Is there anyway to make this message stand-out a little more. I didnt read this when I first came on and I thought I could post topics right away so i type a new topic for about 30 mins. and i finally click post and I didnt even have 5 posts yet so ya I had to re-type it and everything i was really sad
Excellent suggestion, I have added a link to this thread to the welcome message every new member gets.
why all these rules for a messageboard? Does anyone know of a heroes related website that is more american and free of these stupid restrictions. This is like the coolest show and it would nice to go to a board where you can have the freedom to compliment, complain, and just talk about the show without having passed a Heroes Rule Book bar exam first.
So there is my first reply let me find another place to do my second.

This is simply a small way to try and eliminate multiple threads on the exact same topic.
I agree. After all, we seem to get quite a few cross-topics anyway, and keeping those down to a minimum is nice for a change.
If you want to post things, then look over the site, find something that sparks your interest, and then comment on it for a while. Don't just go in for the heck of it, and start monkey repeating everything you've been hearing or reading on other sites. That's just a bit overboard. I like Heroes just as much as the next person, but I'm also willing to express my opinions in a controlled forum instead of having to have my own soapbox to preach from..

I'm sorry you feel that way. The rules in place on this board are to make this a better place for all the members here, and for no other reason. As far as "freedom to compliment, complain, and just talk about the show" I don't know of a Heroes fan site that covers those areas better than this one. I base that statement on the feedback of the users of the board, and not my own personal bias.

First of all, the internet isn't "American". If you expect it to be, then you're going to be sorely mistaken and disappointed on many websites that you visit. Freedom of speech and whatnot do not apply on the internet on many sites. In fact, on most sites, you have to agree to a terms of agreement when you sign up. Those are the rules you follow. Not American law or civic rights.
They spammed the same topic three times in three different forums. Even in forums that it had absolutely nothing to do with. Check out their history before that. 2 posts that are really not that relevant to what the post was, as they were just basic thoughts on the subject of the thread, and not really adding anything to the current discussion going on in them. You can tell they posted those just so they could get the ability to post a new topic, which lead to them spamming the boards.
We have this rule in place for multiple reasons, one of them being to prevent people like this person from coming in here and ruining your experience on the boards. If you don't like it, that's fine. You can have an opinion. But just know that there are rules everywhere on the internet, and the places that don't have them tend to be quite a bit uglier than those that do.
Thanks for pointing this out AcidTwister, somehow I missed this one. If you guys ever see spam like this use the "Report Topic" link at the bottom left of every topic to report it, and either I or one of the mods will get right on it.
Well said, Acidtwister, spoken like a true moderator! The words "duck to water" spring to mind.
SH I think you made the right decision taking it (back?) down to 2 posts before new topic authority is granted. Enough of a deterrent to the idle troll, but not so much as to put off the lazy-but-interested newcomers. The rest are probably like I was when I first started lurking here - so interested in the ongoing conversations that it was quite a while before I even THOUGHT about starting a topic on my own....
I'd just like to point out that the "rules" and "restrictions" on this site are far from being restrictive. The only one that I had a problem with isn't a problem for me any more and not worth mentioning. Anybody who thinks the rules ARE too restrictive should take a look at the mess of disorganised forums out there with no rules, or the empty forums with too many rules to see that superhiro.org has managed to strike a happy medium between the two states.
It has been, and still is my favourite port of call for Heroes discussion.

All right, here's my response to one...not interesting in spamming, just wanted to post something to share with people. So let me mosey off and find something else to respond to and then we can get down to the sharing lol.
