Well, semantics aside, I think he makes a valid point. I'm just left wondering:
We know there's more than one teleporter, and we know there's more than one empath as Claude tells Peter he's "one of them".
Wouldn't it be interesting if there was a season where we have multiple empaths moving against Sylar, and possible other evil empath-esque specials like him? A sort of Gods and Devils episode. We know that Mohinder refers to the roach as "God", or as close to God as we may have ever seen in our lifetimes. We seem to be coming upon a new infestation of bipedal roaches that are about 5-6 foot tall.
I agree with you Payquage. Roaches aren't parasites. However, the defenition of a parasite is an organism that feeds off another living organism. Does this not describe Sylar? He's making his living off of other living heroes, so my take is that he's the parasite.
I also am torn to the enigmatic Claude statement.
After all, if Claude's been as deep into the company as it appeared, then he could very well have been talking about the Petrelli family, and not an empath.
As if to say, "Oh, you're one of _them_ (those Petrelli scum)"
I don't know.. I'm still watching, but I'd have to say something's pointing to something far larger than just Peter and Sylar coming head to head.. and I also think there's something larger behind Linderman's plan than just the NYC explosion..
Actually, his words were "Fantastic! One of those."
"One of them" might be able to be misconstrued as the Petrellis... but "one of those", especially in context (it's directly after Peter says "I just do what you can do"), sounds more like it's in reference to his being an empath than who his family is.
I agree with the roach being a metaphor rather than explaining how he escaped. I would imagine that whatever he did at Mohinder's (possibly counteracting the drug in his system and/or turning the drip valve using TK) is also how he escaped from the company.
Given that he is skilled enough with TK to surgically remove someones skullcap and, with his base power, look at a broken Rolex and know how it works, he could certainly understand the monitoring equipment and use TK to adjust it to make the Company staff think he was dead. The roach, I also think, is just a reference to Sylar's adaptability.

I still think that the "Fanastic! One of those." is more likely to refer to people with powers in general than to empaths. So far we haven't met any duplicate powers (I don't remember anyone else teleporting) and Claude, through his work with the company has built up some form of contempt for his own kind. I don't know, it just seems kind of far fetched for Claude to have encountered another empath in his time with the company. After all, any other empath would be a major player and we would have likely heard of them.

Not in the show, but on the map. There's a note saying that there's another teleporter.
Also, when Mohinder opens his father's files in the first episodes of the show, he finds the file of someone who emits radiation. Unless Dr. Suresh paid Ted a visit...

I also agree with this statement I think it is possible for there to be more than one empath. I have stated this somewhere else on this forum, glad other people picked up on this aswell.

I agree with you on this point. However, this is just semantics and we will probably never know what he meant.
"That depends on what your definition of "is" is."-Bill Clinton
Not really. People with powers in general can't see him. Nathan can't see him. Isaac can't see him. Simone (supposedly) can't see him.
The entire context of the situation was a conversation about why he could see him. Peter's response was that he could do what Claude could do, and Claude's response was that he was "one of those". That has nothing to do with powers in general, it has everything to do with the fact that Peter was mimicking Claude.
And we're forgetting the biggest piece of evidence. If it wasn't for Claude, we wouldn't have the lovely term "Empath". Not only has Claude seen one before, but the company has a term for them.
Weird that Claude took "I can do what you can do." to mean "Empath rather that just that Peter has the ability of invisibility as well. That would be MY first assumption.
Claude's had too much experience for that, I think. Peter seemed generally astonished that Claude said he was invisible and that Claude could just go up to people and steal their money. So, Claude deduced that Peter probably wasn't invisible by nature.

Peter seemed fairly clueless.
"HOW CAN YOU SEE ME? NO ONE CAN SEE ME! I'M INVISIBLE!"
"I don't know! I do what you can do!"
"Fantastic! One of those."
Context really is the simplest answer to this scene...

Months ago, we had a discussion somewhere here about which characters or powers would be able to fake out medical equipment (I think specifically Chandra Suresh's tests for abilities).
Sylar's TK, if it works with a fine touch, and his ability to see how things work would probably enable him to change readings on simple equipment, even if he had to just force movement on a dial to do it. But I think he would need some physics, electronics, and medical background to mess with imaging equipment. I'm not saying a triple PhD, but he would need some undergraduate level.
His ability to see how things work didn't help him drive a truck, and imaging equipment is at least that complex. He had to read the operator's manual and use Charlie's power to absorb the whole thing before he could drive the truck. And we're talking about doing more than just operate imaging equipment. It would be changing the output for a given input - like making the truck turn right when someone else is driving and turning the steering wheel left.
So I'm 75% sure Sylar used TK to fake his death (since we're talking about technology like stethscopes and pulse-oximeters - if the guy doesn't have a pulse, they're not going to check it with a CT scan), 25% sure he has some other play-dead power.
I think Micah's and Hana's powers include an instinctive feel for how electronics and networks work. They aren't trying to work it out from knowledge and observing the pieces. Micah's power would be perfect for altering any kind of digitized image or data.

When Claude and Peter met, my take was that Claude had met other people with powers similar to Peter's (95%). I don't think we would have necessarily met them yet (there is at least one other empath "out there": 90%; it's someone we already know but think doesn't have a power: 30% ). I do think we might still find out that Claude already knew more about Peter than he let on (60%).
