I was going to put this under the "Volume 2: Generations" thread, but as we already know, that storyline, OR that Volume WILL NOT last the full season, so I decided that we needed a new thread to encompass Spoilers that cover the whole season.

I noticed, someone has already posted pictures from the set of "Heroes" (which are NOT publicity photos). Season 2 has started shooting. From what I have been able to find out, the Season 2 arcs (whether Volume 2, volume 2 & 3, or whatever subset) will end sometime in April and NOT in May during sweeps, AND "Heroes: Origins" has been bumped to the end of the season.

Here is the first reporting of the Heroes' press conference from yesterday:

I suspect, this might upset some people. Personally, I think they are doing it so people will vote for "Heroes" to appear in Season 3. But man! That sucks.

It appears D.L. is gone! As in DEAD!

It also appears very likely that Nathan Petrelli is DEAD, but if you read between the lines of what Kristin is saying, Adrian Pasdar might be playing his father! I knew it!!! I CALLED IT FIRST!!! IT'S ALL MINE.

Interesting, Herc. But the first article you linked said Leonard Roberts was supposed to show up. And Adrian may have been saying that in order to not leak whether or not Nathan survived. So I'll take his surivival as yet another "wait and see." But him playing Papa Petrelli would be cool, IMO. Smile

I really don't mind either way when the season ends. As long as the story is good and doesn't feel like we got the short end of the stick, I'm all for whatever they have planned.

I wonder what Milo's new haircut looks like...hmm......hehehe... [/fangirl moment]

Yeah, I kind envy Milo his looks.... *sigh*. I understand how you feel.

On to more important things... I have been scouring the net for reaction on D.L.'s or Leonard Robert's absence. There are three theories:

a) He's shooting somewhere else (film, TV show, whatever);
b) Other personal commitments;
c) He's truly gone. See. He should have been there, especially considering Isaac Mendez (aka, Santiago Cabrera) is definitely dead, and yet was there Thursday, because he will be part of the World Tour (see my post here: "Heroes" World Tour)

The reaction to Leonard Robert's disappearance is severe. How could he, with only one bullet be dead, and yet Matt Parkman (Gunberg) with 4 bullets, still be alive?

I don't know! I am shocked. I personally wanted him back, and did not mind the interracial couple. If they wanted to kill him, they should have done him off a different way.

Well, seeing as 4 months will have passed between end of S1 and beginning of S2, it's possible that they'll have DL die in that gap. If they really kill him off. But I agree, it'd be lame if they did that. He was standing and looking kind of OK at the end of the finale. Matt.....Matt was seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

And I found a much better picture of Milo's haircut. I don't know if I like it...I had grown to like his "silly hair," as Kring once called it. Confused

If DL is gone, i don't really care, he's not my fav. Plus it might explain why there's that new char directly linked with Micah???

Hmmm! E Pixie! I hadn't thought of that! You would need someone to be with Micah when Niki is gallivanting around the World to save it as part of the Legion of Super-Heroes if D.L. is dead!

Hahahaha,nice spoilers. Too bad though, Herc, that I had suggested Adrian Pasdar would be playing his dad a while ago. Maybe you didn't read it. But it's not ALL your's. I'm not lying, seriously. My reasoning being because in the GN "War Buddies" they make Dallas blatantly look like nathan to show that it is his father....that's obvious. However, I thought it also would serve to justify the fact that Nathan could play his father. Not that crazy at all.

But the spoilers never really say Nathan is dead, and why would Kring and the writers say that the next season we will see Nathan's redemption and have to pay for some of the choices he made and the people he worked with? Sounds like an alive Nathan if you ask me. IMO, he should play both, and it wouldn't bother me. And as for D.L. ? No assumptions about the fate of his character should be made just because he wasn't there. Someone already called it, Isaac was there and his character had already died. So, obviously, dead characters being around doesn't really mean they are alive, so we should also be thinking that just because someone isn't there, it doesn't mean they're dead. But, alas, I do believe he may be gone. Only because of the fact that Tim Kring said that at least one person died in the season finale. I doubt it's matt, only because I think they could TOTALLY continue his character arc. Obviously not Sylar. Come on, do we really even have to address Peter? And Nathan...? Well....you know my theory on that, he's SO alive somewhere. That leaves DL, which would make for a great story for both Nikki and Micah, eh? I think so....and it could explain the surrogate mother for Micah, the mom is off somewhere coping with her husband's death or some other crazy thing! It's all too much!!!

Stepping back, we should do some deep thinking about what's going to happen in Season 2 - and what will be the overall arc for the partial season Volume 2.

