1) The Company placed mental barriers in Peter to prevent him from accessing his ability
OR
2) The Company injected the virus in him and THOUGHT that he wouldn't be able to use his powers anymore, but they didn't realize that he possessed Claire's healing ability, which rendered the virus useless.
3. Peter could have received the virus, but had already absorbed Mohinder's immunity. And you know Peter... if he's told he doesn't have power's that's usually good enough for a while.
so then that would mean mohinder is immune to everything but his blood can only cure one type of the virus? AND the fact that Tim Kring just said Mohinder doesn't have powers and he doesn't plan on giving them to him means nothing? And if you don't think he has a power and it's just natural immunity to EVERYTHING, i think that would be stretching it a little.
Hmmm... eh.... I still don't like the Mohinder has immunity thing. In order for Peter to absorb something, it has to be a power, and I doubt that the writers would give Mohinder a 'power.' Sure, he may have the physical ability to counteract the virus (or, the Shanti strain at least) with his blood, but I don't think he has the 'evolutionary' ability to do so, and when I say 'evolutionary,' I'm referring to the abilities that our Heroes possess.
Again, I think the writers realize that not everyone in the show can have an ability, and there have to be a small handful of main characters who don't possess one, but even though Mohinder doesn't possess one, we've seen how important his character is throughout season 2.
And besides, we know that Mohinder doesn't have this 'immunity' power - his antibodies don't work on the new strain of the virus.
Well it might be that Claire's and Kensei's blood can cure anyone (the same as Linderman could cure anyone/anything with a touch). But Mohinder has the immunity to the Shanti virus. That's what I maintained since day one.
I have not stated that his blood is able to offer immunity to this new strain (because then he would be unstoppable like Claire). Neither have I said that it is a power.
Yet, I disagree with you PK. It is an evolutionary thing. Whether Chandra Suresh messed around with Mohinder's DNA or not, in order to bring about someone who was able to counteract the Shanti virus, Chandra must have known about the consequences of the Shanti virus against specials. I believe Mohinder is still able to counteract this new strain. I think, the only think that has changed in this strain is that it has jumped species... it can now afflict normals just as much as specials. Where before Mohinder was the key to saving Molly and other specials, now he's the key to saving Humanity.
But, in order for that key to work, there is a final ingredient. And that ingredient is in Claire's/Kensei's blood.
It's possible that the final key to an ultimate cure is Claire's blood combined with Mohinder's, but I think Bob was hinting more at the fact that it will be solely Claire's blood that will counteract the virus, and that Mohinder's blood may no longer be sufficient. The only thing The Company needs from him now is his knowledge and skills as a geneticist. We shall find out within the next four episodes...
Well Herc, to quote you "jumping onboard my Mohinder immunity as a POWER theory?" not trying to be mean, but you DID call it a power hence my response. I just want everything to be clear, not attacking you.
Also, if, as you say, the only thing different about the virus is that it "jumped species" (i'm taking that as meaning the only difference is that now humans can be affected) then there should be no reason that Mohinder wouldn't be able to cure it. And I get what you're saying about claire, but as of right now, I'm not sure it necessarily needs to be Mohinder's anitbodies mixed with claire's blood to cure the virus. I think it'll just be claire's blood, with Mohinder's genius. But I could be completely wrong about the whole thing and you could be completely right. We'll just have to see how it plays out....

I'm definitely under this impression as well.

I'm going with my 2nd theory
Thoughts?
i'm positive with your theory
Yatta!!! After all, we know that Bob is experienced in injecting specials with the virus to take away abilities from those who are "dangerous."
Hey everyone, here's the recap of the preview for Episode 9 entitled "Cautionary Tales" (which was shown at the end of "Four Months Ago")
I didn't want to make a new post in the Season 2 forum for this since it's not that big of a topic, so I'll post it here.
Here's what happens in the preview:
- Peter looking at the dead bodies in the future (from “out of time”)
-Hiro and Ando standing in the middle of a field, could be in a cemetery type area cuz they’re wearing tuxes
- Then we see Claire in a field, and in the field has stones in the shape of a word, it looks like it says, “HURRY” (MY Popkorny theory is that she wrote it on the ground so that West can fly over her and see her message)
- Then we see Bob in a black suit and black sunglasses, Mohinder standing next to
- Then Mohinder and HRG in a car, and Mohinder says, “I’ve come to ask for Claire.”
- Then we see HRG reaching for duct tape and approaching Claire with it (they’re in the house)
- Then we see Bob take Claire’s blood from her arm (we know it’s a blood test because she has a ribbon tied around her arm to increase blood pressure)
- Then Hiro and Kaito are in a field together
- Then we see the hooded figure charge at Kaito on the roof of the Deveaux building
- Then Hiro is standing on the roof of the Deveaux building in the daylight
- Then we see HRG letting Elle go (who has her hands tied behind her back) and walk towards Bob and Mohinder while Claire is walking towards HRG.
- Then we see HRG about to shoot Bob… Bob seems to be kneeling on the floor, execution style
- Then someone is pointing a gun at Mohinder
- Then we see ELLE CRYING and BLEEDING (looks like it’s from her right arm)
- Then we see Claire’s face as she’s about to scream, “DAD!”
- It looks like HRG is about to pull the trigger, and we hear a gun shot, but the “flash” occurs on the whole screen which means it was something added by post-production
It looks like HRG will allow The Company to take Claire so long as he can have Elle for the time being - the spoilers at Spoilerfix indicate that Claire has an 'idea,' so perhaps this is it. Let Bob & HRG trade blonde daughter for blonde daughter.
I don't think that HRG ends up pulling the trigger when shooting Bob
It also looks like Elle gets shot
I don't think HRG gets shot in the eye... I think he gets ZAPPED in the eye... either that or he shoots himself to 'protect' his family for good, and West flies Claire away in the background.
