Candice has a real mean streak, and she's not above kicking a man when he's down. But she would have to have found out Nathan's role in the whole thing. And to make him see her illusion, either she's following him around, or she learned how to do it at a distance. Also, if someone is making Nathan see things, that someone does not have to be WTTB.

My initial thought is that Nathan's reflection shows his guilty conscience. But, since I spent episodes 11 - 19 of season 1 thinking Peter's dream was metaphorical, I'll go with someone like Candice casting an illusion on Nathan.

Well, even if his kids asked him, it could still be an illusion. I mean, Sylar was fooling the entire world for a good while. Remember our heated debate about how the cameras wouldn't pick up the bending of light and blah blah....? lol that was hilarious. but seriously, if it IS an illusion, then nathan's kids would probably be fooled too IMO.

Actually, in another thread, I posted that as being the other way around. Linderman was working for WTTB.

Anyway, how can Nathan grow a beard through all of that burn scar tissue? Isn't that physically impossible??

Payqage and Obsidian, can you shed some light on this? Hair growing through scar tissue, especially burn tissue.. Is that really possible??

I would assume the follicles would be burned, thus, no hair.

Which would mean that he either got surgery (though I don't know of many people who would get hair transplants to the face)

Exactly. So why this whole idea that he's got massive scarring under his beard? If he's burned, there'd be no beard to begin with!

I dunno.. Still seems a bit fishy to me..

Mybe it's like a toupee, but it's a beard? You know, glue it on, to cover up the burns?

Something just ain't right here... Confused

I'm going with illusion. Unless the writers can think of a clever way to show us that Nate's face didn't get burned, which I'm sure they could.

Either that, or he scalped Emo Peter before he blew up and glued it to his face, which is why Peter has no hair now:

It could have been anyone. I'm sure there is more than one healer, and definitely another empath who might have the power. You may not want to admit it, but duplicate powers are happening, and we know empathy is one of them.