For example, my guess is that Thompson likely bumped off Mrs. Bennett and Lyle -- otherwise, Noah would have been more frantic to find them in their immediate peril rather than what you would think of as a somewhat lesser priority of preventing the Company from tracking Claire using the new and improved Walker system. (Be very interesting who show up on guest star list in Ep. 1). Thus, Noah will want to start afresh -- apparently in California -- and give Claire a chance for a normal life, including participation in her favorite activity. One would expect she'd be shattered by the apparent loss of her bio Dad and best buddy Peter. Also would allow them to hide from Angela -- who is going to be royally ticked and no doubt will have some sort of scheme working before long. The California location will allow for some Buffy-style plot development - Claire will have some difficulties fitting in with the mean girl, and become friends with the nice gay one, etc. But...why this particular spot in California? How will she meet up with her new guy friend with some type of "cool power" (per the spoilers)? Coincidence -- or something else. What will be the threat or challenge that she and Dad must rise to meet by the end of the Volume? Angela finding them? Decision to hunt for Peter? (Would Dad tell her about Walker system?) Will Syler go after her? Will Syler's savior (WTTB) join him? Will she have a reunion with parts of the Kirby Square squad?

As another example, assuming Matt survives, he will face the imminent birth of his child -- assuming he and his wife are still together. Somehow I don't think that will go smoothly. He likely won't be able to get back on the force on his own, so he'll have to figure out what to do professionally. My guess is that Audrey will pull him back to the FBI when she hears reports that Sylar ain't quite dead yet. (The chemistry is just too damn good to keep the two of them apart permanently, whether or not wifey is in the picture.) We'll also probably find out that someone in the law enforcement hierarchy is in league with Linderman's cabal, and help show there is some type of government involvement in the specials.) Matt will then get back in touch with Molly (who likely is living with Mo as adoptive Dad) for the Walker system special and find out Sylar is hanging out with WTTB.

As yet another example - bet Angela will be heading off to France to meet with the overseas elements of the Linderman group -- the real purpose for taking Claire to Paris (not just the shopping). No doubt the Haitian will play a role, but I have doubts that he will turn out to be a bad guy but what is his angle?

The possibilities go on and on but we need some hard thinking about what we are really going to see in Vol. 2. What is the specific challenge to be overcome - and what will we learn about bigger picture issues (good vs. evil through the centuries about the powered? True role of the Company? Who is who's Daddy or Mommy? Still betting on Claude being the kid of Linderman; and Candice being related to someone important as well. I'd bet that when a child one of of the powered folk manifests, the Company would take them, wipe their minds (using Haitian), and train them to be the Company's agents. That would have been Claire's fate -- if Noah had turned her in as ordered.

My thought is that HRG is out of the "paper" business and hiding. I doubt he'd trust OWI enough to move to another post after what he did to Thompson and the organization in Kirby Square. I'm sure he hold Mohinder to get Molly to a safe, hidden spot ASAP so that he and Claire couldn't be tracked (perhaps a visit to India, especially once he figures out the scoop about his long-missing family member). What he does for a job will be interesting -- will he even try to get one?

Very interesting and, indeed, critical question is who is running the OWI with both Linderman and Thompson dead. Could default to Candice but I doubt that. Could be someone from Linderman's Las Vegas group but doubt that as well. Could be Angela but I'd bet she's at the high strategic level rather than operational level. Probably an entirely new character -- either from another Division of the OWI or from one of its overseas branches (France perhaps?). Or perhaps Kane/Kensai will be forced to step in to right the OWI ship....

Can't read too much into the who was there, who wasn't. They were and are still promoting the season 1 DVD!!! At the same time they are creating more speculation and interest in season 2 by making us wonder which characters survive. Unless the actor gets a prime job elsewhere, I will consider them still on board with Heroes.

Missy leaving does seem to align with the new GN indicating Betty. The actor for Candice can easily be replaced. Looking like Missy could have simply been a flavor of the month. They should probably provide a reason for why she didn't look different after getting KO'd though.

As mentioned, there should be some interesting story arcs in season 2. I imagine some of the most interesting ones will end up being about new characters though. Just look how HRG and Sylar captivated season 1 when they were supposed to be minor characters.

Lots of posts about good and evil. Try to keep in mind that Kring is purposely trying not to have a good and evil. Polar opposites become boring and predictable. With Kring, everything stems from the character as a person, so expect him to keep things as real as possible, despite the superpowers.

Anyhow, I thought of a few other things, but that's enough for now.
