Here´s a new poll...You can say to whom you choose and why,I start with:Hiro Nakamura
Hiro...he´s the best! I love his capacity to be surprised,is the best ability he has-along with his big POWER!
And I have to mention Claire..I like the girl,she´s nice and struggle with her owns fears and thoughts,but she stills can be strong and make a difference! But i can only vote for one,and I choose Hiro...
The more I ponder the question
as to which of the Heroes
I would be best friends with
the more interesting and difficult
the question becomes to answer.
Many of the heroes are simply too young
for me to form such an intimate bond with,
in truth I am much closer to the age
of Clair's father than I am to her.
I think you have to have at least a little
in common with those of whom you become
close to in life,
some common ground to bind you together
and a background that both can relate to.
HRG is way too much of a cyther,
even unto his own family,
to become really close to
and the Haitian is way too much of a mystery
for anyone to call him friend at this point.
Peter has qualities that I admire greatly
but thus far he has been far to distracted
and tormented to get very close to,
and of course I find Hiro and Ando
infinitely appealing yet I'm sure
they wouldn't have the time nor the inclination
to get to know me very well.
I think that I could possibly become friends with Mohinder
if the circumstances of our meeting where right.
I've gotten to know a couple of smart folks like him in real life
and while can I understand only so much of what their saying
I find their company and conversation endlessly fascinating.

How about Mohinder's father? Sure, he's dead now, but since we are just looking at the character ....
eek, this is tough, too bad sylar isnt in here....the haitain would be cool...he would stfu, and keep quiet, AND we could basically do whatever we wanted and then just "reset" things by making everyone forget...that being said..
nikki the stripper...hmm...DAMNIT imma have to auto strike her from the list because WITH her, the choice is too difficult...claire= too youngish i think
HIRO! we could do all sorts of cool stuff, go FORWARD in time (so we can act a fool) and he could teach me things, i mean...he HAS to be kinda smart to work where he does...

I could see only a few folks that would be around my age that I could actually strike up a friendship with.
Nathan, mainly because he's old enough to be a brother or contemporary of mine.
Mohinder, for the same reason.
Matt, he's also near the same age. Granted, he's a cop, so the chances of him and I getting real close aren't that great. Cops don't make good friends outside of the FOP
Niki and DL can keep their dysfunctional family to themselves, I don't want any part of that one.
Noah seems a bit too old for me. However, I could see him as a kind of "uncle" figure.
I tend to agree that The Haitian is a bit too distant to be a friend to just about anyone. Thus, I'd have to strike him from the list.
And nearly everyone else we've met is either a teen, or too old!
I'd have to say that Nathan, even with his jerkiness, would be the one I'd have the most in common with.
I'd love to say that I'd strike up a friendship with Hiro, but his lack of communication in English, and my liberal butchering of Japanese would make for quite the communication barrier.
Jorm,maybe you must wait 5 years until Hiro learns to speak English fluently...
I agree with Zonedancer,and with all of you who said that Mohinder could be a good friend.
But I have to say that I have many friends of mine that are older than me (in some cases,they´re like...15 years older) and we get along just fine and talk about everything.The age isn´t an issue for me,the lack of interests and complicated life styles....yes.they´re an obstacle.
I don't wanna be friends with any one of these heroes. They all have cool abilities and I don't have any. I think my jealousy would destroy our friendship. Plus I think they'd tease me by constantly using their abilities and making me feel lame and uninteresting. <imaginary conversation>
Me:"So what's new with you?"
Hero BF: "Oh, nothing much. I just saved the world by stopping a bomb going off in NYC. Ya, know, that sort of thing. You been doing anything cool lately?"
Me: "sigh.... No, just working, the usual."
EVIL PIXIE'S concern about being teased
by those with abilities he does not share
would not be as great as a threat with Mohinder...
although Mohinder may find entirely new reasons to tease PIXIE.
Mohinder's Achilles heel seems to be that he makes friends so easily,
trusting people far too quickly for his own good.
Case in point his father's former neihbor Eden who worked for HRG
and the evil Syler himself who used Mohinder to track down abilities.
Perhaps this vulnerability is from his being a stranger in a strange land
or his distant relationship with his father that causes these lapses in judgement.
Oddly enough the one beneficial early friendship he could have had
was with Peter whom he dropped because he thought Peter was crazy!
Anyway, with his proven poor record in choosing friends
I feel that I would have half a chance with striking a friendship with him myself!
