Marcus in Idaho: Give us some good Heroes dirt!
One major character is presumed dead in the season premiere (but isn't), but another will die in that very same episode! Also, there's another huge threat targeting all the Heroes that is far less attractive than Sylar.Andre in Toronto: What's happening this season on Heroes with my hot hot hottie Hayden Panettiere?
Um...Last I checked she was underage. Yes, she turns 18 tomorrow (happy birthday!), but still. So let's call her cute cute cutie, m'kay? Claire's gonna have a new looove interest named West, and while she'll try to lie low at her new Cali school, the raging teenage hormones will get in the way. Hayden's hot hot hottie onscreen father Jack Coleman tells us: "It's fair to say that Claire does have a romance this year, and it's going to bring us into conflict." Mmmm...Daddy's not happy!
Angeline in Singapore: Any more news from Heroes?
We caught up with James Kyson Lee at Hot in Hollywood, and he said, "Lots of things to look forward to in season two, including a new look for Ando...We'll probably move on from the Members Only jacket. And there [will] be parallel times, the modern time and the ancient Japan, so I'm...in the present day, going back and forth between New York and Japan, and there's going to be some kind of connection between me and Hiro...But you have to wait until Sept. 24 to find out."
kensai or Kane are the new villains but why do they have to be similar to sylar. Targeting heroes for what reason, sylar just wanted to be special and now they are repeating the storylines. season 2 might be bad
yes, but a character presumed to be dead in the season two premiere?
- Papa Petrelli
- Charles Deavaux
- Chaundra Suresh
i cant think of anymore...
Peter Petrelli. Duh. All the characters think he's dead, then we get the scene we saw in the Comic Con trailer. And *poof* he's not dead. It doesn't say who presumes he's dead. We know he's not, but the guys over in the Heroesverse don't know that.
Edit: Evidence to support this...Angela's rant to Nathan in the same Comic Con trailer, in which she said to him "If you'd have just done what you were supposed to do, he would be alive now!"
I don't know if Angela actually assumes Peter's dead, but it's a safe bet Nathan does.
oh damn, my bad i was thinking season 1 premiere.... so yea, season two there are a few characters presumed to be dead (assuming we haven't seen any spoilers)
- Peter Petrelli
- Nathan Petrelli
- DL Hawkins
- Matt Parkman
- Sylar
Yeah, Papa Petrelli as a baddie? I foresaw that like ages ago (and I wasn't the only one -- I know).
Candice bitting it? Yeah, we talked about it in other threads already, check your facts. In fact, I like this theory, because it allows Sylar to keep coming back season, after season, after season, like the energizer bunny.
Linderman: He was major, and he definitely seemed dead. I just hope that if they bring him back, it's not because he's generally unkillable like Peter or Claire. I'd rather see a one-time event.
Thompson: He definitely seemed dead as well, but I don't think he counts as a major character.
Candice: It looks like they mean us to think she's unconscious, not dead.
The obvious: Sylar, Nathan, and Peter looked like goners in the season finale, even though we know they're all coming back.
Jessica: You could say we think she's dead because the finale ended with the Niki personality in control. I really doubt this, but I thought I'd bring up the possibility.
Sylar is gonna kill DL while he is on his deathbed from the bullet in the chest. And i think he is gonna kill Candice aswell to show that not everything that happened in FYG was stopped
First off, with Sylar being gone from the last frame of HTSAEM, we didn't think he was dead.
Peter and Nathan's last shot is a nice big explosion in the sky, so the assumption there is that both were toast.. literally!
Matt and DL are seriously injured, and could possibly succumb to their injuries if they aren't treated quickly. However, as of the end of episode 23 of season 1, they hadn't died(yet!).
To me, the most enigmatic one would be Charles Devaux, mainly because his character was supposed to be dead well before episode 23, and yet his main interaction with the heroes (well, at least Peter!) was in that episode. So there's also a chance that Charles may be somewhere in the background of this story as well!
