from the picture (and from whom I remember introduced in the show) it looks like Flash, Green Arrow, Superman, Aquaman, & Cyborg.

WHEN was Martian Manhunter introduced?!!?!???!??!? I must've missed THAT episode!

He was introduced in episode 6x08, "Static"--the one just before "Subterranean." And according to KryptonSite.com, MM is going to return in the episode following right after "Justice" (episode 6x12, "Labyrinth").

In Static Clark is saved and finds Oreos on the ground by a man whose face is shrouded, Later, in the Kent loft, Clark finds more Oreos.

from Wikipedia
Quote:
The Martian Manhunter's history is closely linked with that of the Justice League: He is a founding member of the superhero team, and his appearances with the League kept him in the public eye long after his own series of back-up stories (appearing in Detective Comics and House of Mystery) was cancelled. In the Justice League International series, J'onn is shown to be obsessed with Oreos, partially due to Captain Marvel's influence; the story of how he got over the addiction is told in his eponymous series (which, in a retcon, refers to them as "Chocos").

I used to be a BIG Smallville fan, but it got corny after awhile and didnt hold my interest. I did watch for 3 seasons before I just didnt feel like it ws worth my time. I wished that they had not killed off Johnathon Kent and had also kept Clarks friend (the token black guy). Does that friend come back as Steel? The story line with Lex and his father was over kill and I wished they would have hurried up killed him off so Lex would have become evil sooner... but still Clarks friend.

On a side note, my wife went to high school with Aquaman. Oh and if you missed it, he was also on a season of American Idol.

Huge Smallville fan, obviously by my avi. The only thing I don't like is when they stray from the comics and make stuff up. Two examples, Pete and Lana get married, yet they basically banished Pete from the show, and they use colors of kryptonite that have never appeared in the comics.

As far as Jonathan Kent dying, that was necessary. Clark Kent/Kal-el can't become Superman without the death of his mortal father.

It got boring fast afer each freak of the week thing kept happening for each show. When Pete left and Daddy Kent was killed, I lost interest. I did tune in for the first appearance of Flash. He's my favorite DC hero.
I may have to tune in if they are pulling together a mini justice leauge. I wonder if Wonder Woman will show up soon?

If the tv and comics are all supposed to go together, then how is the death of Kent plausible? In Lois and Clark, Kent is still alive. And I never heard of Kent dying in the comics. I know Lex's dad died in an (factory) accident that involved Superman ( I believe).

What other colors have they introduced in the show that werent in the comics? I know of green and red from comics and tv.

Of course, I dont like the fact that Lois knows Clark before he gets to the Daily News. That didnt seem to go with the anything previous (comics, tv, or movies), but made for good tv I guess.

I guess they need a Smallville spinoff to replace Supernatural!!

I'm aging myself here, but anyone remember Superboy? I think in that series Martha Kent died, not his dad.
Even in comic books, each vein tells a different story about the same character. It can be annoying at times.

Oh geez... I SWEAR I don't read Superman... Okay, in the 80's, DC had this thing called "Crisis on Infinite Earths", I believe was the name, where they pretty much just went back and retconned a bunch of stuff. Before that (or "Pre-Crisis") Superman's dad DID die, and that's what propelled Clark Kent into Superdom. I think.

Oddly enough Hiroismyhero, some old people who claim that they came up with Superboy are suing DC because of that show, and THAT is why they are not calling Clark "Superboy" by now on Smallville.
Blame that annoying lack of continuity on "Crisis". Everyone else does. Or Wanda Maximoff....

Now watch this Rambo emoticon to help me salvage any semblances I had of coolness... rambo

I've told my kids that any (fictitious) story can be told more than one way (well, there is a little flex for non-fiction as well), and I don't mind if the TV version of Superman doesn't match the movies or comics. The fairy tale Cindrella is a good example of a story with many versions, although certain elements are constant. Of course, everyone is free to prefer some versions to others!

According to Wikipedia, both of his parents died in the Superboy series. Martha dies first after getting a disease from a pirates treasure!! This led him to go to Metropolis and become Superman. In the Man of Steel series, Johnathan suffers a heart attack, but doesnt die.

Also, there are 18 versions of Kryptonite, 9 of which are "colored".

I just hate it when movies dont follow books, so I guess that is carrying over in my ideas of what is acceptable between crossing tv with books/comics.

In the comics, Jonathan Kents death is what makes Clark/Kal-El to realize how much that humans are important to the "Earth". Lana and Pete should be married, and Lex should be president in my mind, if I'm following the comics correctly. And yes, I don't mind deviation, but absurd is absurd. Just like cash equals cash.

Yeah, that Lana and Pete thing makes me laugh every time I hear it. Boy, did they screw that up! I don't know how they're going to end it anything like the comics now. But whatever. Less than a week until the new episodes. Isn't the first one since the break going to be "Justice"? It might be unpopular to say this, but I'll be kind of glad when Green Arrow finally leaves, and the show stops being "Greenarrowville". Clark's finally starting to resemble Superman!

Well, Green, Red, Onyx, and Silver are the only Kryptonites used in the show out of the myriad (18, as BHustonM pointed out) that existed in the comics. So far, Silver was the only deviation in that none of the several incarnations of it in the comics had the same effect as on the show, nor were any of them created by Braniac. However, I think all the Silvers were artificially-made, as in the show.

Uhh...why would the CW replace Supernatural? It is an excellent show that is doing extremely well in the ratings. IMHO, it's the ONLY decent show the network has running. As for Pa Kent: although Jonathan does die pre-Crisis, in no media other than the Superman movies has he died since the retcon (as far as I know). And it's the Daily Planet, not the Daily News...the latter is the real-world version. lol

No, "Hydro" will be the first episode post-hiatus, with "Justice" and "Labyrinth" (the Martian Manhunter resurfaces in this one) following. And the introduction of the Green Arrow is the only thing that's kept the show going this season, otherwise it would have surely been cut by the network!

How can I respond to that, nice research. I just want kryptonite to be what is was, and not fabricated. One irregular type of kryptonite equals one too many for me But Smallville has introduced three types of kryptonite that have never been viewed by the comic book readers. You know one of them, can you find the other two?
