... and I don't think this has been theorized yet, so I don't mind if I do the honors, lol)

In the future portrayed in the GN "Walls," the public knows about specials, and they are being imprisoned, which could suggest that Peter went into hiding (or was forced into hiding) the very moment he awoke after exploding in the Future timeline. After all, Peter, himself, was not imprisoned, and furthermore, Mohinder is shocked to see Peter in "Five Years Gone," which impiles that Peter has been "missing" for five years. However, the most important line I take away from that novel is the very first one. Peter says, "It was about a year and change after the bomb when HIRO CAME TO ME for help."

Let's think about this for a moment. Sure, Hiro can go back and forth in time, but he doesn't have the ability to locate specific people. According to Hiro's blog (even though we don't know when the first entry was written), chances are he did not have access to Molly Walker until a few years after the explosion.

Thus, if Peter was in hiding, and Hiro did not have access to Molly Walker yet, then I propose that Hiro had to have had some kind of connection in order to get into contact with Peter. That connection?
Kaito.

What are the facts thus far? Kaito knows how to wield a sword, and extremely well as a matter of fact. He's also been living with an ability for years (and probably has perfect control over it). Furthermore, Future Hiro implies in his blog that something happened between his father and The Company, since it is ironic that his email address still works.

In regards to Peter, in "Walls," he is quite scruffy AND he has his gnarly scar. For me, the scruffiness implies that either Peter wanted to make himself look different to not be recognized, or he had no time to shave because he was busy doing something else, or both (I'm banking on the second of the two). Well, what could Peter have been doing all that time while in hiding?
TRAINING!

In "Walls," Peter was well aware of his abilities and could even call upon (AND CONTROL) new ones that he absorbed on the spot (the super speed and electricity as seen at the end of Walls part II).

Furthermore, if Peter is the one to lose his memory in Season 2 (which I really think he is, I'll explain below), we don't know if it was because of the 10,000 foot freefall, or if it was because of him physically exploding. I'm thinking that it was because of the explosion, which would mean that Future Peter temporarily lost his memory as well (Ted never lost his memory because he never had the chance to fully explode). So, if Future Peter lost his memory, there would have had to have been someone to help him bring it back and remind him of his abilities, not to mention help him become better at instantaneously using/recalling the powers he absorbs, as exemplified in "Walls" Part II.

Thus, I am proposing that Kaito is the one who has taken Peter and will be training him as a mimic, which could be going against the wishes of Angela (which is how he 'betrays' The Company).

Furthermore, in his training, Peter receives the scar from a sword-wielding Kaito, but at the time, Peter's memory loss prevents him from remembering that he can heal! So the wound heals as normal and remains on his face. If we remember, in episode 5 entitled "Hiros," Hiro says, "You look different without THE scar," almost as if the scar was something personal to Hiro as well, as if he (or someone he knew) gave it to Peter. Sure, it may just be a simple choice of words, but I like to imagine a little Cool

So, if Kaito is Peter's master, it could mean that Kaito is our second empath (as someone else has already theorized), and it would go along with Masi Oka's
Asterisk quiz that Acidtwister posted in the 'General Spoilers' thread (since it would provide a logical reasoning as to why we would find out what Kaito's power is in the very first episode of Season 2).

The only other possibility I can think of aside from Kaito training Peter would be Charles (which would go along with Jorm's theory that Charles is the other somewhat major character who we "think is dead but is still fully alive", according to spoilers). However, unless it was the two of them working together to train Peter, then it wouldn't explain Peter's scar.

Hmmm... it's a lot to take in, but does anybody have any thoughts?

Quite the interesting scenario PK.

I'm willing to listen to this, but I really am a bit skeptical of just how much air time they're going to allow Kaito in the show. After all, the show is mainly about the "new" generation of Heroes, and not the "old" characters.

Hrm. Maybe "Origins" will clear some of that up for us. Of course, I'm really not wanting to wait that long for answers, but who knows? Maybe they'll torture us like that for no real good reason!

Um, Jorm.... Origins won't have anything to do with our current "Heroes". It would be ALL NEW "Heroes", people we've never seen, and their first discovery of their powers (hence the term "Origins")... So, we won't get answers there.

As for Kaito getting the face time, and PK's theory, that is precisely the reason why I don't think this theory will come true. I simply don't think they would make a reveal like that, and take such a left turn in the story line.

