blind, as well as inept. Looks like the incompetent LuthorCorp security force extends to more than just the mansion...
And was anyone else bothered that they claimed the "heat signatures" had all left the building, right after we just watched the JL take out about 20 guards and leave their motionless bodies on the ground? Does that mean they're dead? What happened to their bodies?!
Baby carrots... The man is a genius. If only he weren't so damn evil...
And as for the costume thing, yeah, the hoodies did kinda bug me. Especially Cyborg's. They should have put like, a jetpack there or something. Anything but another hoodie. "Impulse" looked like he wanted to be a Green Arrow mini-me.
... I miss Pete. |
