So it's been bugging me that only Hiro is the only one that is REALLY in touch with his powers. THe flying dude is barely getting in touch, and the painter is like O_O i can paint the future RAWR now i must leave and be isolated. Claire doesnt't want any attention, too bad she already has.
I mean what is this? THere should be a team of super h eroes already! Hiro and that painter dude. The painter dude paints and hiro goes to the future and BAM!!!!! wooo hoo...
i don't know if this made any sense..... since i'm like....................... yeah.. lol its getting late,

It seems more and more likely that we arn't going to have a team of cape wearing super hero's. More likely there individual goals and lives will intertwine and they will still have "real" lives they have to live in. It's hard to see where its gonig but i like them not all being a team. That's pretty predictable and been done a few times already.
well Hiro does have a more relistic touch with the "hero" life styl e& responsibilties and the others dont really know that they are indeed 'heroes' yet.

Hasn't it been specifically stated by creators that Heroes will not be like the "Justice League?" That the characters will not all meet up and form this supergroup that goes around righting the world's wrongs? Isn't that why they named it "Heroes" and not "Superheroes"? I can't be the only person who read that interview... Because I distinctly remember feeling kind of disappointed when I read that. What's so bad about the Justice League?
Yeah, starting out at least the show is supposed to be about people discovering and coming to grips with these powers. Its supposed to be a character driven thing, and not a story in which the powers are the focus.
I think we'll find many of them getting together, as the lead ins keep saying things like "The heroes are starting to meet up", but that they won't be a Justice League type group.
My guess is that the creaters didn't want to have all of the heroes to meet so that they can be helpfull in there own "teritory." In other words Hiro is in Japan. the chearleader is where ever she is at and so on. you know what I mean?

My take is that Hiro's character is intended to directly relate to us, the fanboys & girls. All of us have thought about what we would do if we could fly/go invis/stop time and Hiro was depicted as a fanboy from the start - just look at all the stuff and toys in his cube. Now the other heroes, especially Nathan's character - they are the non-fanboys of the world who don't "get it." People who don't "live" in fantasy universes or analyze them. So having Hiro be in touch and learning to use his powers more rapidly makes sense to me.
Just my observations so far. Hiro is the fanboy in all of us, the others heroes are everyday people who get powers. Perhaps why this is why we all love Hiro so much.
Clare and Hiro have the right idea they just want to be low profile. In todays society you would be subjected to all sorts of tests and branded a "freak." It is this realism that most comics or shows seem to miss.
I love that Heroes is taking a more realistic approach to the whole "super powers" concept... the characters are all very believable and it's not a campy fantasy world... not that there's anything wrong with that... but a realistic approach just hasnt been done often or believable enough, I think...
but I think most of the main characters are on the path towards exploring and accepting their powers... and then incorporating those powers into their self-images and roles... I bet a few of them will indeed begin doing Superhero-like things... just minus the bizarre costumes and fantasy elements... this show is much more down to earth, and I love it
People need to eat and pay their bills. Nobody in the show is a millionaire so far, other than possibly Nathan through campaign contributions. Nobody is sponsored by corporations, again other than possibly Nathan.
So their options for living are:
1) Wealthy benefactor (ala millionaire Professor X or Tony Stark)
2) Corporate sponsorship (wearing a Nike cape? employed by Microsoft?)
3) Working for the government
4) Living off public charity
2 and 3 wouldn't be true heroes, as their goals would be dictated by their employer. Unless their employer was some wealthy charity organization. Number 4 means no secret identity, no "normal" life, which is obviously important to a few of the characters.
Having a sudden billionaire pop up that's willing to fund them to act as world heroes...um, could anyone really see that happening? It seems like a convenient solution that the plot writers could script in and then forget about the money problem.
We know Nathan wins the election, due to Hiro's jump in the first episode. It's possible that he can head a government organization while in Congress that has to do with the "Research and Development or Extraordinary Abilities" Therefore Government funding. Thats a possibility, and with one of the Heroes runnning it they would be doing thier own bidding.

Ah excellent point! This would be plausible and would actually allow for future plot elements of being mislead, controlled, etc. You know - the whole Cloak and Dagger routine.
