So then what you are implaying Zone, is that misfits will tend to flock together, and the rest will sort themselves out by a pecking order of some sort?
If that's so, I'd probably end up friends with Mohinder and Hiro. I'm a technical geek by trade, and I practically oozebad judgement, so I think I'd be a sure-win situation for either of those two. Ando would also fit into this scenario, even though he's an ordinary fella such as myself! |

bestfriend is someone you can lean on at any given time and place ..
this is not that hard question really but rather a confusing one ..
since we are just ask to name who we think would be our bestfriend and why ..
let's do it in a simple way ..
for me it would be claire or peter not only because im a fan of them..
peter, for i am a guy and he is as well, we may have something in common like committing mistakes, dedicated to work and bothered by what the future may be ..
we may go out together, play video games, go to party or club at night in real life ..
plus, i also love my brother so much! and i also wanted to be a hero if given a chance!
claire, for i think i had been given this talent to be close with a lot of girls around me in schools before and now in office.. i can simply go on and ride with the flow and their mood swings .. i can be a shoulder to lean on and a pillow to cry on as well .. with her, i can help her realize that being different really is not the end of the world .. plus, i would love to be there for her always .. like zach in the series but more open and intimate i guess in real life .. |

I'm not quite sure what you mean JORMENGRUND by pecking order,
I do think that there is a kind of logic that explains the people we are attracted to,
even on a plutonic level we tend to associate with folks whom we have something in common.
Of course there is the occasional exception,
the Mutt and Jeff examples
of opposite attractions,
but for best friends I think there must be some common ground
some shared values or background to really cement the friendship.
I think my last post about Mohinder was a little unclear
due to my juvenile desire to be either witty or funny.
I think one of the things that fascinates me about the character Mohinder
is his ability to form these friendships so quickly
even though he has been betrayed twice by Syler and Eden
we are left at season's end with the possible beginning friendship with Matt
and the little girl who can find other folks with abilities.
Truth be told I think this shows an amazing largeness of heart on his part. |

I agree Zone.
However, I also think that Mohinder is still quite naive about many things.
After all, even though he's been betrayed a few times now, he's still willing to trust that no matter what happens, the best will come out in a person.. Even if they just met. Granted, this may just be the motivating factor of the writers wanting to show the stereotypical "professor" type who really has very little working knowledge of human interaction in the 'real world', but it could also be his personal struggle with the human condition. Mohinder willing to believe the best in each and every person that he meets, just because somewhere in each person is something worthy of being noticed and respected.
I'd have to say that I don't really click with Mohinder. I'm not usually a talker when watching a show, but some of his actions have actually gotten me to talk or even yell at the screen!
So I'd have to say that I'm a bit more of a Hiro-type character than a Mohinder. I don't empathize well, so Peter's out. I like to keep my feet firmly planted on the ground, so out the door goes Nathan. I don't really want to know what most folks think about me, so Matt's out. I do heal quickly, but I also have the scars to show for it, so I have nothing to relate to Claire about. I'm not excessively strong, so I can't really relate to Niki. I can't walk through walls, unless most of the plaster, drywall, or studs are removed, so I don't think DL and I would have much to talk about. I tend to keep my temper, so I don't think I'd be willing to hang around Ted. I have no real interest in trying different types of food, so I don't think Sylar and I would really hit it off. I don't jump around from place to place, trying to save the world one instant at a time, so I need to retract my first statement, and say that Hiro and I don't really have much, either. I can't help someone with a touch, so I'm not able to think along Mr. Linderman's lines. I don't draw worth crap, so there's no real reason that I'd be hanging around Issac. I'd love to be able to talk with Micah or Hana, though. At least those two have something along the lines of what I do and am interested in! Figures that I'd relate with a 10 year old kid and a dead girl, now doesn't it? |

I don't think two people have to have a lot in common to be friends. For example, when I went to a class reunion (my ex's, before we were ex), I wanted to talk to the doctor, the firefighter, the theater manager, etc. because their lives were different from mine. On the other hand, my ex wasn't really interested in talking to anyone whose career was at all different.
I agree that having a lot in common with someone can contribute to a friendship, but I think as long as you're interested in the other person, you can be friends. |
