I understand that Claire can regenerate, but how does she manage not to get blown to pieces by the Atomic Man? She comes out of the house a little chargrilled and then regenerates but that doesn't mean that she can't be killed.
Any Thoughts? |

| I know that bones get stronger each time they heal from break or impact, and Her bones would be a great example of that, but I doubt that anything supernatural is going on in that department. |

I don't think that there is anything Supernatural going on with her.
She has what the Doctor says as 'accelerated healing'.
But if Sylar had got to her and cut the top of her head off, would she have healed from it or is this an achilles heal? |

She can be killed.
Look at the season 1 episode "5 Years Gone".
In the episode, Claire was taken into the office of who we thought was Nathan, but was really Sylar in disguise. As her back is turned, you hear Sylar's TK buzz, and Claire bleeds. Thus, we're left with the assumption that Sylar takes her brain, and kills her.
Now, in the explanation we were given near the end of Season 2, kill the brain, kill the regenerator. Claire was unable to heal while there was some kind of blockage in her brain. Peter was the same way with the glass shard. However, once the offending matter was removed, the healing could take place.
Now, if the brain were removed from the body, or were to have connections severed, death would occur.
I'm not saying that if they were to be able to somehow reunite that brain with the body that it couldn't reconnect and heal again, I'm just saying that for now brain death means DEAD.
Of course, there are inconsistencies with this explanation. For example:
Explain to me how someone with a bullet in their skull would be able, with a blood transfusion, to come back? A bullet to the brain would effectively scramble every piece of that vital organ inside of the skull, effectively destroying the neurosystem, and causing near-instant death.
Yet, somehow, this individual was able to come back to life. I don't know if this is because of bad writing, or a poorly thought-out story, or what. However, it does put the brain death = total death idea into question.
Anyway, that's my take.. |

| Hmm. I think Claire has her limitations, like in the "Five Years Gone" episode where Nathan/Sylar sliced the back of her head, she didn't regenerate at all. But then again, when Sylar cut Peter's head, healed up nicely... Strange. |
