|
|
In episode 3 (I believe) when the blonde FBI agent and Matt are walking down the hall, Matt asks about Sylar. Here is the convo that ensues:
"Matt: Who is this Sylar? What's he doing?
FBI Agent: Leaves a trail across a dozen states... all people impaled by household objects... bones broken, all without any traceable signs of physical contact, but only some of them involve any mutilation of the head or neck, so they don't see the connections.
Matt: You think it's all him?
FBI Agent: I think it's going to get a lot worse if someone doesn't go after him."
So, I guess we can ask some questions. Why does he used household objects to kill his victims? Is it just out of convenience because they are right there for him to use via telekinesis? Or is it a clue? Why do only some of them involve any mutilation of the head or neck? We have hypothesized that Sylar is going after others with special abilities so he can absorb their brains. How does he know who to target and what families to go after? Also, if only some of those murders involve mutilation of the head/neck, how does Sylar know which of these victims have powers and which do not? After all, "only SOME of them involve any mutiliation of the head." Why does he exclude some of them, and how does he know which heads to not slice open? Any ideas? |

he learned how to track down supers through participating in Chandra Suresh's research... and I vote convenience on the killing via telekinesis + household items... he can appear unarmed at all times and be completely unencumbered
I dont know about the stealing powers through brains thing though... from the very beginning, it's sounded a little too campy to fit in with this show |

| im pretty sure thats his power. thats how he was able to stop the bullets from ever reaching him. since "save the cheerlead, save the world" is in effect, i was wondering if he tries to injure his victims to see if there is a heal factor. no heal factor = you die. dont know why/how he froze dude eating cereal though. |

| I think that the families are picked because of his studies with Suresh. The only ones mutilated by him, are the ones that actually have powers. THe use of household items is plain convenience. I don't know about the frozen dude, unless freezing was his power and he used it against him somehow. |

I agree with Paperclip, I think that freezing may have been that guys power and
Sylar used it against him.
I belive he is stealing brains not for 'gaining thier powers' but to research them.
Like Captain Barbosa says "People are easier to search when they're dead."
Ohhhhh sooo many questions! |

That is an interesting possibility. We do know that Sylar has left a string of deaths across the country (USA) and potentially much further abroad than that (though the FBI may not know about those).
If Sylar's power is finding others with this power, it could explain how he knows so much about these people. Much more than Chandra Suresh knew. If he also had the ability to somehow take other peoples power, that could be how he got telekinesis, freezing, mega-jumping/flying, etc.
And now he is going after Claire to get spontaineous regeneration.
Dang... |

Where did they ever state or infer that it was Sylar that was stole/ate/ingested/absorbed Issac's brain?
I theorize that maybe it was HRG and Voodooman that killed Issac, stole his brain to study it, as it appears to me that they are some kind of government agency or privately funded medical facility. Most likely tehy needed his brain for some kind of experimentation or research into the 'supers'.
The skull-cap cut on Issac's head appeared to be a bit too surgical for someone to pop the top off his head and start 'eating' his brain as so many people have suggested, that is one of the reasons why I have to lean towards medical research.
Perhaps with prior knowledge of the nucular (haha I said it like George W.) explosion, they found it necessary to locate and obtain as much data/specimen samples as they could before it went off. Anyway, I am beginning to Ramble.... thoughts? |

It is Sylar's MO.
In the house with the little girl, there was a frozen guy, with the top of his skull removed - and no brain.
Also, in Sylar's apartment, there was a book on brains, with pictures of the back of a person's skull removed and brain visible. (a picture in a book - Eden commented "A little light reading before bed?" when she saw it).
HRG's MO is to grab people, freak them out with Voodoo, study and tag them, then erase their memory and let them go. |

| Ok then, I stand corrected regarding the brain situation. I obviously must review the first few episodes again! |
