Sometimes the Trailers are a little out of context because of the way they are put together, as we have seen before. Although I think he's just going to go through the door.

he can also teleport, so i can think of NO good reason he could be saying that....

That's a good point about Peter not being confident, but I'd argue that TK can definitely open a door. Sylar used it to rip a parking meter cemented into the ground, so I think that TK could certainly be used to rip a door from its hinges. And as Ledlevee said, if it was electronic, he could definitely used Micah's ability to crack the combination.

Thus far, Peter has used all of the abilities that were present at Kirby Plaza EXCEPT for Micah's and Molly's. I wouldn't be surprised if the writers had Peter use technopathy to open up the door. I would actually sort of like it. But judging by the downhill writing this season, I don't think it will happen...

Peter also used super-strength when he punched McSorley's son in "Lizards," so he definitely knows he possess some kind of super-strength.
