I like Peter - I hope that doesn't come back to bite me.

Hey, maybe he's going to be like the leader of the group and will help inhance the others abilities!

Peter is definitely a mimic. He drew the future after spending time near Isaac (the stick figure drawing of him flying in front of his brother).

First deception... peter can fly
Second deception... peter has rogue-like powers

Actually, if you look at the chronological order of things, peter is more than Rogue, his power closely resembles that of sylar... he doesn't lose the abilities he has been able to duplicate.

1. peter comes into contact with painter
2. peter jumps from the roof... comes into contact with flying nathan. peter flies at the last minute (according to nathan)
3. peter is at the hospital recovering. he draws the future... in stick.
4. peter walks on air while atop the building with his brother

only problem is... for now peter seems to be able to call forth his ability only when he is angry or emotionally disturbed

I believe he could be a mimic because he said that he can fly and draw the future. I don't know about the second one but if it is true but that sound like a mimic to me. After all, the dreams about flying and his bro always being there. Can't fly with out his big bro to mimic from. But then again, maybe it takes a lot of exposure to actually keep the powers.

I guess only time will tell what his powers are exactly.

Hiro can't choose who he freezes!

Peter wasn't effected (*affected) because he is a MIMIC. He said it himself in E4, when talking with Mohinder ("Maybe I only have powers when i'm around others with powers. Does that sound lame?") He was mimicing or mirroring Hiro's Power.

Future Hiro KNEW Peter wouldn't be affected, as future Hiro Knows Peter already and must know his ability ("Are you Peter?" "Do we know eachother?" "Not yet, Im sorry I didnt recognize you without your scar")

So much speculation - so little time. Don't you wish there was some way to compress these shows closer together so that we got the answers when WE wanted!

As for Peter, maybe he's some kind of sponge that absorbs parts of the powers he's around.

Here are the clues that shows why Peter has the mimic ability:

1: When he was in the hospital for trying to jump off the roof, he drew himself flying on the roof. Mimiced the ability from the painter because he was at his place and the painter almost overdosed. This is where Peter saw the painting of him jumping off the roof.

2: While on the roof AGAIN to try and prove that he is able to fly, his brother finds him up there. Confronting his own brother, they realised he was floating in mid-air. The next camera shot shows Peter's hospital with his painting of that exact moment.

Peter may not be taking power or borrowing them he mimics them meaning that he just copies them and it may not be as good as the original. the plus side is that he may not have to experience the drawbacks of each of those abilities. Like isaac has to take heroine to paint the future. Peter may just be able to draw the future but it will not be nearly as good or accurate if Isaac could. Isaac drew a painting that everyone can clearly see who the person is or what is going on (peter flying). Peter drew two stick figures (one floating at an angle and the other standing on the ground). Maybe mimic doesn't say it all. maybe his subconsous is in control of his ability and is simply imaging how that ability works and allows him to use it. If this is the case this ability may fully evolve into something that a person may consiously know and will to happen. This could be anything to creating objects by rearranging molecules to simply believing that you can walk through solid objects.

I'm not saying half-ass flying ability it's more like it can only get as strong as he experiences it. Meaning just because he gets a "copy" of that ability does not necessairly mean you can advance the copy. you can only take it so far. That is why you make another copy of the same ability when you advance it more. When he does then all he needs is some time and practice to use it. Besides who knows what his ability could allow him to do. for all we know is that it allows him to copy the ability and he can some how make it a little more than what it was originally intended. instead of just flying himself he could focus other items to fly or use it in terms of telekenises. We can only wait and see what the Future Hiro has to say to Peter and find out more about his ability.
