If the character Peter ends up being the one to combat the evil, he will need every live person with powers to utilize. Hence the tag line ? Just an opinion.
PETER AS SUPER-SUPER HERO?
Definitely,
not in powers but in sheer bravery.
Going in alone to save the cheerleader
facing almost certain death
with no power of his own...
that's super-super heroic.
That's what I think. He's a true hero for just going there regardless of his own probable death.
As per more than one hero at a time, I would think it could cause problems, because of the reconstruction. ie. Ted concentrates to achieve high levels of radiation while hiro concentrates t bend time. What if he has both. Also, it would be hard to use one or another power if all are in there (assuming he could hold multiple powers)
I think Peter retains the ability of the hero that he meets up with and keeps that ability until he runs into another hero, at which time he loses the previous heroes powers and takes on the new heroes powers. He got Claire's powers and kept them even after she left and has not as of yet met up with anyone else with a power to change it.
Well, it seems that the power does disappate. He could no longer fly after Nathan had left, he fell on his face several times.I think the power he absorbs may linger a bit, but I do not believe that it continues until he encounters another Hero.

Well, we all know that Peter mimics, that is pretty obvious now. Also the fact that Sylar is invulnerable is shown when Matt shoots him and Sylar falling with Peter. But it is shown the fall with both of them and Peter bleeds and dies(?) but Sylar has not a scratch on him. Does this mean Peter cannot copy that power? Or can he can not copy multiple powers at once?
i think it's just a telekinetic force field around sylar or at least he could've slowed himself down a bit just as soon as he was about to hit the ground.
I think the explanation is much more mundane. Sylar landed on top of Peter, and Peter took the full force of the impact. Sylar was uninjured because Peter broke his fall.

This explanation seems more plausible, I think. After all, Peter was mimicking Claire's powers for spontaneous regeneration at that point. And we've seen that Claire will bleed when injured, so that would explain why Peter bled out all over the place. It would seem that he can't mimic more than one person's power at a time.
There has to be some drawback to the mimicry like limited amount of people at once. It would be just too powerful if he just needs to stand near a whole bunch of supers and gain their abilities. Or perhaps he needs to focus beyond the first initial mimic.
