Here's what I don't get - if she stole all that money, then why did she have to strip? Why didn't Jessica pay for things? Why did Jessica feel she had to hide the money?
Actually, there are alot of things I don't get about this situation. I still think they are two people temporarilty melded. There has to be an evil twin somewhere!
So you're thinking they are two separate people, one of which has a conscious, but like yin and yang, there is not perfect black or white in their characters.
Yea. Something like that. It just seems that EVERYTHING about Nikki is different from Jessica. And Jessica doesn't really seem to care all that much about Nikki - you'd think she would somewhat if it was her. The only time Jessica gets her panties in a wad is if the child gets threatened somehow. Hey, maybe he really is the key to Jessica's powers.
It does appear that Jessica does care about Micah and at least the physical well-being of Niki. She appears when Niki has any physical confrontation or when Micah is threatened.
I don't think that Niki and/or Jessica is evil, Jessica is just willing to do whatever Niki isn't willing to do, in order to protect Micah. I'm not really decided on whether or not they're two different people, or the same person. I think they're two different people because in Episode 6 when they're talking they're obviously in two differents spots, and Jessica's hair is more curly/wavy, than Niki, who has relatively straight hair. Or am I just imagining that?

I agree for the most part...
"Jessica" is willing to do what it takes to protect her own. but as in "Six Months Ago" it was stated that she was raised in an abusive home. Which Niki her self does not remember. She is obviously surpressing these memories. She was destined to have these powers. Like heroes/villiains, their his/herstory determines their path in life. I personally think Niki is suffering from multiple personality due to her violent past. With her powers emerging like just about anyone else due to stress it chose to manifest as a duel personality because of the painful surpressed memories. The same person just suffering from a mental disorder....much like sylar.
as the narrator says...
"For all his bluster, it is the sad province of man that he cannot choose his trials. He can only choose how he will stand when the call of destiny comes. hoping that he will have the courage to answer."
It has always seemed to me that Jessica is a really separate entity sharing Niki's body, and not a split personality created unconsciously by Niki to protect herself. Now that we know Jessica was also the name of Niki's sister, my impression is that the situation is something like possession, and that Jessica did not die, but stayed behind sharing Niki's body.
Jessica seems to have fewer moral restrictions than Niki, or acts on her passions more. Jessica is much more of an "ends justifies the means" kind of gal and has ended up doing wrong. Her secret life of crime has put her in bad situations such as the battle with DL or having to kill to protect herself (her life or her other crimes).
i think that nikki doesnt have a power at all but it was her dead sister possesing her or that she does and that later on in the show she will be able to handle on her own and nikki will be one if anyone saw the old jackie chan adventures cartoon where jackie got split in two and i think it is just the same and later will resorb to be on person and i wonder why hrg hasnt tried to get Nikki and do whatever he does when he gets em
I'm on the fence as to whether it is split personality or possession, but am glad that Nikki showed some strength in "Fallout" and was able to overcome Jessica for Micah's sake. I also however think she is incrediably stupid to turn herself in, bc if Jessica does come back, do you think any cell could hold her? I think Nikki learning more mental discipline/strength would be a better course of action, so that she can give Jessica the mental smackdown when she tries to emerge.
Also I don't think Jessica is evil so much as Machiavellian

I think being in jail will at least slow Jessica down from getting at DL and Micah again. Maybe that will give Niki time to develop that mental discipline.
me and my friend were just talking about Jessica during lunch today
We think that Jessica, Niki's sister, had the power to possess, or astral project herself, and when she died she went into Niki. And then Niki would have the power of super strength, but only appears when Jessica shows up, because she knows how to access the ability, since she knows her power already. I think its a pretty good guess on it.
Jessica/Niki is my favorite hero But I'm afraid that the story of D.L., Micah and Niki may not be involved with the saving the world. Maybe they're just a story of people who had abilities, but hopefully i get proven wrong because I think Jessica's power is REALLY helpful Hopefully she WILL save the world also
niki and jessica... the turning world of alteregos. Well, afer episode 10, it's pretty obvious why Niki's the way she is. If your sister had been killed by your father, it would severely affect you
