I assume peter will not have powers...now i have 2 theories as to why

1- lost memory, lost memory= he loses some of that "empathy" with the people he forgot, thus perhaps "forgetting" their ability..

2- HE'S A SPONGE! if you squeeze a sponge enough (like going nuclear), it'll become dry..maybe he's being kept away from people, therfore unable to mimic/absorb abilities

this is why i say this..because during preseason football, ravens vs..some other team on NBC, they hadda season 2 trailer, and it showed...PETER HANDCUFFED to some pipe, now, if he could use superstrength, this would be pointless...

Or Angela could be holding him and using the Haitian to block his abilities. Cause she does not really like peter to begin with and maybe she is just trying to make Nathan hate himself for not doing what she asked of him. I think he is being held prisoner personally.

heh, no but seriously, OF COURSE HE'S BEING HELD CAPTIVE, what im saying is, does he have powers or not, and WHY not. if he hasnt lost his memory, then yea, i agree the haitain is around...BUT, the haitain cannot block ALL powers, isnt it just mental ones? (we've seen ted use his powers, nathan fly, AND sylar get shot, but still use TK all around the haitain) so...maybe haitain, maybe not

First off, yes, peter is a sponge, in terms of the way he absorbs their powers, HOWEVER, he STORES them like a file cabinet. The writers have confirmed this. And yes, memory loss seems like the most likely reason peter won't have powers for a while. And who says Angela doesn't like peter? She was willing to sacrifice him in order to (in her eyes) save the world. But she tells charles (who she obviously doesn't hide anything from because he knows about all their plans) "don't get me wrong, I love that boy, but he can't even tie his shoe." I don't remember EXACTLY if she said tie his shoe, but I distinctly remember her saying don't get me wrong i love that kid. That doesn't rule her out from being his captor, it just shows that she doesn't hate peter or WANT him to die, it was just necessary for their world saving plans. And beyond that, it COULD be the hatian, but he was doing a major mission at the time of peter's explosion, so i think he may still be wrapped up in that. And if he IS around, no one has EVER confirmed what powers the Hatian is or isn't able to block. His motives and morals are STILL a mystery to us. He could had LET nathan fly. LET sylar go, let TED use his powers. Because he seems to know more than we do at this point. He could be Kane's apprentice or something. He's obviously working with Angela, so nathan flying, peter using powers, and sylar could all be things he knew had to happen in order for the explosion to happen. you know? But I won't rule out the hatian as being the cause of peter not being able to break out of prison

I favor the theory that Peter can't use his powers since he has lost his memory, but they are still present. If he doesn't remember having powers, he'll have to discover them again by accident. Or start dreaming about flight again - generally people don't try jumping off roofs. I don't think his powers get wrung out like a sponge. I agree that he might need to be able to remember the person he absorbed a power from in order to use it. I kind of doubt Angela is keeping him prisoner, as it seems a lot of trouble to go to if she wants to make Nathan feel guilty. Angela can probably do that anyway.

Well, the only correct prediction I've made was when I jumped on the Nathan bandwagon for Claire's father. So maybe what we're really going to see is Peter's powers are spent and he's being kept captive by his mother.

the haitian can block sylar's tk... he did when they first ran into him.... sylar tried to TK eden and he couldn't then she said "you dont want to harm me, you want to sleep" or something among those lines... so the haitian is well able to block sylar's TK.

nah, we dont even SEE the haitain till after Eden Says "u dont want to hurt me" "we just need to talk.." (basically im saying eden is the one that stoped sylar's TK, the haitain just kinda knocked him out)

when HRG shot sylar (i think in family man or the one right before that) sylar used TK to "stop" the bullets, or slow em down or something (cuz he gets up and books it)

I think his powers work however the writer need them to at the moment...

Peter's such a wishy-washy fella, that I could see him totally believing that he's not got any abilities. He loses his memory, and thinks that the reason he's in prison is because the bomb did go off, and he's being held for his own protection. However, because of the blast, his powers aren't going to work anymore. Something cheesy like that would make sense for the naive fella.

I could also see Peter being used against his brother, forcing Nathan to do things that he was starting to renounce before the end of HTSAEM. Angela just strikes me as that cold-blooded that she'd be willing to pit one son against the other just to make her goals and dreams come true. In that way, she's just exactly like Linderman.

I just had a thought:

Fusor was a patsy for the female character in Golden Handshake. What if Linderman was the patsy for Angela in season 1? I mean, I'm seeing a recurring theme here. Fusor diverted attention from the female in the GN, and Linderman diverted attention from Angela in the series.. Both died, and the females continued.

Does this make any sense??

THIS IS HOW HE GETS HIS SCAR! HE FORGETS HOW TO HEAL! Cool
