WOW, at first i thought linderman was the guy that could heal but....maybe its Mr. Petrelli. The only reason im saying that is cuz of at the end when the officer guy tells the medic "u can save a few dozen lives or THOUSANDS!"
(sounds like linderman in the next eps!)
unless of course he chooses to fight, and then because of whatever happens, he knows its a good thing to do.
Does anyone else think that Austin looks like:
A blonde Peter?
Now there's a thought. Austin is the one who expressed second thoughts about destroying the village, so
perhaps he continued to have second thoughts after the fact. Angela had said Petrelli Sr. was suicidal at times, maybe this is the reason. Although OTOH I've started to doubt whether his suicide attempts really were suicide attempts.
The spiel that Dallas gives sounds like the speech Linderman gave to Nathan. Now imagine Austin getting that speech and then when the time came passing that message back down to someone else?
My take? Austin is Linderman. Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong, but I don't think that I am as of now. Too many coincidental matchings are going on.
Austin in drawn with hispanic features in the 3rd part. I was thinking the resemblance to Peter was uncanny in the 2nd part, but with the new comic and them showing more of his background, I simply don't see it matching with any current player.
exactly, im thinking the guy that gave the speech (dallas?) = linderman maybe.....but that doesnt quite make sense.
we KNOW linderman has a power right? so..unless dallas eventually finds that he himself has a power....
linderman= the healer?
maybe...if linderman is austin the medic guy, and they take down the village/farm thing, and it DOES indeed save thousands of lives, then....in HIS mind, the sacrifice of the few DID indeed save the many. linderman will have then had a first person view of what he later tries to do again. (when he tells nathan)
its just weird that dallas was the one that sounded like linderman...im kinda hoping the medic guy= Pa Petrelli
I just find it very interesting that we already have someone who can heal herself (Claire), and now some who can/could heal others (Austin). I use the past tense becasue we do not know if this person is still alive or not.
Let's say that Papa Petrelli really was Austin - then it could explain where Claire got her ability from, meaning that Papa Petrelli's healing gene was passed on through Nathan (and even though it is inactive - since we know that Nathan's ability is flight, not healing - it is still written somewhere in Nathan's DNA), and by Nathan combining DNA with Meridith, Papa Petrelli's healing gene was passed down, became active once again, and a self-healer was born... something like:
Someone who can heal others + someone who can create something (fire) within her own body = someone who can create healing within her own body.
Now, I'm not sure if this is true but (if there are any doctors/biologists in the house, your help would be appreciated) for sons who are wondering if they will have hair or be bald when they're old, I've heard that you're supposed to look to your mother's father? For Claire, Papa Petrelli would obvoiusly be her paternal grandfather, but could this genetic similarity be related to the son/maternal grandfather hair scenario I mentioned?
The male pattern baldness you are talking about has a gene on the X chromosome. A female has two X chromosomes, and can pass down either to her offspring. Everyone needs at least one X chromosome - it has some non-gender-related functions. A male has an X and a Y chromosome. If he passes down the X, the offspring is female; if he passes down the Y, the offspring is male. Since males only get one X chromosome, if that one says "bald," they go bald. Females get two copies, so if they get one that says "bald" and one that says "not," they don't go bald. The "not bald" gene is dominant, but if you don't have one, you're stuck with "bald". It's also activated by hormones, so a female with two copies that say "bald" won't go as bald as soon as a male.
EDIT: There is also mitochondrial DNA - DNA outside the nucleus in the mitochondria. This is always from the mother, with no contributions from the father. I don't know what traits are connected with it. /EDIT
Anything that was on Petrelli Sr's X chromosome is lost, unless he has a daughter somewhere (it could happen). Nathan and Peter both have the same Y chromosome as their father. So the X-linked partial dominance wouldn't explain Popkorn's theory about Nathan being a carrier.
There could be some other kind of recessive gene at work (for which both parents have to be carriers), or multiple alleles. Multiple alleles means that more than one pair of genes affect the trait, so you don't get a simple dominant/recessive decision.

This feels forced to me. Meredith and Nathan could both be carriers for Claire's power, so it may not even be related to the powers they have. Or a variation on that theme - one of them is a carrier for something which results in Claire's power when combined with the gene for the other's power.

Lol... it was forced, Pay, and intentionally, but I hoped that people would see right through it . I was just trying to use a play on words to somehow support the fact that Austin is Papa Petrelli.
