PK and I have discussed this to a certain degree, and I feel it needs to be added to this thread.

I have posted this in another thread which was about Angela Petrelli because I thought this "mental projection" power was one that Peter obtained from her. (or potentially Charles Deveaux) This remains to be seen; however, I think this is the most likely scenario as this was one of the first powers exhibited by Peter when he traveled back in time and bore witness to a conversation in the past between Deveaux and his mother.

Here is a copy of several texts I have pieced together describing Peter's "newly observed power - or - combination of varying abilities used simultaneously...."

If you go back to the episode of "Truth & Consequences", you will see that while Peter is remembering and healing himself, he does somehow travel back to the "scene of where he and Caitlin" were separated. He literally sees himself and her as his own witness to the moment. It is not just a memory, because he is "there somehow". KEY CLUE: While watching " he reaches down at that moment in time as a separate witness to the event and grabs one of the paper notices drifting through the streets on the wind. When he "mentally travels back" to his present state where he is talking to Adam Monroe, he says, "I was in the future & saw a virus, etc..." At which Point Adam replies, "You've been standing here the whole time." Peter then responds by SHOWING ADAM THE PAPER NOTICE. Adam replies, "Impressive".

I think we have our smoking gun here people. Now, was that a manifestation of "POWERS IN SYNERGY", or the mimicry of another person's power only ? I think it may have been a manifestation of Peter using his mother's ability while simultaneously tapping another power to "Physically bring back the paper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

I believe it was deliberate and that we will see it again in season 3 at some point. What I find most disturbing (Exciting Actually) is that if Peter can mentally project himself to a location, and physically bring objects back with him, then that is a VERY POWERFUL tool. I'm sure the writers will have to counteract that ability in some way

this power synergy thing........if he can do that i mean mix and match powers he and sylar is just too powerfull for the show...............it essentially means that when peter gets to 70% controll of his abilities.......nobody is going to stop him or pose any sort of threat

We've seen that there is a YIN / YANG theme to this whole show. There is no absolute one sidedness to anything. All is in balance but it is up to humanity to decide. The Matrix comes to mind with this same dilemma. It is all about choice- or - the illusion of choice. Nonetheless, there is balance in the Universe in the Heroes world. Peter may be Evolution at its prime; however, there is always an equalizing factor: The Yin to the Yang if you will.

No worries about the imbalance of power because everything has a sense to right itself. Shall we play Gods or not?

Peter has some VERY POWERFUL physical abilities: Telekinesis, Flight, Healing/immunity/Immortality, Radiokinesis, Electrokinesis, Invisibility, Time Manipulation, Phasing, Talking to Machines, Super Strength...

Now imagine some of the mental abilities he has acquired via Matt Parkman alone! If the theories prove true that he as the additional abilities of his mother and Charles Deveaux, then he will truly be unstoppable - unless he encounters the Haition.

TALK ABOUT POWERFUL. Imagine if he learns to use all of these multiple abilities simultaneously.

What if Sylar or someone else teied to copy Peters powers, would he then just get the mimic part, or all the powers that peter has absorbed? Confused

i was just thinking.......i dunno if this hasbeen posted yet or not but anyways. it was never mentioned when peters ability actually manifested, having beenaround the origional 12 would ave have all of their abilities aswell?
and the seeming projection into the future, he canbring back pices of peper so can he gain powers form going tothe future without going if u know what i mean........would be relly handy if he could do that. realises that he cant beat someone so he projects himself to the futue and obsrbs abilities and wipes the floor with them

I agree with this idea. If you recall, Claire was a survivor, being a healthy baby in an otherwise completely burned down house. The company "new" she was special and gave her to Noah Bennet for "safe" keeping.

I think this also means that this also means that all specials are obviously born that way, but they may - or - may not develop those abilities until different times. For example, Peter could have been a mimic since being born, but never was in a situation to have to use them. (Peter seems to have a harder time understanding and then using his powers.)

well at least with the still not so smart Peter from the future practically causing a rift then taking Present Peter to the future, now Present Peter should have all the Future Peter's powers. That would make him more powerful than Sylar if the other Peter decides to teach him how to use them.

He would be stacked with a crap load of abilities including most of what Sylar has from the look of what FP was using in the first eps. I am taking it he killed Sylar in the Future fight in the hallway and got all those powers like Candace's.