But if it does, then, I bow down to PK and I shut the h... up never to be heard from again, because "I am not worthy!"

For now, I'll stick with the original theory that Angela has somehow rescued Peter and is holding him..., unless some other branch of the OWI comes to the fore.

Yeah, I'm still contemplating the Angela-kidnapping theory in the back of my mind as well considering that she is such an evil person. So, do you think she is holding Peter to keep him contained, or do you think she'll have him properly trained as a mimic?

I think that in order to properly introduce a new character, you need to have an established character bring them into the show.

But I remember now that "Origins" was going to be some kind of crap "reality" series to let the US decide who to bring into the show. I still think that this is a REALLY bad idea..

Anyway, I hope that they show some of the backgrounds concerning some of our "face time" characters, so that we can understand their place in the universe as well as the main characters..

Let's say that Angela was empathic (or whatever you want to call it) and has absorbed many abilities, many more than even Peter...

What's to say that it wasn't her that flew Peter up into the heavens instead of Nathan? What's to say the explosion never even happened and it was an Angela produced illusion? Maybe she flew him high up in the air, killed him (temporarily of course) or even let him blow before she took him where she wanted.

Far flung... And I don't buy it, but it at least shows how little we know and how many other possibilities are out there. The writers have definitely shown us that the answers they give us often have flaws.

At the very least...
We should consider the fact that Angela would have been with Nathan before he left and she would have had a real good idea what he was going to do. She also would have seen the explosion. What would Angela do then? Who would she call? Other than the Haitian, who else might she contact? Claude? WTTB? Kane/Kensei? Sophie? Donald Trump?

I think all this will have some bearing on what happened to Peter and Nathan. The answer though will have to be something we watch, however, and either say "Duh" as in how come I didn't think of that... or "Duh" that's a stupid solution.

the only problem i have with this theory is why would Kaito be training Peter with a sword? Peter might have lost his memory but he still has the power to mimic. So why stab a person when wou can TK him off a cliff

I like it except that I have my reservations on who's keeping him. I'll stay open to the idea, but I personally think that Peter is being held captive by Angela/The Haitian. The reason being the way she acts towards Nathan when she tells him that Pete would still be around if he'd listened to her. When we saw Peter die in front of Angela towards the end of the season, she was distraught. She showed some sort of sadness.

The way she screams at Nathan, to me, is only screaming that she knows he's alive, where he is, and that she doesn't have to worry about Pete escaping because he won't have his powers available to him. She's got the Haitian to remove the grubs of Peter's memories. Why I think it's the Haitian: it just seems far too reminiscent of Brody's condition in the hospital, and looking at him, he doesn't have a head injury, or bandages that might be covering a head injury underneath hair that looks like it could have caused memory loss.

The explosion causing his memory loss is just senseless, imo. Ted was fine after he went nuclear in the Bennets' home. Fully exploding or not wouldn't matter. Nuclear explosions, and using your powers (unless you're the Haitian) has absolutely no effect on memory. It just doesn't make sense, as the two aren't linked in any way. Peter's brain is not electrical, the EMP would not erase his memories, nor would the explosion that happens OUTSIDE of his body completely shielding his brain from the effects. If "fully exploding" made him completely lose his memory, then, he should equally lose a little bit of memory every time he explodes, a bigger amount the larger the explosion.

It's not from hitting the water or ground because, as I said, there's no injury. And to say that it's gone from his healing is to be contradictory to your theory that he lost his powers because he "forgot" how to use them. The memories were taken from him, and it's the only explanation that's anywhere near plausible, imo. He's being manipulated by his mother, since he's the one to change the future and Nathan wasn't, just as Charles had predicted, when Angela hadn't listened to him.

I liked your theory. It's classic PopKorn.

Not that it matters anymore, but I'm not sure Angela would want Peter trained to use his abilities, as he has already been hard to control.

Regarding why Kaito would bother to teach someone with TK to fight with a sword: Kaito might still find the sword a useful way to train someone's spirit. That's one reason kendo is still very popular in Japan.

This one might still matter: Someone can have a big enough concussion to cause memory loss, with no visible injury. A bang on the head that causes concussion does not necessarily cause lacerations. I should know - I had five by the time I was twelve.

Another thing is, as we've seen with the hatian, TK may not always be there to help you, so if that's the case, and i wasn't able to use any other powers, that sword training would be looking pretty good.
