It seems that Peter Petrovsky ( Hope I spelled it right) can absorb other heroes powers and then mimic them. Imagine if all of them are in one place with Peter and the absorbs all of their abiliites at the same time-DL's, Peter's brother, Hiro, the Cop, the Cheerleader, Nikki and the knowledge of Mohinder, he would be a force to be reckoned with. eek

Far fetched maybe, but seemingly within the scope of his abilities.

That is one of the most common theories about heroes. He might have to do just that to defeat Sylar.

I hadn't even thought about him taking on all the powers at once. I guess I just assumed it was a one-at-a-time sort of deal.

I think it would be awesome if he could take all of the powers at the same time. He would be quite the hero to be reckoned with then.

1. If he has the ability to mimic/absorb powers from other characters, and the plot seems to hinge on saving the cheerleader (Claire) who possesses rapid healing abilities, why does future Hiro comment on Peter's scar?

One would think that any injury that would create a scar could be repaired simply by being in contact with Claire at some future time.

This calls into question something that is probably beyond the scope of the show and that would be the affect of her power on cell death, and thus aging. I'll ignore that.

Is Peter's future scar a discontinuity or a possible hint at Claire's ultimate demise or separation from the group?

2. Is the combination of Claire and Peter's abilities a prelude to Peter sustaining a near mortal wound, possibly near the end of this season? Could this scar actually be a remenant of the possible "near fatal" wound?

"Save the Cheerleader, save the world" indicates to me that the ability to rapidly repair wounds will be key to the resolution of this season. Because Peter is the only one capable of absorbing powers at this time it seems to me that saving Claire is actually saving Peter's life. Thus allowing Peter to save the world.

This could be incorrect as it seems the killer also has the ability to repair himself as shown when he is knocked over and then vanishes following the gunshot from the police officer Matt.

THat would also make sense, because Future Hiro comes and visits Peter. "Save the cheerleader" allows him to then "Save the World" With this explaination we don't have to go into the whole Peter is the one he went to because he can mimic the time stopping effect and is thus the only one Future Hiro can visit. Occam's Razor.

So maybe when Hiro saw Peter in the future, Peter was already dead...and if he can save the cheerleader and thus absorb her powers he can save himself and then save the world?

It is possible that Peter is not close enough to Claire to absorb her healing power when he gets the scar, or maybe he can only sponge one at a time and he was not copying Claire's power.

So, if there's more than one hero near Peter, does he get both (or all) of their powers?

If yes, he would be a meta, ultimate hero.

Theoretically, but Milo, the actor who plays Peter, hinted in a recent interview that having more than one hero nearby could cause problems.

There used to be an obscure mutant named Mimic in the x-men comics that could mimic (wow, clever name) multiple powers/abilities at a distance & retain them at a distance & for a reliable duration. These powers defiitely seem tied to the will though & Peter Petrelli does NOT appear to have the determination/stubbornness/singularity of purpose that the other Expressives (even Isaac) do. Maybe his empathy which normally would be a strength is a weakness in this regard.

if his body has to adjust his dna for each power he was absorbing, he may only be able to do one at a time or his body has a sort of allergic reaction...time will tell
