Honestly, here's my whole take on Nathan and his face:
Nathan is still plagued by the fact that his brother is gone. He was shown in the last series to be someone who distances himself from others because he tends to care TOO MUCH.
When you take this fact into consideration, you'll get someone who is emotionally tied to a victim that just went nuclear. In his eyes, Nathan feels that he should have done more to help Peter deal with his problem. The guilt he's feeling is eating him up inside, and he's not quite able to bring himself to admit that he wasn't strong enough to stay with Peter until he exploded.
Nathan dropped Peter when it was near the critical time, and for that, he's punishing himself. He sees himself as he should look, and curses himself for not looking like someone who just barely survived a nuclear explosion.
That's my take on it, anyway. Angela isn't helping matters, as she's just adding fuel to the fire with Nathan and his guilt.
Thoughts?
That's a definite possibility. Here's another thought. Any chance that WTTB is messing with Nathan's head too, making his guilt/visions even worse which drove him to drink? They have to do more with WTTB than just haunting a little girl at some point. Or I should say, they have to show us more of what he's doing beyond haunting Molly sooner or later. And getting in others heads seems to be his thing.
I like Jorm's theory in that Nathan is seeing himself with a face of guilt - a horribly scarred exterior. It's definitely Nathan, since Obsidian has confirmed that Adrian was walking around the set with facial-burn makeup. I can see where some might thing it's Peter - the swoop in the hair. However, in Season 1, Peter never had a swoop in his hair - Nathan did though. And while there's a lot of makeup on the face, you can clearly see that the facial features - nose, chin, forehead - are Adrian's.
There's a good chance that Peter got mindwiped because as Acidman posted a few weeks ago, neither the explosion nor a fall (as large as it may be) would erase Peter's memory. Claire jumped from 20+ stories, healed, ran away, and still remembered everything. There's no reason that Peter couldn't do the same.
So if Peter was mindwiped, it had to have been after he exploded which means that when Peter fell back to earth, his body still remembered how to heal. If Peter's body forgot how to heal before fell back down to earth, then he'd be dead. Simple as that. Regardless of whether or not Peter can be injured by his own ability (going nuclear), his body did remembered how to heal, so his face would have never looked like that to begin with.
Lastly, Peter didn't necessarily have to explode to give Nathan those burns. They could have just as easily been received while Nathan was carrying Peter into the sky. Nathan held Peter close to his body - which was pretty much the only way he would get Peter sky high in my opinion - so his face could have gotten burned on the way up.
Aside from the hair style (which is an easily-changed feature), everything is the same... lips, nose, forehead, and facial contour. The cat's in the bag!
I'm sure Peter did burst into flames before exploding, thinking back to what happened to Ted. I don't see how Nathan could hold on at all - tho I'm sure he tried - and I'm sure he got some burns... Actually, I don't want to think about what happened up there, because I can't imagine it being anything short of horrific >_<
I really hope those burns we saw really are just Nathan's guilty imagination, and not the truth behind some illusion. Because His brother's going to feel pretty wretched for disfiguring him like that (if he ever remembers of course - which I'm sure he will).
I can't beleive I'm sitting here wishing away my weekend!
Thanks for the thought-food,

"Heroes' Adrian Pasdar said that with the "special recount" — NBC's creative ratings strategy in counting two Heroes airings as one showing — "it looks like 18 million people" tuned into the premiere. "It's always good when people watch your show," he grinned. All he could reveal about upcoming plotlines is that Nathan will shave his Grizzly Adams-type beard next week. "I have a scene with my children, and I ask them if they like the beard and they both say, unequivocally, 'No.' But there's a reason I have the beard," hinting it had something to do with Nathan's briefly glimpsed scarred reflection."
How about this---Candice was helping Linderman, because she wanted to punish the world for its attitude toward beauty/appearances. She is angry that the plan was foiled by Nathan and begins to exact revenge by making him think that he is disfigured. To Nathan, the image we saw in the mirror is his reality. Candice could also be WTTB. That would explain Molly's dreams (also a perception).
I don't think she's tormenting Molly. The way she acted around Micah makes me think she likes children. I bet WTTB's power is one better than Candi's - I bet he can make his imagination reality! Not just illusion! That would make for an awesome Nemesis.
It's possible she might be tormenting Nathan though. But again I don't think she'd bother. He's already being a bit of a loser at this moment in time - he doesn't need help to be miserable. Hurry up and come back to us Nath!