And then there's still the mysterious Pa Petrelli. We have had reports that he's dead. But like each and every good detective on this board knows, unless we really see a body, you can never really be sure that the character actually is dead!
So there's my take.
Sylar, Peter, Nathan, Matt, DL, Charles, and Pa Petrelli.
You guys are interpreting the message wrong. It's not saying that the person was presumed dead in the finale. They're presumed dead in the premier.
Nathan's alive, he's in the trailer. Matt's alive, he's in the trailer.
I'm going out on a limb (a very short and safe limb) to say Peter simply because we know that the characters presume he's dead. Angela tells Nathan that "he wouldn't be dead if it weren't for you" or something to that effect. I imagine we may even see a funeral procession for Peter.
But enough with this stuff. Why aren't you guys talking about this?
"And there [will] be parallel times, the modern time and the ancient Japan, so I'm...in the present day, going back and forth between New York and Japan, and there's going to be some kind of connection between me and Hiro...But you have to wait until Sept. 24 to find out." "
Ando's going to be in Feudal Japan? and he goes back and forth? With the recent spoiler that says Kaito's power is shown in the first episode (assuming it IS Kaito's power that's shown) and Ando calling him "Master" in the Comic-con trailer... Well, let's just say I only see this leading in one direction. It's, personally, a direction I'm not liking.... but it's sounding like our only choice. Kaito has time travel too.
Going by your first srgument Twister, you'll have to assume that Peter's alive as well, since he's also in the trailer...
So who else could it be?
My money's on Charles.
Ando is linked to Hiro. It doesn't say that they interact, it just says that they're linked.
And Ando doesn't go back and forth in time, he travels between NYC and Tokyo in present day. Hiro's in the past, Ando's in the present. However, they somehow are linked by their actions. Something that Hiro does in the past then forces Ando to do something in the present timeline to be able to make Hiro able to affect the past again.. something of that nature.
I'm agreeing with Madstract that Hiro's probably going to open some kind of rift in season 2, and that he's going to have to spend most of this coming season and probably some of season 3 trying to repair that rift. After all, he doesn't seem to be too concerned about rifts right now, but back in "Collision" his future self was very self-consious about causing rifts in the timeline. Thus, my conjecture is that Hiro, with some help from Ando in the present, are going to be trying to fix the mess Hiro causes with his time travelling this next season..
It appeared to me and others, that someone might die as a result of the tinkering of the timeline, but your current reading and Jorm's interpretation, might be more accurate. I dunno. It is important to remember though, that Masi Oka describes the events as being on a much grander scale than what you guys just discussed....
Going by your first srgument Twister, you'll have to assume that Peter's alive as well, since he's also in the trailer...
So who else could it be?
My money's on Charles.
Misinterpreted again
It's called Dramatic Irony. "When you the audience know something the characters don't, so you see the hidden meaning, threat, doom, or whatever. "
We know that Peter's alive. Nathan, at the very least, does not. And Angela seems to be doing a pretty good job of acting like she doesn't know that he's alive. Yes, he's in the trailer, but WE'RE the only ones that know that. To the characters of the show, he is presumed dead.
However, when you look at your post, your reasoning and writing left you open for the argument.
After all, according to your post, because Nathan and Matt are in the trailer, they're alive.
If you go by that posting, then everyone we see in the trailer is alive.
But I agree. Peter's going to be a wildcard for now. Does he remember his power? Will he know where he's at? Will he think that he killed his brother?
As for Matt: Is he going to be the same Matt we knew, or is he going to be hell-bent to stop the 'dangerous' heroes by tightening Homeland Security? Is he going to go down the path we saw him take in 5YG, or is he going to make some other decisions, and stick up for his own kind? How much influence do you think Angela is going to have on him? Will she be holding some kind of secret over his head, to force him to work with her, or will he join her willingly?
