We seem to learn more about the Haitan and his father. The Haitan becomes more aware of his power, and the ending is a real mystery.
IMO I think that the Haitan has complety wiped out the villagers memories (from the distress of his fathers attack on him) leaving them as thoughtless zombies...
Any thoughts. |

To me, this is still reinforcing the idea that The Haitian could have the power to become WTTB.. After all, the can drain powers, he can remove memory, he is quite possibly the most sinister character, since for over 3/4 of the series we never heard him speak, yet his presence inspired fear and the feeling of "Big Brother Watching Over You" Type of mentality.
I'd have to say that I'm leaning more towards this idea, but I don't know if it's just me reading too much into the novel, or if it's just my wanting something I write to be correct again.. I dunnoo.. It's been so long since I've had a real good intuitive strike, I'm wondering if I've lost my touch |

Maybe you're standing to close to the Haitian... or he is following you |

What is the truth anyway?
Nah, I don't think the Haitian is that powerful. I think he just wiped their memories, all at once, inadvertently.
That will help his dad who will now banish him. |

| I thought part one of this gn said he could inspire either bliss or fear. Now, as for what the Hatian did to the villagers while his father was beating him: why wasn't his father affected? And what exactly did he do to them? My thoughts are that his Memory-wipe is just a minor aspect of his power. I mean, how exactly does that relate to being able to cancel other people's powers? I say his power is much greater than just taking memories; that was just the most convenient use the company found for him, or maybe the only thing he told them/knew he could do at the time. |

I agree that the Haitian's full power/capability has not yet been revealed.
Isn't it strange how there is a "boogieman" mentioned in these GN's? It seems that there is some enemy or something. Rather odd for the writers to specifically choose "boogieman". Considering they have only released part 2 of 5 it will be interesting to see where they take us.
I'm guessing the Haitian leaves Haiti by the end of #5. Before then he might come in contact with WTTB or at the very least some of the new characters that will be introduced in Generations. Kane, anyone? Maya? ... Buehler? ... |

Yeah - it looks like Haitian definitely (and inadvertently) mindwiped the villagers in front of his father.
I'm leaning towards Jorm little by little - I think this does in fact show that Hatian has the potential to be our WTTB. However, with the spoiler that says that
the WTTB has been cast, it makes it seem as if it's a new character - so I'm hoping for that just to spice the series up a little.
When you think about it, he probably has one of the most powerful (and harmful) abilities out there. Sure, empathy, TK, invisibility, flight, pyrokinesis, healing, etc, are all incredible, but imagine having the ability to mess with the minds of others permanently. Imagine that the Haitain erased a child from a mother's/father's mind (similar to HRG, only this time it was a completely erasure). To me, I think that for the child, that would be exponentially worse than any amount of physical pain that some of these other abilities can inflict.
...just a thought.
Speaking of that... a new theory just came to me - I think Hatian is going to erase his father's mind of him so that his father will forget all of the pain that Haitian brought to the village... which could make him a very angry/lonely/CRAZY person - and possibly our Boogyman #2. |

Come PK! Come over to the dark side!
Seriously, I'm really thinking more and more that The Haitian's got some serious power behind the abilities we've seen.. The ability to negate an ability in a given radius, plus the removal of memory.. it all smacks to me of a negation field that can be focused. If he could take that negation and apply it to a specific part of the brain, it would remove the memory, leaving nothing. |

I hate to be the one to burst your bubbles, but...
According to CBR, it is NOT the Haitian. Straight from the horses' (producers') mouths, in their last Behind the Eclipse:

Jason Aiken wants some hints as to what's coming next for "Heroes." "This person who Molly fears worse than Sylar, it wouldn't happen to be the Haitian would it? He was really one of the only major players absent from the finale and he has those weird mental powers. If not him, is it someone we've met already or could she be referring to someone we haven't met?"
You will have to wait until next season Jason Aiken, but just because we love giving you some hints and spoilers – we can assure you it is not the Haitian. |
Here's the link: CBR Behind the Eclipse
Add that to what PK said about WTTB being cast already, and I think it's pretty safe to say it's not the Haitian. At least not in his current form.....*shifty eyes*
It's a very good idea, though. |

**SNIFF** Oh, Jorm, no . . . Run, you must, PK . . .
My big reason for thinking that the Hatian's power is larger than power negation/memory wiping is Mrs. Bennet. I mean, why would a power specifically designed to remove your memories screw up a person's brain? It's almost like the memory erasure is a perversion of what his power really does . . . |
