Nathan had to have healed. Nuclear blasts move about the same speed he can fly, so even if he did drop him long before the explosion, he'd get hit by it, as there was no smoke trail showing him hitting Mach 1. One way or another, he was hit by the explosion, so he HAS to have burns on him, unless he was healed by someone.
Yeah, I can only see it being one of two things - either Nathan was healed by someone, or there is some kind of permanent illusion going on. I don't think that Linderman is still alive though, so I doubt he was the one to do the healing.
If Nathan did once possess those scars, then I don't think the theory of him being an mimic would work. The facial scars and burn marks implied that the face healed that way, and if he had a healing ability, his face would never have had the chance to look like that. Just my thoughts...
By the way... I still think Angela was that woman in the Graphic Novel and that she is a mimic herself, so with that said she could have healed Nathan herself.
First of all, I don't think Angela is a mimic because of the sole reason that there are millions of things she could have done on her own as a mimic. Either nathan got healed by peter or another meta or he never got burned. I don't care how much you wanna say he's just as fast as the explosion itself. I doubt they're taking that into account. And there's no concrete evidence saying that Nathan can ONLY fly at the speed of sound. AND I just don't see a lot of this stuff happening. I only see Nathan as someone who can FLY not mimic. It makes no sense. Like seriously. Linderman is dead too. I'm pretty sure DL is too. And that makes the death of DL worthless.

Which GN was that?
It was in "The Golden Handshake"
Someone posted an interview with one of the writers recently. The writer said that (1) the "report" of what happened with Claude in France had 'false' information, and (2) the woman's name in that novel was "Anya." Anya and Angela are too similar a name for me in my opinion. Could be an alias, or a past name.
Here's the conversation between Claire and Angela in ".07%" (I think it was that episode):
Angela: That’s why you have to go get you away like we planned…
Claire: By shipping me off to paris?
Angela: For now, yes. I'll be taking you there myself. You'll have a chance to grow up and develop into someone who can make her own choices. And then if you choose to come back and join this madness – LIKE I ONCE DID – at least I will have given you the option.
This means that Angela once "went away" and then "came back" to join the madness. So I propose that she went to France, and that Claude and Haram were sent to find her.
This is more for the Graphic Novel section of the forum, but I still think that the woman was indeed invisible when Claude and Haram got to the area where the tree was, which would mean she absorbed it from Claude. And if this woman is Angela, then she could have definitely been the one to heal Nathan. We'll find out soon... hopefully...
Hey.. This is a little off topic, but I was just wondering how much more stuff PK can cram into his sig.. Geez.. It's like 3/4 of a page just for all of his stuff, much less what he posts!

I would also tend to think that it would have to be more along the lines of bringing him back to life and healing him. The extent of the injuries we saw would certainly have killed him and if they didn't, he would have lost consciousness and fell to the ground and that would have done it.
I don't think that he died and was brought back. I think that when he got Peter high enough I think that he let go and tried to fly away but was caught in the blast. He was then thrown into the water around New York. The blast caught him and disfigured him. The Company found him and fixed him up. How they did it is a mystery to me but I think that there may be another Linderman or he has someone like Candice following him around. But I am sure that we will all find out in the 4 months ago episode.
My opinion is the whole burnt nathan reflection was just another creative license the makers took to illustrate the pain he feels and compound upon the downward spiral the character has taken since the events of the finale. Much like the Peter/Sylar voice change. Much like the Nikki/Jessica split personality reflection gimmick.
There is, however, another possible explanation here... Nathan has been around both early instances of Kaito's killer dealing out death cards. (Nathan shoulder bumped Ando in the street in Kirby Plaza, and Angela's death card was left outside of Nathan's apartment) Could Nathan's reflection have some kind of connection to this killer's powers/actions that we aren't aware of yet?

Both excellent points, and could be just as valid as anything else posted on this thread so far!
I've been reading the forums for a looong time, I've just never had anything to contribute! So now I have, I decided to create an account and say hello!
I'll hide this since I've never posted before, and I am unsure whether or not it would breach the board rules if I didn't hide it. I'm at work at the moment and kind of in a rush so I do appologise but will read the board rules when I get home!
"Nathan, who was so in control and determined as a political candidate last year, has seemingly lost it all and has no goals. He drinks alone in a bar and is haunted by a disfigured version of himself. Who is this vision and what is the symbolism behind his horrible disfigurement?"
Wow, ok! So ... WHO is this vision? We all know it's Nathan, so is the director imlpying that someone else is creating the vision? Or could it be that Nathan will pull a Niki/Jessica and maybe, just maybe, be the "old school" killer? Hmm =/
Honestly, here's my whole take on Nathan and his face:
Nathan is still plagued by the fact that his brother is gone. He was shown in the last series to be someone who distances himself from others because he tends to care TOO MUCH.
When you take this fact into consideration, you'll get someone who is emotionally tied to a victim that just went nuclear. In his eyes, Nathan feels that he should have done more to help Peter deal with his problem. The guilt he's feeling is eating him up inside, and he's not quite able to bring himself to admit that he wasn't strong enough to stay with Peter until he exploded.
Nathan dropped Peter when it was near the critical time, and for that, he's punishing himself. He sees himself as he should look, and curses himself for not looking like someone who just barely survived a nuclear explosion.
That's my take on it, anyway. Angela isn't helping matters, as she's just adding fuel to the fire with Nathan and his guilt.
The face in the reflection is Peter... No doubt in my mind what-so-ever about that...
Right. Its far fetched but what the hell... Remember that Peter has crossed paths with Nikki/Jessica, It still hasnt came to light exactly what Jessica's power is because we discovered in the last episode of season 1 that it was, infact, Nikki who has super strength. I dont know if there's a connection or not but Peter could be doing the whole 'reflection-in-the-mirror-communication' thing....
Probably not though as he apparently has no memory of who he is never mind Nathan. To be honest I think it's just Nathan cracking up over the death of his brother, after all it was mention that Nathan spirals into a very dark place.
I dont think Nathan will become evil though, I think he will be a driving force for the good guys later in the season. I do however think that Peter could quite possibly become bad, even if just for a little while. He's lost his memory and has fell into the clutches of some kind of thieves guild... When they learn of his powers they could quite easily decide to manipulate him and use him. So I think either they'll have a fight and Peter will escape with the thieves constantly pursuing him OR Peter will join them, either way they need to bring all of the characters together at some point so the Irish guys will probably meet them via Peter.
Im also interested in finding out a bit more about West and what his story is, who his parents are etc... (by the way, if he can fly and likes to take advantage of his ability then why does he have a car? lol)
