The symbol was everywhere--I always believed that it was like a crazy DNA code that was ripted off or broken and that's why the Heroes become "heroes",in the first place.
The eclipse maybe will be when God sends his help,...maybe! And Molly will see her prays heard...
And Squeaker..you deserve some of my waffles! I will give them to you..cheers!
I do like the eclipse idea as some kind of ‘God-send’. We actually got to see it happen in season 2, didn’t we? With Hiro, 400 years in the past; around the same time as the earliest known Hero; Kensei – who has that symbol on his sword... I guess all origins are here, even if Kens does seem suspiciously modern-minded (O.o) I definitely think the eclipse must hold some deeper significance.
Now I’m wondering why molly draws the symbol upside-down (which is funnily enough the version our forum ranking has inadvertently adopted). I have a theory, and that is that WTTB is a perversion of what is present in the other Heroes, just like an upside-down horse-shoe is an unlucky perversion of what was formally a symbol of good fortune.
In the end it’s all Ying and Yang.
The whole world of Heroes uses the symbol the same way up; the ‘Godsend’ (Ying) way.
If WTTB is the only upside-down (Yang) symbol - to balance out the whole rest of the world - then I’m suddenly rather anxious. Can any one thing or person possibly be that powerfully adverse?
I think that what Action is referring to is the reversed Helix, to be honest. I don't think that Tim Sale drew those crayon drawings, but they're copying a Helix symbol that Tim Sale drew for a different picture, and in that picture, Tim had done a boo-boo, and accidentally reversed the Helix, thus making a continuity error that wasn't fixed because it wasn't deemed necessary.
However, those with sharp eyes, like our Squeaker, caught the faux-pas, and can use that information to make hypothesis and theories, when in all reality, it's just a chance mistake that they might decide to take advantage of..

I thought so too - but then I went on a hunt. And I realised that every one of Molly's drawings is this way up (and there have been a lot of her drawings scattered throughout E1&2). Whereas every other appearence of the godsend, in S1&2, is the normal way up.
FYI - per the relevant commentary track on the NBC web site, it was stated that Adair Tishler (Molly) herself drew all of the pics shown as coming from her character in Ep. 1. No discussion on the track of whether the upside down feature was intentional - or just an 8 year old kid making a mistake. I'm hoping for the former, of course). Rob
Unfortunately, I was just reminded of the fact that the symbol is actually a combination of two symbols, Squeaker, so I don't think that the "Send-God" theory works (as cool as it is).
In episode 12 of Season 1, Hiro and Ando presented the symbol to us as a combination of "Godsend" and "great talent" so logically, so as my friend suggested (my spoiler friend), wouldn't an upside down symbol mean "Crappy Talent" and "Send God"? Lol... just something to munch on.
